I'm done now: Supernatural five seasons and a fandom

Okay, so I have made it through five seasons of Supernatural, in which I learned:

as expected, I do not care about mythologising plot arcs sitting over monster of the week.

i enjoy SPN-the-fandom more than the show.

bobby is a cinnamon roll, too good too pure.

jo was actually the best foil for dean and the show somehow has inserted 1950s america for 'normal' life. dean running a road-side bar with jo and building himself into the hub of a hunter's network would've been epic and actually achievable. lisa is...some misogynist white dude's fantasy healing sequence.

I fell asleep a lot in season 5 and accidentally missed four episodes in the middle, which I only realised when Crowley showed up ten episodes later and I was like 'who tf is this? When did Jo and Ellen die?'

The fun went out of this show a long time ago and my prevailing memory of it is going to be the constant refrain of someone either being a 'bitch' or a 'son of a bitch'.

Two stars I guess for the incredibly fun opening season and Monster of the Week. Negative stars for rampant misogyny and homophobia.

One million stars to pre-season 5 Bobby though. Loved him.
