"CHILD LABOR"

While one girl applies makeup her friend collects mica, a mineral commonly used in makeup. In 2023 Hopare created this allegory on Fannin St in downtown Houston, addressing the connections between child labor and consumption and the contradictions of modern society. The mural is one of more than two dozen large works curated by @StreetArtMankind around Houston as part of its "Big Art, Bigger Change" project—bringing beauty to the city while also promoting social and environmental justice. In little more than a decade French artist Alexandre Monteiro, aka Hopare, has become an important figure in urban art, adding his poignant visual statements across the global stage.

the beginning of the journey

ships have sailed is a band consisting of two members art andranikyan who is on percussion (aka drums) and will carpenter who is on main vocals and also plays the guitar on most tracks the main thing to take from the band is a few things

1: art andranikyan is the main reason i know of ships have sailed as he is my uncle he is married to my hopar' (or the brother of my grandpa for no armenian speakers) daughter narine art is a man of many good things he has a good family a good career what im basically saying is he is a good person and deserves the recognition he is getting

2:ships have sailed has had several accolades under the belt such as a few of their songs spending weeks yes you read that right WEEKS on KROQ locals only they also had one of their songs featured in the series bull which aired on cbs

3:the band is significantly indie/underrated and people should give the a listen as they have a good percussionist and a good singer i highly suggest if you want a good first listen you must listen to love in october and take my money as those have a nice soud to them

to end this post i would like to say that ships have sailed is a beautiful band and what ive described hopefully will get you into this band anyways i shall see you later and for now my ship has sailed
