HAMPI UNESCO World Heritage site. A place of such great magnificence and opulence is sure to have a rich cultural heritage to it too. Hampi was a part of the Mauryan Empire back in the third century BC. There has been enough evidence of the fact that the rock edifices found in the Bellary district were a common form of recording relevant information in the times of Ashoka. Hampi was the capital city during the four different dynasties altogether in the Vijayanagar city that came into existence in the year 1336 AD. The Vijayanagara Empire reached unfathomable heights under the guidance of King Krishnadeva Raya of the Tuluva Dynasty. The Vijayanagara Empire, also called the Karnata Rajya, was created in 1336 AD by Harihara I and Bukka Raya I of the Sangama Dynasty. It came to power by fighting off Islamic invasions towards the end of the 13th century. Famed for its efficient governance and strong trade connections abroad, the Empire brought Southern India to new heights in both technology and fine arts. Their level of mastery can be seen easily in the architecture of the temples at Hampi. Hey guys, నేను ఇప్పుడు హంపిలో ఉండే పురాతన విఠ్ఠల గుడిలో ఉన్నాను. ఈ గుడి చుట్టూ చాలా విచిత్రమైన holesలు వేశారని నేను ఇప్పుడు కనిపెట్టాను. ఎవరూ దీన్ని observe చేసి ఉండరు, ఎందుకంటే ఈ గోడలను మనం బాగా గమనించి చూస్తే గాని ఈ holes మనకు కనబడవు. వరుసగా వేసిన ఈ holes అన్నీ కేవలం ఒక సెంటీమీటర్ వెడల్పు మాత్రమే ఉన్నాయి. ప్రపంచంలోనే చాలా గట్టి రాళ్లలో ఒకటైన granite రాయిపై పాత kaalapu బిల్డర్లు ఈ holesలను ఎలా వేశారు? ఈ రోజు మనం granite రాయిలో ఇలాంటి holes వేయడానికి diamond tipped drill bits లాంటి machinesలను use చేస్తున్నాము. అయితే పాతకాలంలో దీన్ని ఎలా చే��ుంటారు? కానీ ఇక్కడ అంతకంటే ఎక్కువ interestయైన ఒక విషయం ఉంది. lineగా ఉన్న ఈ holes పైన ఇంకొక line ఉంది. అదికూడా ఇదే లాంటి holes ఉన్న lineఎహ్. కానీ ఇవి కింద ఉన్న holes కంటే కొంచం పెద్దవి.

ఇంకా దీని పైన మూడవ lineలో కూడా holes ఉన్నాయి, ఇవన్నీ ఈ మొత్తం structureని చాలా confuse చేస్తుంది. కానీ చాలా ముఖ్యమైన ప్రశ్న ఏంటంటే వాళ్లు ఈ holesలను ఎలా drill చేసారు, ఎందుకు drill చేశారు? ఈ గుడి చుట్టూ ఇన్ని holesలను ఎందుకు వేశారు? Archeologists ఎంఅంటున్నారంటే, గుడిని అలంకరించడానికి ఆ holesలో పువ్వులు పెట్టడానికి లేదా అగరబత్తులను పెట్టడానికి ఈ holesలను ఈ గుడి చుట్టూ వేసుంటారు అని చెప్తున్నారు. అయితే వీళ్ళు చెప్పే ఈ theoriesలు convincingగా లేవు. ఈ holes కేవలం అలంకరించడం కోసమే చేశారని తెలుసుకోవడానికి ఏదైనా మార్గం ఉందా లేకపోతే ఈ గుడి designలో ఇది ఒక ముఖ్యమైన part aah? చూడండి, మన పాతకాలపు బిల్డర్లు చాలా తెలివైనవాళ్లనుకుంటా, ఈ కట్టడాలన్నీ భవిష్యత్తులో మనుషుల వల్ల నాశనం అవుతుందని వాళ్లు ముందే అంచనా వేశారు.

