hey mod sazsa! i have a question about facial differences — would the facial rash caused by lupus (butterfly or malar rash) be considered a facial difference? what about the rashes caused by discoid lupus?
thank you!
Hi !
Please keep in mind that I myself don't have lupus and just did research for this ask.
I would say that these all count, especially discoid lupus. Just from looking at images to see how it looks like, I found articles about people with lupus being harassed, bullied, or stared at for having rashes on their face which is like The Classic Experience of facial difference. Rule of thumb I (clumsily) use is that if you would benefit from face equality, it's probably a facial difference. It doesn't need to be a "major" condition that affects your whole face and it doesn't need to be permanent either. Neither of these classifiers are included in any definition I've ever seen. There's a lot of very common conditions that can potentially fall under the term - psoriasis, rosacea, even (severe) acne sometimes (I know of face equality activists for all of these things!). I have seen people with skin conditions be accused of being drunk (because of redness on the face) or having infectious diseases - which obviously sucks and I can imagine that could happen to someone with visible lupus as well. So if you feel like it does make your face different and face equality would make your life better then that's a very facial different thing to be.
Facial Difference is a very wide umbrella term for a reason - others generally don't like when someone has something "wrong" with their face even if it's a small thing and thus social problems can appear even if it's ""just" a rash". If you feel like the term fits you, it probably does!
I hope this answers your question!
mod Sasza (← the correct spelling. it's sasza, not "sazsa".)

Compliment prompt 100, reggie pair of your choice!
The first time Reggie uses his powers, he's a baby.
MeeMaw was trying to feed him, and making ridiculous faces in some vain attempt to shove the spoon into his mouth. Only to reel back in fear and shock as her infant grandson was now wearing her face, right down to the mole above her left eyebrow.
He changed back moments later, giggling and content to play with the pureed yams rather than be fed them, and Chavla took a moment to ensure she hadn't been seeing things. She decides not to say anything-just in case.
The next time is during a game of hide and seek with his cousin Jeb, and Reggie is desperate not to be the first one found. The big kids had claimed he was too much of a baby to play with them, only allowing him to join after MeeMaw gave them her patented glare. So he thinks really hard about how to hide and suddenly, he's a rock.
At first he almost vibrates with glee, knowing there's no way in tarnation that he's gonna get found first now. But then he starts to panic.
What if he doesn't get found at all?
What if he can't change back?
What if Jeb picks him up to throw at the gulls like he does sometimes?
Reggie is back to himself after that, shaking and crying, unable to really tell anyone why he's so upset, and latches himself to his grandmother's side for the rest of the day.
He's a lot more careful about his thoughts after that.
Especially after his mom finds out.
She's scrubbing his face after a fun afternoon of mud pies and sighs as she takes in his red cheeks, thumbing over the warm skin. "I don't know where this rosacea comes from. Certainly not my side of the family," Evelynn said. "Wish there was a way to get rid of it, you'd be the handsomest little man."
Reggie so wants his mother to think highly of him, and hey, this is a flaw he can fix right? So he wills his skin milky pale, the mottled redness melting away, and his mother gasps when he offers her a smile.
At first she tries to use it to gain, but even Reggie's power has it's limits. He can only hold a different shape for a few minutes at a time, and panic makes him instantly revert. Changes to his own appearance seem to last, slipping away as he sleeps, but otherwise his skin stays pale unless he blushes.
Then it becomes a million different comments, about how he looks, things he can fix. Evelynn can enter him into modelling with that, and does.
Reggie hates it.
Hates the heavy feeling of make up on his face, but doesn't dare change his appearance in noticeable ways around strangers. Hates having to stay still as they pin and hem clothes around his slim frame. Hates the mindless hours of standing still, of smiling until his face aches, of always being hungry because they never let him eat on set and his mom sometimes forgets to feed him.
It keeps going for years.
Reggie learns to adjust himself to keep his acne from ever showing up outside of his room. Letting his growth spurt be a little exaggerated so his mom never finds out he'll never be over 5'8, since male models must be at least six feet tall. Gives himself muscles that he knows he doesn't have thanks to years of near starvation. Erases the dark circles under his eyes because he spends his nights catching up on homework and listening to his parents fight over anything and everything.
