Inaction: This is a hatchling that I have been looking forward to meet for a few days now, I have shared a photograph of his egg too. And today, I finally got to meet but it was already dead. Fell from its 12 foot high nest. I woke to gorgeous sounds of pigeons this morning, only to walk out and realize the mother was waiting for the loss of its child. Once you know what a bird cooing for, it becomes quite transparent to understand it's emotion. She was distraught; agony in her voice. It was heartbreaking. I found the carcass on the ground, ants feasting on it already. I couldn't help but question if I could be done anything to prevent this death. Maybe and maybe not but it is my inaction, knowing that that fall would mean only death but a principle to not disturb nests, as birds don't take the kids in, or the nest, should any human lay a finger. But the question still haunts me. I buried the dead hatchling.
