✨  REALLY EXCITED TO POST THIS! I commissioned my friend Nikki @hollycircling for a cover for my fanfic Exponential Decay  in the coloring and style of the Jujutsu Kaisen volume covers. The fic itself is about Gojo x Geto’s relationship and set in the immediate aftermath Riko Amanai’s death as both of them try to come to terms with it and Geto notices a widening gap between him and Gojo as Gojo steps up to being the strongest. Sweet/savoury/spicy: why must I choose one... I'm a type of beast that gets occasional cravings and all of these are on the list at some point. I got a sweet tooth and a-okay spice tolerance, but savory might be the most reliable option, can't go wrong with that one

Relationship status: blissfully maidenless :3 I'm on aro and ace spectrums so I'm not interested in pursuing any romantic relationships

Current obsession: grasping at last straws of my trigun obsession so I can finish my multi chapter fic... I'm still in the sauce it just shifted from hyperfixation to special interest. and I made a deal with myself to finish that wip before plunging into new fandoms (tho I can FEEL the next big thing for me is gonna be dungeon meshi)

out of non-fandom stuff, I recently became obsessed with filterless water tanks. I actually set one up on my desk and it's thriving! if all goes well, I can get cherry shrimp next week, which I'm super excited about (I don't plan on any fish for now, but it's full of different invertebrates that are even more interesting to me). also I got really into knitting sweaters and my current wip is almost finished

Currently Reading:  Ok... so... I actually haven't read any sort of published novel since... 2011, with A Storm of Crows I think? So I used to read a shit ton, but it was 11th grade and my friends were like 'You're still reading kids books? Read something for grown ups instead' (I was rereading Percy Jackson at the time, my beloved). So I gave it a try with a 'grown up' fantasy series and... fuck GoT it was awful and I decided if that's what adult literature was like, I didn't want any part of it. So I quit reading entirely.

Last Movie: Bullet Train, months ago. I don't like watching movies - I'm huge into the behind the scenes stuff, cinematography, lighting, direction, costume design etc etc so it makes it hard to watch movies when my brain won't stop analyzing and criticizing everything (honestly modern cinema is so full of people just 'sending it' for the next big paycheck, the heart is just gone). But my husband insisted I watch this one and you know what? It was actually really well made, I was impressed.

Craving: More time. More time to finish these cosplays (Twelve have mercy the con is in a week and a half), more time to write, more time to decompress. Also craving a Chromebook/laptop/portable writing device that doesn't freeze when I type more than 5 letters in a row...

What are you wearing right now: My nightgown! (still in bed) It's got penguins on it and it's fucking adorable.

How tall are you: 5'5, idk what that is in the rest of the world. Americans, y'know.

Piercings: None, but I bought some super cute Ascian earrings last year and I've been really tempted to get my earlobes pierced.

Last show: Last narrative-focused show? Uhhhhhh.... I watched the first season of The Walking Dead in 2012 and I legit can't think of anything more recent. I just don't enjoy watching things much, I'd rather be doing something, and I'm such a snob when it comes to screenwriting/characters that most things just don't appeal to me. Other than that the last non-scripted show I watched was Restaurant: Impossible.

Last thing you ate: An oatmeal chocolate chip cookie my sister made last night.

Favourite colour: Wine/burgundy! That deep, dark, blood red with just a hint of purple (in case you couldn't tell since it's the color my WoL wears in every outfit)

Unrelated Obsession: Unrelated? I'd say writing but that's kind of related... So, horses? I mean that's just always my obsession.

Any pets: Uh... yeah. I myself have two horses. And then... we have a shit ton of cats. So in 2020 strays kept showing up at our house and then they'd have babies, eventually we managed to catch them all and get them fixed and now some of them have chosen to move in. Shelters are full all across the state, rescues and fosters are full. So now we have... 10 cats that live inside (it's a large house) and then another six/seven that are still feral outside but fixed at least. Nothing much we can do about it, but keeping them inside keeps them safe and saves the wildlife outside, too.

Do you have a crush on anyone: An eternal crush on my husband. He's just amazing. Soft. Adorable. Handsome. Perfect. Goofy. Gorgeous. Smart. Creative. Loving. So many more words. 12 years together in May!

Favourite fictional character: Assuming player characters/WoLs don't count, Elena Fisher from Uncharted. She was the first female character I encountered who was just... normal. Not a token female, not sexualized eye candy, not walking boobs without a personality, she was... a real person, a real character in her own right, whose gender didn't change who she was. And I fell in love with that back in 2007 (I was in middle school then, so it was kind of a big deal for me). She only got better as the years went by, I still love her.

The last place you traveled: Depends on your definition of 'travel'. On a literal sense probably Portland, but since both that and Seattle are practically in my backyard I don't really count those. Other than that, Philadelphia I think, for a wedding.