It all comes to a head when he passes out from exhaustion on a shoot.
He wakes up in the hospital, an IV in his arm, and the photographer from the shoot sitting at his bedside. He's worked with Ray Molina a bunch of times by now, and the man had always been kind to him. Talking to him about how cameras worked, about movies he enjoyed, about his son's baseball team. Always slipping Reggie a cookie or a juice box when his mom wasn't looking.
"Wh-What happened?" Reggie croaks, and Ray almost jumps from the chair before sitting back down and offering him a cup of water.
"You fainted mijo."
"Is everyone mad?" Reggie asks, whisper quiet and ashamed.
"More so concerned about you," Ray replies. "Especially since..."
Reggie glances down at the bed, and finally notices that he's shrunk. Bets if he looked in a mirror his skin would be flaming and spotty. He wants to shrink in on himself, and almost does when he thinks about what his mom is gonna say. "I changed didn't I?"
"You did," Ray replies. "How long have you been able to do that?"
Reggie shrugs. "My whole life?"
"And how long have you been changing yourself to make other people happy?" Ray asks, looking right in Reggie's eyes.
Reggie sniffles in response, which is really all the answer Ray needs. "Well, I have to say, I like this version a lot more."
"At least someone does," Reggie replies. "Mom..."
"Hey, no," Ray says, gripping his hand. "You're perfect just the way you are. Don't let anyone else tell you different." He smiles at Reggie, then lowers his voice, as if sharing a secret. "There is nothing I would change about you."
"N-nothing?" Reggie asks.
"Well, maybe just one thing," Ray ammends.
Reggie deflates. Of course he still isn't good enough. But then Ray squeezes his hand once more, forcing Reggie to meet his eyes.
"The only thing I would change is that you had a parent who loves you and is happy to let you be yourself-no matter what that looks like," Ray says.
The next little bit is full of Ray telling him why he's there instead of Reggie's mom, and it involves words like 'social worker' and 'child endangerment' and 'custody of the state' being thrown around. It involves a lot of uncomfortable talks about his parents. About how much they changed him-or made him change-to suit their own needs.
In the end, he ends up going to stay with Ray and his family. They seem to like him just the way he is, even if Carlos does delight when he can mimic people on the TV with his powers. But Rose encourages him to stay as he is, to finally be Reggie-au naturel for a change.
He finds that suits him just fine.
Plus, Ray's daughter Julie and her boyfriend Luke seem to find him plenty cute just as he is, and well, the feeling is mutual. So he doesn't need to change for people to love him.
He still has to work on loving himself some days, but with his new family, his partners, and a good therapist behind him, Reggie eventually gets to a better place.
And he never uses his powers again.

Healthy Gut, Healthy You
Health starts in the GUT
The gut is known to be the body's second brain. Poor gut health can lead to various health problems.
WHAT IS GUT HEALTH? We regularly underestimate the importance of gut health. However, did you know that poor digestive health has an adverse effect on your immune system, weight management, skin, energy level, and mental wellness?
Gut health and the microbiome serve a role in various body functions, like Nutrient absorption and digestion. What happens in the gastrointestinal tract impacts overall health and can make you feel better or cause you discomfort and illness. It's essential to understand the gut microbiome, maintain it through diet and lifestyle choices, and why it matters.
A HEALTHY OUTSIDE STARTS FROM THE INSIDE When people talk about a healthy gut, they attribute it to a microbiome. Your microbiome holds lots of microbes that live throughout your body. This body area is in charge of your overall health, both body and mind. The microbiome comprises thousands of different bacteria, both good and bad. A healthy microbiome enhances good bacteria while avoiding the excess of 'bad' bacteria that could impair your body's health.
WHY DOES GUT HEALTH MATTER? The gut is involved in the movement of food from beginning to end. This process has power over nearly every part of the body. When your gut health is poor, you will notice it in more ways than just stomach upset and poor digestion. It has itself a significant influence on other aspects of health:
SIGNS YOU'VE GOT AN UNHEALTHY GUT: How do you know whether you have good gut health and a well-balanced microbiome? By observing your overall health and checking the signs and symptoms, many of them may appear to not correlate with the gut. However, since the microbiome affects various areas of health, at first, many of them are ruled out as unrelated issues but eventually traced back to the digestive tract:
So how can the gut affect your entire body?
