Holden HQ, 1971-1974. The HQ represented a completely new design, replacing the outgoing HG Holden in July 1971. The range consisted of a wide variety of models and trim levels - the 4-door sedan was the mainstay, complemented by a 2-door Monaro coupe, utility, “One-Tonner” cab-chassis, a wagon (shown here), a panel van and long-wheelbase Statesman/Satesman DeVille luxury versions. Trim levels consisted of the base Belmont, the regular Kingswood and the higher spec Premier (identified by quad-headlights). - Engines available were updated inline 6-cylinder “Red” motors carried over from the previous HG in 173 and 202 cid capacities, while V8 engines came in 253, 308 and 350 cid. 485,650 were built before the updated HJ replacement arrived in October 1974. #holden #gmh #hqholden #holdenhq #hqbelmont #hqkingswood https://www.instagram.com/p/BuxOIXal1dK/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=7gikxurk182i

In 1971, before the 1972 Holden SS four-door limited edition sedan and Monaro GTS/4 of 1973, one had to option up a Kingswood to get a practical Holden family sedan with decent performance. Here is one such example with GTS Rally wheels, sports suspension, bucket seats, sports steering wheel and a 253 or 308 V8.
