Some of my favourite characters in skyrim, and why 👹

Balgruuf The Greater: i think this speaks for itself tbh, my favourite Jarl

Balimund: I don't actually know, kinda just looked at him and said "yes, he's the one." Or at least one of them anyway lmfao

Brynjolf: cocky thief with a *small amount* of issues, need i say more?

Captain Aldis: Self Explanatory. he's pretty, good personality, wants books, and lots of muscle? Yes please

Captain Gjalund Salt-Sage: idk he just smiled at my character once and it did things LMFAOOO

Captain Lonely-Gale: Father? Sorry, Father? Sorry-

Falk Firebeard: Steward whos probably a borderline alcoholic? Possibly involved in scandals? Pretty? Yes please

Glover Mallory: no.1 Smith, thief gone good, first I've found to sell Daedric stuff, what more can you want?

Halbarn Iron-Fur: personality is on point, easily lovable, one of my favourite smiths along side Glover

Idolaf Battle-Born: Dilf with an attitude, fuck yeah

Igmund: As with Balimund, I'm not even sure

Korir: if Siddgeir and Balgruuf had a child, he's them. Personality wise anyway, bit of a wanker tho

Kraldar: idk he's just there and he's sweet

Roggi Knot-Beard: Our favourite alcoholic, lovable character, ray of sunshine.

Rune: He's baby. Todd let me help him find out who his parents are i beg

Torbjorn Shatter-Shield: Dilf, I feel so bad tho oh my god, I killed Nilsine in Muiri's quest... never again. I don't need the bonus.

Ulfric Stormcloak: I can fix him

Another

She did not know what she did to me. She was my light. She was my friend. She was with another.

He traveled with us, and love wasn't something that belonged in war and such. But he chose to come with us to help. I didn’t think much of it at the time, but I shouldn’t have accepted him so easily. We were fine before him. We had synergy that kept us protected. She wasn’t mine, but I could feel that she felt something too.

Months on the road and doing what we could in the crisis kept us alone and away from society. She tried to keep the feelings mutual. But I could tell what he was doing. I could see that he looked at her. I could see how he would touch her, patting her shoulder and even giving her hugs to calm her during the storms. Anything he could to get close to her.

I tried my best to keep her focused. I promised myself I would wait until it was safe to confess my love for her. She didn’t need distractions. She was the Dragonborn with the world on her shoulders. I wasn’t about to add to her worries. But he overstepped his welcome with me.

He took her aside and kissed her. He held her in his arms, and she didn’t fight it. She let him do it. I so badly wanted to rush for her. To stand between her and this heathen that decided he could do what he wanted. Her laugh is what stopped me. Her smile and the adoration in her eyes kept me from rushing to her.

They did try to keep it a secret, but eventually they got sloppy. Even if I didn’t know from the start, it wasn’t difficult to figure out. I was caught in a wave of despair, confusion and heartbreak. I was caught between being her supportive friend and a furious interest. But I knew that I couldn’t live without her in my life.

Somehow I would have to make it through their moments of love. Holding hands along the roads. Kissing each other before a mission. Sleeping in each other’s arms. My chest burned each time I saw them. I had no solace. Only if I chose to abandon my nightly watch to leave them helpless, and I couldn’t do that. Not to her.

It burned to see her with another. It sparked a pattern wanting to leave and deciding to stay with the grind. She needed me. Even if she had another.

I know we like to joke about "haha we can marry THIS guy but not Brynjolf??" But like 99% of male marriage candidates in Skyrim are just so generally bland, and usually fall into the category of either "we slapped a marriage option on everyone in this faction for simplicity", "npc we put a whole two minutes into making likable", or "????". I'm not gonna pretend the female marriage candidates are so super fleshed out but at least they look nice. Unlike these guys...Like let's go over the list

Ainethach: literally who

Angrenor Once-Honored: you know who I want to get down with? The racist guy I saw antagonizing a dark elf woman the second I walk into the city

Argis the Bulwark: I'm like, ok with it, he's just not super fleshed out. Hot though

Athis: you never really form a bond with him through even a fetch quest but he is the only valid Companions member so I'll give it a pass

Balimund: same category as Argis, fine I guess.