1. Asthma and allergies 2. Fatigue and lack of energy 3. A foggy brain, struggling to focus and think clearly 4. Anxiety or Depression 5. Difficulty sleeping 6. Low Immunity 7. Mood Swings 8. Weight Gain 9. Food Sensitivities 10. Thyroid Conditions 11. Headaches and Migraine 12. Digestive problems (Constipation, Diarrhea and Bloating) 13. Joint Paint 14. Skin issues (Rosacea, Acne, Eczema, Psoriasis) 15. Inflammation 16. Chronic diseases and Autoimmune disorders
HOW TO IMPROVE AND HEAL YOUR GUT? Gut health is not just about what you eat. There are also lifestyle factors and adjustments you can make that will benefit you:
DO'S/DONT'S: 1. Eat prebiotic and probiotic foods (Oats, Bananas, Raspberries, Chickpeas, Lentils and Beans, Asparagus, Artichokes, Garlic) 2. Avoid Processed foods, High-fat foods. 3. Take probiotic supplements 4. Cut down on sugar and refined carbohydrates. 5. Consume plenty of plants and dietary fibres (Whole Grain, Vegetables, Fruit, Legumes, Nuts and Seeds) 6. Reduce dairy and gluten 7. Change and ensure diversity in your diet. 8. Quit smoking and alcohol 9. Get enough and consistent sleep. 10. Avoid Antibiotics 11. Lower your stress levels with some key stress management strategies 12. Avoid your exposure to environmental toxins. 13. Exercise regularly 14. Practice mindful eating by eating slowly. 15. Stay hydrated 16. Check for food intolerances, and remove the drivers damaging the gut. 17. Add Helpful herbs that may aid with digestion (fennel, chamomile, slippery elm, ginger, peppermint, dandelion root, gentian, liquorice and garlic) 18. Add in more omega-3 fats. 19. Eat fermented foods (Yogurt, miso, sauerkraut, kimchi, tempeh, kombucha and kefir)

HOW TO RESET YOUR GUT? Love your gut and transform your well-being from the inside out!
Restoring this essential factor of your overall health increases the quality of your entire body from the inside out, and starting up is easier than you think. By implementing healthier conscious decisions, your gut and body will be able to reset and function more effectively.
Most people attain the improvements by cutting out and adding foods and then noticing how these food modifications make them feel. The best way to do this is gradually and slowly, through food journaling, habits tracker, and self-reflection, to check how you're feeling during the week.
Each person will have their personal experiences, so determining what works best is done a little at a time and based on the individual and their lifestyle.

My rosacea (the bumpy kind) is flaring up again so I’m gonna take a moment to vent about it because I’m very tired of it so bear w me here.
I’ve had active rosacea since I was 18.
Rosacea is a chronic skin condition, which usually appears in primarily middle-aged women. Usually it manifests as a persistent red flush across the surface of the face, sometimes with prominent blood vessels showing. There are several, vastly different subtypes of rosacea. It is unknown what the cause of it is, and there is no permanent cure. It tends to come and go in waves, with each wave lasting anywhere between two to nine years on average.
Because I was (and still am) a lot younger than people usually are when they get diagnosed, the doctors I went to kept insisting it was acne, and would recommend drugstore acne products, or tell me to wait and see if it went away on its own.
This, despite me explaining that I’d already tried those things, and it hadn't helped.
When I was 19, after more than half a year of “waiting to see if it got better on its own”, I went to see another doctor, again. I didn't think I’d get any help, because I hadn't before, but it had gotten to the point where my entire cheeks were red and covered in bumps (half a year earlier, it had been only two splotches near my cheekbones). It felt like they were on fire, and it was itching to the point where I wanted to rip my skin off to make it stop, so I decided to go in again.
This time, the lady I saw actually diagnosed me tho. She’d seen papulopustular rosacea (rosacea, but with the fun addition of mild to extreme bumpage) before, and got me a diagnosis, and got me topical medication. Which helped. Y'all don’t understand, within a month it went from burning and hurting... to almost being normal.
