also i’m trying not to get emotional over the fact that while missing 2-3 years of most relationships is negligible in the grand scheme of things, 2-3 years away from raising a toddler is huge. On the one hand, Maes is lucky that part of the military uniform is gloves, perfect for hiding his 'ultimate lance' ability hands! On the other hand... this boy is going to accidentally destroy so many gloves, I swear. By the end of it it's going to be less 'how did you come back from the dead' and more 'how and why do you keep tearing your gloves at the fingertips?'

he’s trying his best.

for the record, i think he probably can use the ultimate lance/spear/blade/whatever without the gloves, but without the muscle memory he doesn’t really know how. somehow the gloves help.

Excited to see who the other homunculi end up being (personally I think you should bring Nina back as Sloth with the justification she kept distracting the Elrics from their research to play with her XD)

was holding off answering this for obvious reasons—I did consider Nina & Alexander as Sloth (yes, Alexander is there—his soul is in her stone, and mostly he just hangs around in her head, Ling-style).

She’s not really a great example of any sin, buuut my justification for Envy!Nina: She was envious of work taking people away from her (i.e. her father, the Elrics) as well as children who had more conventional childhoods. also the nina&alexander chimera looks kinda like envy’s “true” form but we don’t mention that

While none of the Devil’s Nest crew are getting officially revived, I did have a fun idea where all their souls ended up in Greed’s stone and, after a great deal of sifting around, Greed is able to talk to them again. :)