Belrand: boring

Benor: fun fact I married this guy once when, devastated by my inability to marry Brynjolf, I threw myself at the first person who reacted to my amulet of Mara. Found out he lives in the guardhouse. Not an ideal marriage bed when you're in full Nightingale armor but even still the guards watch you, ERM....receive lovers comfort. Also his hair is an atrocity even by Skyrim standards.

Calder: requires me to live in the worst city in Skyrim. Also requires I participate in this stupid war. Also boring

Cosnach: who

Derkeethus: ok this one is actually good, more Argonian are good, plus you do get that bond of helping him escape. Not much deeper than that though

Farkas: pretty much the first person on this list that you have to encounter multiple times to marry. There's a sixteen years old in me still in love with this doofus but he does still have that Companion thing of "fuck yeah Ysgramor"

Filnjar: literally had to look this guy up IM NOT CLEARING OUT A MINE OF SPIDERS FOR *ANYBODY* also just like....who

Gat gro-Shargakh: not much to this guy but I'm pro-orc

Ghorbash: VERY VALID

Marcurio: he's not for me but his dialogue is detailed enough that I can make sense of someone being into him. I did make him my DB's bff.

Halbarn Iron Fur: So I didn't know about this guy until recently, but: hot, dumb, supports women in leadership, I'm into it. I guess in between releasing Skyrim and releasing Dragonborn they learned how to write husband material

Moth gro-Bagol: I hate Markarth. He's fine, I guess. Like his sister more.

Omluag: ugly but into unions.

Onmund: he's the best friend type in every harem anime and just for me, no thank you

Octieve San: WHO DECIDED TO EARMARK THIS GUY FOR MARRIAGE. WHO.

Pavo: not racist against elves but eh.

Perth: literally all the lines on his wiki towards the player are the standard marriage lines and also "don't go near the mine"

Quintus Navale: I feel like he has horny fans but absolutely not

Revyn Sadri: cracks under minimal pressure. Can't support me

Roggi Knot-Beard: If you asked me to create the generic Nord with a generic Nord want I would make Roggi

Romlyn Dreth: WHY WOULD I MARRY SOMEONE WHO WORKS FOR MAVEN..... WHO ISN'T IN THE THIEVES GUILD.

Scouts-Many-Marshes: hot, Argonian, into unions. Perfect

Sondas Dremin: he's sweet. Go forth.

Sorex Vinius: imperial beefcake, abhorrent to women

Stenvar: severely underrated companion, loves gold as much as I do

Torvar: nope.

Valdimar: boring companion, ugly.

Vilkas: also has that companion thing going on, isn't dumb enough to have the excuse that maybe he just doesn't understand the implications of what Ysgramor did.

Vorstag: he looks like a sweet boy

Wilhelm: pretty much the only guy that's nice to Narfi but doesn't really do much beyond that.

Rules are very simple!!

Please do not tag me in starters without asking first.

Please do not pester me about replies.

Do not ask for art from me, I draw as I please.

This is a Skyrim rp blog for Halbarn iron-fur. Though he is an accessible spouse i the dragonborne DLC, I will not ship without some form of chemistry. Be it by plotting/talking or role playing interactions, it does not matter. If you already married him in game ( assuming you roleplay according to what you do ‘in-game’) you will still have to add chemistry.

Do not pester me about drama. I do not care nor will I get involved. Trust me, I pick my own battles my own way and will refuse any outside influence.

No god modding or mary-sueing. Though he is quite nice, don’t assume Halbarn will just like your character. Please do not assume anything about my muse without asking first. Tough it is perfectly fine if YOUR MUSE assumes things. As it will be written differently. In laymens terms, please do not control what my muse does on your own accord.

I do not role play fights. I am no good at it and will end up dropping the tread. I am perfectly fine with verbal disputes, and some shoving if it escalates to that. But nothing involving weapons or magic.

I roleplay most themes. My writing style can be lazy, with a paragraph or two.. or they can be lengthy responses with fonts exaggerating ‘moving’ words. At times I may turn the rp into a link to an instrumental song if requested. The song will match the feelings/vibes I am getting from said interaction. But this is only upon request.

I have dyslexia, so please be patient with my spelling/grammar/sentence structure. I am no where near acceptable, I know this. But I do try my best.