I stayed on the medication (Soolantra) for almost two years. During these two years, my skin healed, and the flare-ups calmed down. They still happened, don’t get me wrong. But they became fewer, and didn't hurt as bad. I learned what to avoid (warm and cold temperatures, alcohol, hot drinks, spicy food, stress, chlorine, certain ingredients in food and skincare) and what helped (cucumbers, chamomile tea, aloe, good sunscreen). It’s recommended that you use soolantra for four months, and then see a doctor if it doesn't help, but since it helped I could get my prescription renewed.
January 2021, when I was 20, I decided to see a dermatologist. My goal was to ask for some tips on dealing with rosacea during the colder months of the year, maybe get some pointers in general on how I could better care for my skin. Instead, the woman I saw changed my diagnosis from rosacea to acne, which is not the same. At all. I had just gotten my Soolantra prescription renewed, so I still had my medication, but because she changed my diagnosis I couldn't get it renewed without seeing another doctor, and stating my case. Again.
So, without doing any kind of examination, without looking at the progress pictures I’d been taking for the past year, without listening to the symptoms I had, she changed my diagnosis. Based on my age. Because I was too young for it to be rosacea. Despite the fact that the Soolantra had clearly and visibly helped (which it would not do if it was acne). Despite the other doctor’s notes.
In December last year, my prescription ran out. And my rosacea became worse, again. Worth noting here is that I get irrationally anxious about things. Officially, I don't have anxiety, but in reality, I do panic about stuff.
This, together with the gut-churning feeling that having to sort of defend your own experiences to a medical professional tends to give you, led to me not even trying to get it renewed. Maybe it would’ve worked. But I couldn't stand the idea that yet another person would look at me like I was stupid, and tell me again that I was too young to have the condition that I clearly do have. I didn't wanna sit infront of someone again, and go red again, and have to breathe calmly again like I had to last time.
I did call. I did make an appointment. I cancelled it when they called and asked why I was booking at that clinic, instead of the one where the dermatologist worked. What was I meant to say? “yeah no sorry last time I met that lady, she had me in and out of her office in less than 7 minutes and then I cried in public because she was harsh and changed my diagnosis and I felt like an idiot”? No.
So I did not get it renewed.
Since December, I've been careful with my skin. I stay out of the sun. I try not to do things that will make me red, because that triggers the bumps. I’m careful with what I eat, and what I put on my face. I still get flare-ups. And I’m very tired of it. I don’t mind the scarring I get from the bumps (I always felt that my face was weirdly empty somehow, so I’m actually kinda happy with them) but the flare-ups are the absolute worst.
Especially because they make me not want to do stuff. I don’t wanna leave the house, I don’t wanna be seen. It hurts, it itches, it burns. It looks really bad. I feel like people are always looking at me, which makes it even worse because it makes me feel embarrassed and that makes me even redder.
I’m gonna have to live with this forever, in waves. And it’s fine, but not really. Fingers crossed that it calms down soon, and stays calm for a while. Right now it sucks ass.

What is the difference between a skin doctor and a dermatologist?
Your best choice is to visit a skin expert, whether you’re searching for someone to cure your skin acne or are considering getting skin treatment for youthful-looking skin. Dermatologists are the first thing that spring to mind when someone asks about a dermatologist. Additionally, we frequently mix up dermatologists with skin experts. But in reality, there is difference between a skin doctor and a dermatologist. Confused? You no longer need to be concerned about this since we are here to allay your fears and provide clarification.
Cosmetologist
Hair, skin, and nail care are among the personal care services offered by cosmetologists, who are also skin specialists who practice medicine. Hairdressers, barbers, and estheticians, sometimes known as skincare specialists, are among the beauty professionals engaged in this cosmetology business and associated jobs. As of 2018, there were around 760,100 persons employed in the cosmetology sector.
Our skin is the biggest organ in the body, despite the fact that we rarely consider it that way. The average person’s skin takes up more than 14% of their body weight and occupies an area of 20 square feet. Our skin is extraordinarily complicated despite its small. Thousands of nerve endings and hundreds of sweat glands may be found in a single square inch of skin, among other tissue components.
