#Repost @aurnonline ・・・ Black Art Explored 🎨 At 92, Frank Wimberley's life in art, spans over five decades as an Abstract Expressionist painter. He studied with James Porter, Lois Mailou Jones, and James Wells at Howard University. While studying at @howard1867 Wimberley played jazz which led to a friendship with musicians such as Miles Davis, Ron Carter, and Wayne Shorter. Wimberley still applies his paint shade by shade, brushstroke by brushstroke, creating what he terms a "controlled accident".
