Trope: flower shop next to a tattoo parlor
C
I think it's a fun concept, but I'll scroll by it in a first run through of looking for stuff to read. And probably a second or third run. Like a lot of the mundane profession AUs, there's not anything about this trope in particular that really reaches out and screams, "READ ME NOW!"
As someone with tattoos, there's just something about a lot of these fics that feels off. I think this is one of those tropes that's supposed to be weirdly gendered in that flower shop = feminine and tattoo shop = masculine, and you're supposed to go, "look at these to fundamentally opposite professions!!!! how could they ever get together?" when they're honestly not that different. Like, do you know how many tattoo artists do gorgeous florals or are plant people? Honestly, when done badly, the trope relies a bit too much on stereotypes about tattooing and people with tattoos. Idk.

Opinion on the Conjuring movies?
I like the movies for what they are. They're entertaining, the acting is fantastic, the effects are gorgeous, and they're just plain fun.
That being said, I have lifelong beef with the Warrens for all the snake oil grifter bullshit they pulled and the irreparable harm they did to all the people they scammed with their "demonic haunting" racket. And make no mistake, it was a racket.
What's more unfortunate is that their ideas are still so popular and we have to keep debunking their rhetoric with regard to mediumship, spirits, hauntings, and so on. Their little minions on popular ghosthunting shows haven't helped matters either.
But as for the movies themselves? Like I said, very enjoyable. I just wish they hadn't been born out of stories of innocent people getting scammed by Bible-thumping hacks.
