A quick and handy guide to the Italian Tour cast, including chorus counterparts and translated names if applicable (Note that some pictures are screenshots, because some of them have more available photos than others).
Alonzo
But be careful - because sometimes Alonzo borrowed Munkustrap’s clothes for funsies:
Bombalurina aka Bombalalurina
(She’s the black and white cat with the white belly and black stripes - that comes in handy later)
Cassandra
Bustopher Jones aka Ciccio Gourmet
(”Ciccio” is a shortened/stylized version of the slang word “cicciotto” which means “chubby”. Played by the performer for Old Deuteronomy instead of Gus the Theatre Cat ala the OG London production)
Demeter aka Demetra
(She’s the black and white cat with the black belly and white stripes, so inverted from Bomba. She was also noticeably taller than Bomba and takes on her part in Bustopher Jones)
Old Deuteronomy aka Deuteronomio
Electra (referred to in song as Eletra, but officially credited as Electra)
Exotica
Grizabella aka Grisabella
Growltiger aka Gattigre (a mesh of the word “gatto” and “tigre”...original)
He is not played by the performer who plays Asparagus/Gus, but instead is the “main character” identity of chorus cat:
Caligola
Gus
Chorus counterpart is Asparagus:
(The performer Fabio Monti later played a cat called “Paride” instead who has no pictures readily available, but allegedly looked very similar to Asparagus but with a Cassandra style “tucked in” wig and a bulkier costume, but I can’t be sure)
Jellylorum aka Jellilora
(She also, as usual, doubled as Griddlebone aka Occhibui - which can be translated to mean “dark eyes” - but with no fancy costume, just an additional feather boa):
Jemima
Jennyanydots aka Jennytuttapois
Macavity
(he’s dressed completely in leather and the bottom of his pants are bejeweled and idk who made that decision but it is a CHOICE)
Chorus counterpart is, as usual, Plato aka Platone:
Mistoffelees aka Mr. Mistofeles
Chorus counterpart is Quazo, who looks very similar to Caligola except with a brown collar instead of an orange one:
Mungojerrie aka Mangojerry
Munkustrap aka Munkostrap
Pouncival aka Parsifal
Rum Tum Tugger aka Ram Tam Taggher
Rumpleteazer aka Zampalesta (which can be translated to roughly mean “swift paw”)
Skimbleshanks aka Sghemboexpress
Chorus counterpart (above Asparagus):
Victoria (referred to in song as Vittoria, but officially credited as Victoria)