Noticed the reblog of a fanart for one of your OC’s, Li. And their description got me a bit curious, so I looked around a bit for more information on them. Which I did.

And I got to say, I’m now very interested in their story now. One question I do have is that, what would happen if they found out that Mai is alive?

I know for sure they are extremely vengeful/hateful towards Maki. But would they also carry those same feeling towards Mai?

Thank you for your interest in Li's story! That's a very interesting question one I don't totally have an answer since both the events of my future culling games fics aren't really outlined yet. But I'm two minds about it. Lemme try to explain my reasoning.

Number one before the Zenin massacre, Mai and Li already have a relationship. By relationship I mean she just finds them one of the more tolerable Zenin to be around. Li is a paradox because they clearly disapprove of the Zenin and the way they treat Maki and Mai who were somewhat childhood playmates to them, but also they're all about loyalty towards their immediate birth family (younger siblings) as the oldest sibling and even tries a little bit too hard to fit into that role because they didn't even know they had an innate curse technique until they almost died. So like, they are loyal to the family they were born into at least for the sake of their younger siblings to the point where it limits their freedom. Maki and Mai try to resist the pressure of the Zenin in their own ways, Li doesn't and that's their downfall in the first part of the story. Li likes Mai and Maki and fondly remembers playing with them before the adults seperate them, Mai finds Li tolerable, but family circumstances keep them from having more than a tenuous friendship.

My Zenin Massacre Arc rewrite is going to be split into two stories too, the first one "The Inugami Family" is going to be focused on Mai and Megumi being sent to the Zenin clan to try to sort out who is going to be the next leader in the few days preceding the massacre. The main trio of that fanfic is Megumi, Mai and Li because Li gives the perspective of a sorcerer who is stuck inside the clan as a member of the Kukuru unit (comprised of Zenin male members who don't possess innate techniques. All members of the clan who fit the criteria are required to enlist and undergo grueling martial arts training day and night) who isn't allowed to attend the academy. They get along pretty well, until the night Maki returns to the clan and Mai dies something that Li is pretty powerless to stop but Maki blames them for anyway. So, Li has a relationship with Mai already before her death.

Now, when Li finds out Mai is alive how do they react? Especially considering that Li is literally possessed by revenge (that's Li's cursed technique it gives them power to take vengeance against their murderer, but doesn't activate until they die which is sort of inconvenient). As I said I'm of two minds. There's two things I want to accomplish the first is making it clear that this is an anti-revenge story. No revenge any character tries to take would ever be narratively satisfying, nor would it heal any of their wounds, because it's taking an internal problem that needs fixing and turning it into an external enemy to beat up. It's trying to kill your grief rather than feel it. It's trying to slaughter your way to peace of mind.

Li in seeking their revenge is the mirror to Maki. They were also a disadvantaged member of the clan (Li and Maki both served in the kukuru unit) though, they weren't abused to the extent Maki was. They also both stuck it out in the clan for the idea that they could make the clan a better place for their younger siblings. They then lost those younger siblings and failed in their one goal of protecting them. Li is also a little more selfish than Maki, because they're really only looking out for their younger siblings, they care about Mai and Maki but not enough to stick their necks out for them because little siblings come first. It's not so much the right thing to do in general, as the right thing to do by your immediate family. (Think a foil to Pre-Shibuya Arc Choso, a Choso who doesn't really care about what right and what is wrong, who is willing to massacre innocents to create a world where it's eaiser for the death painting siblings to live). What do you do if the person who wants revenge against you has every right to their revenge as you do? The idea comes from the proposed sequel to Kill Bill, where Copperhead's Daughter comes after the Bride, because they don't understand the Bride's need for revenge all they saw was their mother getting killed in the kitchen.

As an anti-revenge narrative it would make sense for Li to start targeting people who are close to Mai, because that is how revenge works revenge doesn't only punish guilty people because individuals aren't objective deciders of who is guilty and who is innocent. Even Maki's revenge targetted innocent people in the clan. So to make Li the mirror to Maki it makes sense for them to go after Mai.

On the other hand I want Li to seem like the protagonist of the story, rather than an antagonist with a sympathetic backstory, that way it flips the notion on who is the good guy and who is the bad guy on its head. If Maki is the protagonist the audience can almost excuse her revenge because number one we know her tragic backstory, number two Maki killing her abusers is viscerally cathartic to enjoy as an audience. However, if you switch Maki to the antagonist role then her massacre becomes less justifiable especially if the protagonist is now one of the people who was caught up in it, and who because of Maki experienced the exact same loss of the younger sibling.

