Update - May 6th
SPRING SEMESTER IS OVER HOORAAAYYYYYYY
...Now I have a week to do some much needed updates before I start my summer semester. Don’t worry, this one’s only a month long :)
I’ll be getting to some of those Tumblr requests that were asked of me MONTHS ago, as well some much needed updates on my stories such as Fiery Heart, Broken Soul, I’ll Never Abandon You and The Return of the Phantom Empire. I’ll be returning to deviantART soon with some new artwork, too. I won’t tell you all that I’ve been working on, but it’s more than just Hanna-Barbera--although there’s a lot of that, too XD
I’ve been working on some Ricochet Rabbit stuff for the past few weeks, including uploading some short clips on YouTube and doing some Blazin’ Trails stories, but this week goes to my first favorite H-B character. Yesterday I watched The Good, the Bad and Huckleberry Hound again, and it still holds up as amazing as it was when I first watched it. Like I said in my tribute to Daws Butler last year, viewing the movie gives me a bittersweet feeling since I know what happened to the man behind Huckleberry Hound. I’ve gone on record to say that the part where they throw a party for Huck in which they give him “parting gifts” such as a coffin and a headstone was the creepiest part of the whole movie, even more so than evil Huck. It did, however, give me an idea to do a supernatural Western thriller fic based on the climax of the film, inspired by the show A Haunting.
Watching that movie also gave me some inspiration to write up some more things regarding The Ghost of Huckleberry Hound universe, specifically the fic that follows after Have Guitar, Will Travel, titled The Hand He’s Dealt. It’s another Quick Draw centered fic and I had an awesome idea for a twist in the story (which involves Quick Draw tracking down the outlaw who killed his father). I may put it up here, but not until I finish up stuff for Have Guitar, Will Travel.
Although I haven’t watched a lot of Super Sentai since my post from a month ago, I did check out a video for the recent series, Uchuu Sentai Kyuranger, and it looks kinda awesome--it doesn’t look as jarring as Zyuohger or as cheesy as ToQger when I looked up the clips for those. Plus. the fact that the rest of the team members are different species is awesome in itself. Tomorrow, I’ll probably take a look at it along with my regular weekend viewing of Kirakira Precure A La Mode.
I’ve fallen hard into the Love Live fandom, and I’m currently going through season 2 of the original School Idol Project. I’m taking it slowly though, because once I’ve started an anime. I’ll sit through and watch episodes for hours (*cough* Seven Deadly Sins, Yuki Yuna is a Hero *cough*). Honoka is still my Best Girl, but Umi became second after season 1, episode 10. I’ve also started taking a look at Sunshine, and I honestly don’t know why people hate on this show. Sure, Muse is the original and they do have some awesome music as well (LOVELESS WORLD is their best song, period), but Aqours is just as awesome and I’m in love with their music. In fact, my Love Liveplaylist on YouTube happens to have more Aqours music than Muse because I love their sound that much. And while Honkers is my Best Girl in the original SIP, You is Best Girl in Sunshine, followed by the adorable Ruby and the hilarious Yoshiko/Yohane (who I love way more than Nico). I have yet to see all of Sunshine, but I love it so far and I’m one of those people who hopes that Muse and Aqours does a joint concert one day.
I’ve also started watching Shakugan no Shana simply out of curiosity--and because supernatural shows is my weakness. So far, the plot’s pretty interesting, and I’ll be taking a look at the show’s third episode later tonight.
I’m back on the Symphogear train because the game came out not too long ago and the anime’s coming out in two months! Plus, I was made a moderator on the Senki Zesshou Symphogear community that I’ve joined on Google+, which was totally unexpected and completely made my day!
I’ve also taken off on my YouTube channel. Originally, when I started out, I only had 15 subscribers for several months. I was tempted to give up, but in recent months, I decided that I was going to keep working at it and make more videos, regardless of how many subscribers I gained. Slowly, but surely, I started gaining more followers, and in April (which was when I was posting all of the Punkin’ Puss and Mushmouse clips) I got over 22 subscribers! How cool is that? Thanks to everyone on my YouTube channel and my Google+ feed for supporting me and liking my vids! :)
And in regards to nostalgic stuff...I’ve been binge-watching the 2002 He-Man and the Masters of the Universe series with my dad. That show is freakin’ awesome and it’s a shame that it was cancelled just as it was getting really good. Plus, I may be getting back into The Zula Patrol due to a post on Google Plus and the fact that I started writing one of the fics for my OTP One-Shot Masterlist.
I will get to doing my Netflix update soon. I’ve got a few shows that I’m watching, a few I’ve finished, and a few movies/shows I’m interested in seeing.
Just wanted to let you guys know how I was doing so ya wouldn’t be worried about my mental state during exams =P