Three major layers that are subsequently subdivided into further layers make up the skin. The epidermis, the skin’s outermost layer, is the part of us that is most exposed to the outside world. Skin alterations are frequently a visible sign of changes in the health and fitness of other body components.
How To Choose A Dermatologist?
Nearly everyone benefits from seeing a dermatologist. A dermatologist helps adults and teens manage their bothersome acne, improve the look of their skin, and guard against dangerous conditions like skin cancer. Selecting a dermatologist is a time-consuming and crucial choice. How can you locate the top dermatologist in Chandigarh who can address your skin care needs, then? Here are some crucial considerations when choose a dermatologist.
A physician who focuses on identifying and treating skin conditions is known as a dermatologist. Dermatologists are medical practitioners who have graduated from medical school after completing four years of undergraduate education. Dermatologists who want to become licensed must successfully pass a challenging board test after finishing their residency. As medical professionals, dermatologists are qualified to conduct surgery and provide prescriptions for medications. Although they may also provide cosmetic therapies like Botox injections or laser hair removal, their main priority is skin health. You should visit a dermatologist for treatment if you have a skin condition such acne, rosacea, or eczema.

Devan Patel of Zen Nutrients: A Pharmacist's Journey in Health and Nutrition
Interested in starting your own entrepreneurial journey in health and nutrition but unsure what to expect? Then read up on our interview with Devan Patel, Owner of Zen Nutrients, located in Lutz, LF, USA.
What's your business, and who are your customers?
They say pharmacists are one of the most trusted professionals in the world. Well then, if you take the trust and wisdom of a pharmacist and combine that with the knowledge and expertise of a physician, this equals Zen Nutrients.
At Zen Nutrients, our pharma-grade products are designed to be targeted for specific medical conditions to improve health outcomes, increase compliance and reduce costs. Zen products are formulated with research-backed, premium quality organic and bioavailable ingredients.
We manufacture our supplements in the USA in a state-of-the-art FDA-registered facility following Current Good Manufacturing Practice (CGMP), using non-GMO ingredients. Best of all, we 3rd party tests to ensure top quality and safety.
The category of customers we focus on are neuropathy, wound healing, surgery recovery, scar reduction, plantar fasciitis, rosacea, acne, and skin health. At Zen, we focus on "healing from within."
Tell us about yourself
As a clinical and compounding pharmacist, I have a passion for helping patients get better, especially when traditional prescription medications have not worked well. In many instances, I have found natural medications to have a better upside.
While working in this field, I have created some unique formulations to help many frail patients improve their quality of life and, in many instances, heal faster. So what started as a passion has now become a thriving supplement and nutraceutical company.
What motivates me daily is making an impact on someone's health. I'm not going to make everyone happy, but if I can make a positive difference in my community, it keeps me stoked and energized.
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
In 2020 we received the Amazon's Choice Rating for WoundVite®. Amazon recognized us as the best in the category, and now we the #1 Most Comprehensive Surgery, Wound, and Scar reduction support supplement in the United States.
WoundVite® was formulated using pharma-grade and research-backed ingredients. Our results speak for themselves, and we have well over 2,000 positive reviews and more than 100,000 happy customers using WoundVite®.
What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?
While we know Amazon is a wonderful platform to easily purchase products; there are flaws within the review rating system. It has been very challenging to deal with fake negative reviews and comments from competitors.
It's sabotage at your finest level. As an owner, you have to stay focused on keeping your customers happy, delivering quality, and providing true value to them. Naturally, you will build a solid and reputable brand, but it just makes the process harder.
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
I'm a strong advocate of learning the job task yourself first, then delegating it to scale up. There are several dishonest companies that may take advantage of you, especially when you don't know how something works.
It's easy to get distracted and frustrated when things don't go as planned. Be laser-focused on your goals, and don't give up.
I have found using Fiverr to be very helpful in finding talented help to build your business.
Is there anything else you'd like to share?
Focus on organic marketing growth. It's a better long-term solution to build trust and happiness with your customers. We have over 100 awesome medical blogs on our website to help customers "heal from within."
Where can people find you and your business?

Hiiii Chassie! Thanks for the ask!
I'm going answer this with Kerasil since she's been on the mind lately
-----
🌸 What do they smell like? Do they wear a signature scent?
