woody allen anon here. absolutely hate to break it to you bc . more New Yorkers movies after the clear borderline narcissistic self-indulgence of Everyone Says I Love You but. Alda plays a goofy must-be-center-of-attention-or-die “comedian” and semi-antagonist character in Crimes and Misdemeanors, but he’s only onscreen for like 10 cumulative minutes. Also Woody Allen again steals his girl, so make of that repeat casting/writing choice what you will

alan alda be in better comedians works challenge: (I reach back in time to tell him this, just you wait I'm changing the timeline, I'm putting him in mel brooks movies, more ben stiller movies, I'm making him do a live performance of rocky horror as a skinny brad, he's working with tim curry, he's in clue, he's in who framed roger rabbit, he's doing little shop of horrors, he's working with leslie nielsen again, robin williams -- and of course all those ridiculously talented women he's worked with at least once! carol burnett, lily tomlin, jane fonda, and everyone else from my other post about that!)