కాబట్టి వాళ్లు ఈ గుడిలో ఒక చిన్న 3D miniature modelని కట్టారు. దాన్ని చూస్తే ఈ గుడిలో ఉన్న చాలా ముఖ్యమైన అంశాల గురించి detailగా తెలుసుకోవచ్చు. యుద్దానికి వచ్చినవాళ్ళు దీన్ని ధ్వంసం చేయడానికి ముందు ఈ గుడి ఎలా ఉండేదో అని ఈ model మనకు clearగ చూపిస్తుంది. ఈ modelని fulfillగా కట్టారు, దీన్ని చుడండి original గోపురాలకుపైన కలశం ఉండే విధంగా ఉంది. అంతేకాక మన హిందూ గుడులన్నీ ఎత్తుగా, పెద్దగా ఉంటాయి. అసలు నేను ఈ గుడిలో ఉన్న holes గురించి మాట్లాడుతుంటే, ఎందుకు suddenగా ఈ చిన్న modelని మీకు చూపిస్తున్నానని అనుకుంటున్నారు కదా. ఎందుకంటే, ఈ గుడిలో ఉన్న holesలను ఒక ముఖ్యమైన reason కోసం చెక్కుంటే, ఈ చిన్న 3D modelలో కూడా ఆ holes ఉండాలి. ఈ holes కేవలం decoration కోసం drill చేసుంటే, దాన్ని ఈ చిన్న modelలో detailedగా చూపించి ఉండరు, ఎందుకంటే ఇలాంటి ఒక చిన్న modelలో చాల ముఖ్యమైన విషయాలను మాత్రమే చూపిస్తారు.

అందుకే ఈ modelలో ఏవైనా holes వేసారో లేదో అని తెలుసుకోవడానికి దీన్ని check చేశాను, నేను వెతుకుతున్న దాన్ని correctగా కనిపెట్టేసాను. ఈ modelలో చాలా చిన్నగా వేసిన holesల వరుస ఇక్కడ ఉంది చుడండి, ఈ holes అన్నీ ఒక millimeter వెడల్పు మాత్రమే ఉన్నాయి. పాతకాలంలో ఇప్పటివరకు వేసిన అతి చిన్న holesలను నేను ఇప్పుడే కనిపెట్టానని అనుకుంటున్నాను. I mean, ఒక millimeter వెడల్పు holesలను granite రాయిలో మన పాతకాలపు బిల్డర్లు వేశారు. ఏ machines సహాయం లేకుండా ఇలాంటి వాటిని ఎలా చేశారు? గుర్తుంచుకోండి, ఈ హంపి నగరం మొత్తం పాతకాలపు machining technologyకి సంబంధించిన ఆధారాలు ఇక్కడ నిండి ఉంది. ఇంకా నా ముందు videoలో వాళ్లు lathe machinesలను ఎలా use చేశారో అని నేను మీకు already చూపించాను.. మీరు ఆ videoను చూడాలనుకుంటే right side top cornerని click చేయండి.

So ఈ modelలో వేసిన ఈ holes గురించి మనకు ఏం తెలుస్తుందంటే, ఈ holes కేవలం decorationకి మాత్రం create చేయలేదు, కానీ ఇవన్నీ ఈ గుడి designలో ఒక ముఖ్యమైన భాగం అని మనకు తెలుస్తుంది. But ఇక్కడ ఒక పెద్ద ప్రశ్న ఉంది: ఈ గుడి చుట్టూ holes ఎందుకు వేశారు? గుర్తుందా, వెయ్యి సంవత్సరాలకు ముందు కట్టిన బృహదీశ్వరాలయంలో కూడా ఇదే విధంగా వేసిన కొన్ని holes ఉన్నాయి, ఈ గుడిలో కూడా అలాంటి చిన్న holes దాని కింది భాగంలో ఉంది. పాతకాలపు గుడిలలో కింద భాగం చుట్టూ చిన్న holes ఎందుకు వేశారు? దీన్ని అర్థం చేసుకోవడానికి, పాతకాలపు గుడిలన్నీ నిజానికి దేనిని సూచిస్తాయో అని మనం కనిపెట్టాలి. పాతకాలపు హిందూ గుడిలన్నీ ఎందుకు rocket లాగ కనిపిస్తుందని మీరు ఆశ్చర్యపోవచ్చు, కానీ నిజానికి వాటినన్ని rocket లాగ కనిపించేలా ప్రత్యేకంగా design చేసారు. ప్రతీ గుడి గోపురం లోపల ఉన్న దాన్ని విమానం అని పిలుస్తారు means aircraft or spacecraft అంటే విమానం లేదా అంతరిక్ష నౌక అని అర్థం.