So part of me wants to make Li like... Antonio Banderas in the Princess Bride. They don't really target innocent people, they don't target Maki's friends just to hurt her, it's almost the simplest and easiest to root for revenge narrative there is. They just want to kill Maki to avenge their siblings, and only Maki, and they fight with honor and strive not to get other people involved because their only business with Maki. Just the "You killed my father, prepare to die..." of revenges. But, even that revenge where it looks like perfect justice would still be wrong, because the audience likes Maki, and the audience understands Maki's trauma so we don't want to see a victim like Maki get killed without getting the proper help.

Thank you so much for sending this anon your positive feedback means the absolute world to me and encourages me to write. Sure, anon there are two OCs I am planning to either introduce or give more screentime in future fics.

One thing is Ocs are primarily there in my fics either to provide perspective on the main characters, foil them in some way, or serve as rivals / antagonists because I like to write fics that are like self-contained arcs that could appear in story or revisions of arcs that already happened. So like a lot of my ocs are formed around canon characters in order to contrast them which is why they are going to show up in future fics that choose to focus on those specific characters. So, ummmm!!! Here is a guy.

He has technically already made an appearance in Three's Company, which is the fourth fic in the series and the prequel to werewolf. Uh, if Exponential Decay -> Exponential Growth -> Butterfly Curve are a set of three then it'd be Three's Company -> Werewolf -> Zenin Massacre Rewrite.

His name is Sigma (full name Shigema Kamo). His cursed technique is the ability to switch left and right, which is why he fights with two swords. He uses that in conjunction with new shadow style simple domain in order to counter domains. He has an innature cursed technique, but no cursed energy to use that technique. The reason why is because he was born with a heavenly restriction, he and his sister share all of their cursed energy. He can't use any cursed energy unless his sister supplies him with some. If his sister isn't there he may as well be fighting with cheap swords he bought at walmart.

But, eleven years ago his sister died. She only exists now as the remaining cursed energy she left behind as a gift for him (similiar to Rika and Yuta / Maki and Mai) so he is wielding his literal loved one as a weapon. He was also apprehended by Geto / Gojo / Shoko after he went rogue but instead of being executed he was passed onto Tsukumo Yuki who wanted to study his heavenly restriction.

Basically, he is going to make a reappearance in the first part of the Zenin Family Massacre arc fic where Yuta and Maki go to recruit Hakari while Megumi is sent to negotiate with the Zenin Clan. He is a foil for both Maki and Yuta, both as a bad end for Maki (what if there was nothing remaining of your sister in this world but a weapon and a desire to avenge them) and also for Yuta as they are both the nicest guys in the world until they lose their loved ones.

He's also connected to Choso which is why his last name is Kamo. I don't want to spoil anything, but Noranso is also going to make a reapparance in the first part of this same fic.

This Is Lio/Li/Lia, they're not nearly as developed as Sigma because they are meant to exist post Zenin Massacre arc and they are an oc for the culling games

The idea behind them is that they are the sole survivor of the Zenin Massacre besides Maki who is the killer, and Mai who gets revived basically by mistake. Maki didn't notice that they were still alive and didn't bother to finish them off. They're based on the idea that the Zenin Family Massacre is in fact a massacre, not everyone Maki killed was culpable for her abuse. It's like Geto slaughtering an entire village not everyone in that village made the decision to put kids in a cage even if Geto was rightfully angry at the perpetrators.

Like the protagonist of one story, can be a villain to another story. Li's life was not particularly good either, but they're feelings for their parents were incredibly complex and they didn't want them to die but it wasn't just their parents it was also their little siblings. (I am going with like Geto levels with Maki's massacre, she was thorough she wanted to erase them.) Li wasn't an especially hateful to begin with they were just a funky little closeted trans dude. In fact I'm floating around the idea that Maki, and Mai actually got along with them slightly better when they were children. Basically, they don't like the Zenin family either. And some part of it is liberating that they can finally start presenting themselves the way they want to now that they don't exist inside of the repressive structure of the Zenin and are no longer pressured to become a sorcerer and yet given this chance to live their own life the way they want they can't let go of the desire to see justice for their siblings. At the same time literally everyone they knew in their whole life is dead including their little siblings (they were the eldest) and that essentially turns them into Sasuke Uchiha.

Cycle of revenge stories fascinate me when you take a neutral view on it, instead of centering justice around the main character's POV. LIke, what if the person who wants revenge against you, has just as much reason to want revenge as you did? What makes your revenge more valid than their revenge? In this case Lio is after Maki for taking their little siblings away and Mai was the catalyst for Maki exterminating the Zenin. All of this is also kind of based off the idea that Quentin Tarantino originally planned a sequel for Kill Bill where the girl who's mother was killed right in front of her by the bride spends the whole movie hunting down the bride.
