#Lotusflowers blooming in Hanoi amid sweltering summer

Thousands of lotus flowers have come into full bloom.

The pristine beauty, simplicity, gentleness of lotus flower always make people passionate.

The lotus is part of #Vietnamese cuisine

While the #lotusflower is used for tea, the stem is used in Vietnamese-style salads, called Gỏi.

The roasted seeds of young lotus flowers make for a tasty snack as well.

The leaves of older plants are commonly used to wrap food, such as steamed rice and certain kinds of fish.

With so many uses for such a beautiful flower, it’s no wonder that the lotus was chosen as the #nationalflower.

The #Aoi Dai ( Ao-zai in the Northern accent;  ao-yai in the Southern accent) is a #vietnamesenationalcostume worn by both sexes but now most commonly worn by women. In its current form, it is a long, split tunic dress worn over trousers. 

Áo translates as shirt.Dài means "long".

The women also wear traditional Vietnamese conical hats called #Non La. These hats are made from the leaves of palm trees and are often wore as a fashion statement or used to write poetry on. The slanted hats protect you from both the sun and the rain. The origin of the Non La can be traced back to Hue and it is recommended that tourists buy these hats at the Hue Citadel.

In #Vietnam, the nón lá ("leaf hat") forms a perfect right circular cone which tapers smoothly from the base to the apex. ... Uses to protect from sunlight and rain .

In modern times, they have become part of #Vietnam'sNationalCostume.

The #NonLa is used as protection from the sun and rain, a basket for vegetables to use when shopping at the market, or even as a bowl to relieve thirst when passing by a well.

You may even come across young couples shielding their kisses form the public behind this traditional hat during their dates. It also makes for a great souvenir to take home, to show the rest of the world that this traditional symbol of Vietnam remains without age, sex, or racial distinctions.

#Chilean wine has a long history for a New World wine region, as it was the 16th century when the Spanish conquistadors brought  Vitis vinifera vines with them as they colonized the region. In the mid-19th century, French winevarieties such as  CabernetSauvignon, Merlot, Carmenère and Franc were introduced. In the early 1980s, a renaissance began with the introduction of stainless steel fermentationtanks and the use of oak barrels for aging. 

Love the way it presented wheat grass bamboo pot decoration with small bamboo hat is beautiful & refreshing.

I got to know about local snake 🐍 wines too but for me it was scarry to taste it.🥺🤷
