Bir kaçış öyküsü

Kendinden dünyadan kaçmak içindi bütün çabası. Saklandığı ev aslında onun esir kambın olacaktı.

Tam “dinsizin hakkından imansız gelir” lafının filmi gibi

Korku severler her daim ayrı bir duruş ile sevdiği filmlerden . Bunun bir özelliği tabii ki filmden sonra aynı buna benzer bir gerçek bir olayın yaşanması. Yapımcılar olayın birinci perdesini çekmeye ikna etmiş gözüküyor.

Ve filme geçelim.

Akıl hastanesinden kaçarak zengin bir ailenin kaybolan çocuğunun yerine geçen bir kızın hikayesini konu ediyor. Rusya’da bir psikiyatri kliniğinde yatan Leena Klammer, uzun süredir kaçmayı planlar. Sonunda amacına ulaşan Leena’nın önündeki hedef yeni bir kurban aile. Amerikalı varlıklı bir ailenin kayıp kızı rolüne bürünerek oyununa başlar. Ancak Leena’nın artık "Esther" olduğu yeni hayatında planlamadığı bir durum vardır. Anne Tricia, çocuklarını korumak için Esther’in karşısına dikilen her şeyi göze alan biridir.

Bir yetim olan Esther yine kendinden nefret ettiriyor ama bu kez büyük bir farkla: Ondan daha nefretlik bir aileyle birlikte.... Filmin aile kavramıyla alakalı bazı dertleri olduğunu görüyoruz. Yer yer donu ifadeler her an patlamaya hazır bir bomba izlenimi yaratıyor.

Ailenin de yozlaşmış ve sevgi değil mecburiyetten birbirine katlanan bir grup insanın. Dengelerini korumak için neler yapabileceğine tanık oluyoruz . Her ailenin bir sırrı vardır . Esther ise sırlarını ile gelen bir yabancıydı . Sırlar ortak hedef uğruna aynı masada toplanmalarına sahne mi olacak? Yoksa savaş çok daha sert mi geçecek ? Seyircinin gerilmesine ,izlemesine ve beklentiyi yüksek tutan bir film karşınızda. Bazen bir aileye dahil olmak yalnızlıktan çok daha kötüdür .

Cornerstone is handling international sales and distribution and will commence sales at the European Film Market. CAA Media Finance and Anonymous Content are repping North America. The Prima Donna sees Collette playing legendary opera diva Livia Angelli as she prepares to step into the role of a lifetime, just as her estranged daughter Mimi (Young) shows up at her doorstep, right out of rehab. An aspiring opera singer herself, Mimi summons the courage to ask Livia if she can be more than her daughter — she wants to be her understudy. When she’s met by her mother’s derisive laughter and callous dismissal, Mimi snaps, looking to exact the ultimate revenge on the woman who barely raised her. But Livia Angelli doesn’t go down without a fight, igniting a cut-throat battle of wills that sends their lives, relationship, and opera production into a fever pitch. The film is a Dark Castle Entertainment and Rough House Pictures production and is produced by Oscar nominee David Lancaster (Whiplash, Nightcrawler), Julian Lawitschka (Halloween Ends) and Wolfgang Hammer (Inside Llewyn Davis, House of Cards), alongside Dark Castle’s Hal Sadoff (Hotel Rwanda), Ethan Erwin (The Nice Guys) and Alex Mace (Orphan: First Kill). David Gordon Green is executive producer, along with Danny McBride, Jody Hill, and Brandon James from Rough House Pictures; Collette through Vocab Films; and Nick Shumaker from Anonymous Content. It is written by Silver together with C. Mason Wells (Thirst Street) and will start shooting this summer in Rome. RLJE FILMS acquires north American rights to “SEANCE”

RLJE Films, a business unit of AMC Networks, and Shudder, AMC Networks’ premium streaming service for horror, thriller and the supernatural, have acquired the North American rights to the horror film, SEANCE. RLJE Films plans to release the film in theaters, On Demand and Digital on May 21, 2021 and Shudder will premiere the film on its platform later in the year. Shudder has also acquired UK, Ireland, Australia and New Zealand rights.

Known for writing some of the most revered horror films over the past decade, Simon Barrett (You’re Next, The Guest) wrote the screenplay of SEANCE and makes his feature-length directorial debut with the film.

SEANCE stars Suki Waterhouse (Assassination Nation, The Divergent Series: Insurgent), Madisen Beaty (Once Upon a Time… In Hollywood, The Curious Case of Benjamin Button), Ella-Rae Smith (”Into the Badlands”, Fast & Furious Presents: Hobbs & Shaw), Inanna Sarkis (Boo 2! A Madea Halloween), Seamus Patterson (“Channel Zero”) and Marina Stephenson-Kerr (“Channel Zero”).

“We’re so excited to finally be working with the amazingly talented writer and director of SEANCE, Simon Barrett,” said Mark Ward, Chief Acquisitions Officer at RLJE Films. “Following the ever growing success of his previous work on You’re Next and The Guest, we can’t wait to share SEANCE with audiences.”

“The Shudder team are big fans of Simon Barrett's work as a screenwriter, so we leapt at the chance to be the streaming home for his directorial debut,” said Craig Engler, Shudder's General Manager. “We know our members will be chilled and delighted by what Barrett has crafted with SEANCE.”

In SEANCE, Camille Meadows (Waterhouse) is the new girl at the prestigious Edelvine Academy for Girls. Soon after her arrival, six girls invite her to join them in a late-night ritual, calling forth the spirit of a dead former student who reportedly haunts their halls. But before morning, one of the girls is dead, leaving the others wondering what they may have awakened. SEANCE is a Dark Castle Entertainment Production in association with Addictive Pictures that was funded by Ingenious Media, Dark Castle Entertainment and HanWay Films. The film was produced by Alex Mace (Orphan), Matt Baker (Black Death), John Schoenfelder (Capone), Russell Ackerman (Hold the Dark), Tomas “Dutch” Deckaj (Capone), and Isaac Clements (Silent Night). Executive Producers are Daryl Katz, Chloe Katz, and Hal Sadoff of Dark Castle and Peter Watson and Marie-Gabrielle Stewart of HanWay. Additional executive producers include Daniel Negret and Andrea Scarso. Ward and Jess De Leo from RLJE Films as well as Emily Gotto from Shudder negotiated the deal with CAA and Dark Castle Entertainment on behalf of the filmmakers for North America, with HanWay Films handling Shudder sales for UK, Ireland, Australia and New Zealand.