Kerasil doesn't wear any scenting, as it gets in the way of hunting and she doesn't enjoy flora perfumes that much. If anything, she keeps well bathed to get rid of her own body odor in lieu of letting dirt, leaves, and the ambient jungle humidity scent her. She is mostly wearing leather armor, so the scent of leather oil also lingers around her even out of uniform.
👚 What kind of clothing do they typically choose to wear? Why? Do they have any sensory issues that affect their choices?
Kerasil feels most comfortable within her own armor uniform, but she knows that she can't always be in it. When she's at home, she tends to strip down to bare minimum and the most relaxing and moveable clothes. Shorts, just a top that covers the important bits, and some times no shoes as they can get bothersome at times. Valenwood jungles I imagine are a humid heat so having exposed skin helps get rid of some of that sweat and also that breeze just feels so much better when you can feel it.
Green Pact Bosmer that she is, she isn't going to go with anything like cotton. However, wool and silk are bountiful and very cooling on a summer day so if Kerasil wants to get fancy on a day out of town, she would put on the rare silk outfit or a more casual wool outfit when she can't be in her leathers.
✨ Do they have freckles, moles, acne scars, rosacea, birthmarks, vitiligo, or any other skin pigmentation/texture differences? How do they feel about it?
For sure Kerasil has her share of scars from growing up doing reckless and stupid things before she became Captain of the Guard. (Then she gets the scars from doing stupid and reckless things on the clock, hehe). Probably with how much she is out and about the tan lines on her can be pretty stark (which is why she tires to be stripped down when not working to get the tan lines to blend back together).
But if scars are the only things on her in regards to this, she sometimes has mixed feelings on them.
Some of them are small and have already faded with the decades. If we're going with the mainline story of ESO, there is a big ol giant one in the center of her chest when she was sacrificed by Mannimarco and the nature of that one had such a profound change in her life that I doubt that one would ever fade even if she lived to eternity.
So she keeps it hidden and out of sight. It's not a pleasant thing to see and she would rather try and forget it.

💁🏾‍♀️ and ✨ for the oc personal care asks? :3
Heeeeere ya go!
💁🏾‍♀️ What is their hair care regimen like? Do they color, straighten, curl, or otherwise change their hair regularly?
It's really pretty basic and practical, there's not many opportunities to get dolled up when you're a wandering merc turned hero. Marasa tends to keep it cut roughly mid-back and more often than not, you'll find it pulled back into a simple ponytail or bun to fit under her helm. Sometimes she remembers to braid it at night, but it's much more likely she'll forget and wake up with a wild rat's nest for a hairdo.
✨ Do they have freckles, moles, acne scars, rosacea, birthmarks, vitiligo, or any other skin pigmentation/texture differences? How do they feel about it?
Severe scarring over most of her body, including her face. She's not TOO bothered by the ones on her face any more - they needed corrective surgery/magic to get them where they are now, though. Before, having her lips halfway turned to ribbons thanks to a sword to the face made it difficult to eat, drink, and talk.
The body scars are an entirely different story. She couldn't even tell you what most of them were from now, only that they're the result of nearly a year spent in an Imperial POW camp. As you can imagine, being a small woman from the enemy's side stuck in a medieval prison camp, was an extremely traumatizing part of her life, and each of those scars reminds her of it. She's very careful about keeping them covered, including never using public baths. She hates the looks of pity people give her.

some makeup advice for new girls, women, and fems, from someone who started out a girl but still had to realise she was one after all:
YOUTUBE MAKEUP ARTISTS ARE (generally) FULL OF IT. There is no set "correct" method for doing makeup! How you apply literally every aspect of it depends on your face shape, individual features, skin tone, and personal style. YouTube MUAs who make tutorials will give fantastic advice if you share their exact face shape and features. Otherwise, take it all with a grain of salt. They're not a useless resource, but their words are NOT gospel.
Wash your face before applying makeup! A gentle cleanser (I typically use Cetaphil Gentle Cleanser and Happy Skin by Lush) and a rinse goes a long way. Removing the sweat and sebum/oil buildup will help massively, both in ease of application and overall final result. No cleanser? No prob, find some gentle facial wipes in the makeup section of the grocery store. It'll make a world of difference!
Also: use Q-tips to neaten up lipstick! You can get angled/pointed beauty q-tips at most makeup stores or stores with makeup sections. People rarely get their lipstick absolutely perfect first try, no matter how experienced they are. You can always adjust, tidy, redo, or start over.
When wearing lipstick, you do not need to line your whole mouth to the edge. Most people actually have uneven lips! It's usually not noticeable until you apply makeup to the whole shape and cry because it looks lopsided and messy. It's okay. You can change the shape of your lips and take creative liberties with it. No foundation or coverup necessary; just play with it, figure out what looks good and even and which shapes flatter your face. You can also overline a little on the top lip; try giving yourself a small cupid's bow! If you've already got one, try enhancing its shape :)
Similarly to Point 3; with liquid eyeliner, the way you may need to give yourself wings will differ depending on your eye shape. For example, I have hooded eyelids, so in order to get an angled wing, I actually have to draw straight up from the middle of my eyelid, then out, rather than following the corner of the eye. Finding out what eye shape you have and then looking at "how to do eyeliner for x eye type" will help much more than a standard tutorial.
This is less of a beginner tip, but primer really makes a difference. It helps with ease of application, blending, and makes the colours really stand out. Foundation can work as primer in a pinch for contour and blush, but I'd recommend saving up and investing in the real thing. Just remember there's different kinds of primer for face and eye makeup!
You don't need to apply foundation to your whole entire face. You don't actually need foundation at all; it can clog up your pores really badly, and using it as concealer runs the risk of worsening acne and rosacea. But if you want to use it, a little bit goes a long way! Sponge applicators work the best, in ny experience. Also, when in doubt, go for the lighter shade; not because lighter skin "looks better", but because too-dark foundation will make you orange.
If your foundation looks shiny or feels sticky or heavy, gently dab away the excess, and try following up with some powdered foundation. This sets and seals the layer and helps it look more natural!
Mascara is your friend, but apply her last or she will be your enemy. Also, if you've got blonde or red eyelashes-- try brown mascara first! You may find it enhances your eyes more than stark black, but it depends on your style. There's tonnes of different brush types and mascara types to experiment with, too.
Applying mascara is much less intimidating than it seems. Firstly, wipe the excess on the edge of the tube, like with lip stain. Be gentle, you don't always have to "blink" down on the brush. If your lashes naturally sit curved up or out, tilt your head up and back slightly, meeting your eyes in the mirror so your eyelashes sit away from the skin. If your eyelashes naturally sit downwards, tilt your head forward Kubrick-style and look up at your reflection. Gently comb the brush once or twice through your top lashes. Experiment with adjusting the angle you brush at or the ways you tilt your head, depending on your eye shape and size. For hard-to-reach eye corners, try using the very end of your brush with minimal product, or find an angled mascara brush designed for hooded/folded eyelids. For lower lashes, if they sit curved out or down, it can help to tilt your head forward slightly. If they sit on a short angle, tilting your head up and back can help you reach them. Using less product (wiping away more excess), lightly glide the brush down your lower lashes once or twice, until you're happy with the result.
Don't worry if mascara gets on your skin or eyebrows, it happens to everyone ♡
Most importantly, find what works for you. Makeup can seem really overwhelming; there's cream eyeshadow, powdered eyeshadow, liquid lip stain, tube lipstick, pen eyeliner, pencil eyeliner, liquid eyeliner, cream primer, liquid primer, pencil primer, liquid foundation, powdered foundation, concealer, rouge, blush, contour, bronzer, highlighter, mascara, mascara brush types, lip liner... You'll be okay. We're all scared of it at first. ♡

What is the difference between a skin doctor and a dermatologist?
Difference Between A Skin Doctor And A Dermatologist
The Distinction Between A Cosmetic Dermatologist And A Dermatologist
The body’s skin performs a variety of functions and is likely the organ most exposed to damage from the environment. This makes the skin vulnerable to certain illnesses as well as the outward signs of ageing. A dermatologist is a medical professional who focuses on skin conditions. These can be short-lived or generally unharmful illnesses like acne or mild dermatitis (rashes), or they can be potentially fatal diseases like the numerous types of skin cancer.
