Diamond-selling and 2x GRAMMY Award winning recording artist Shaggy teams with Dancehall star TeeJay for an infectious, joy-filled single “Gyal Dem Time.” The song will officially be released on February 3rd, 2023.

“Gyal Dem Time” finds Shaggy embracing his Jamaican roots and trading lines with Montego Bay vocalist Teejay (“From Rags to Riches,” and “Unfaithful Games”). The vibrant riddim, produced by Sheldon “Teflon” Harris and Shaggy, “Gyal Dem Time” is a fitting soundtrack for the pace and pulse of a buzzing dancefloor.

Throughout his career, Shaggy, managed by Martin Kierszenbaum/Cherrytree Music Company, has dominated the Reggae and Dancehall landscape with anthemic songs that merge playful themes with infectious riddims including iconic classics like “Angel” and “It Wasn’t Me” to the recent successes of his Grammy Award winning collaborative album, “44/876,” with Sting as well as his most recent Grammy nominated album, “Com Fly Wid Mi” produced by Sting.

my best friend made the mistake of asking how spending/saving habits would change if one got suddenly rich and was stuck listening to my rant on routines and sustainability that somehow ended up dipping into some econ stuff then ended with the issue of the idea that women are inherently good with financially managing a household in our society yet terrible at money management when single.

It’s been almost a year and a half since you moved from your home in the Caribbean and you missed it dearly although you loved your life here in New London.

You met your Boyfriend Hobie 3 months into your move and 3 months later you just never left.

You let out a small sigh snuggling closer under your boyfriend Hobie as you two lay in bed.

“What’s with the sigh?” He asked

Just miss home Hobes. It’s been so long since I’ve left. And I really really really want some conch fritters right now.” You laughed.

“Is there some where we can get them?”

“Nooo, I’ve been looking and googling. Nothing.”

Hobie stayed up all night looking at recipes planning to surprise you the next day.

It took him a while but he finally was able to the conch that was needed for the dish.

He fumbled a bit in the kitchen watching YouTube videos and quite frankly it stressed him out a bit because he wanted it to be perfect knowing how much you missed home.

He turned on his speaker connecting it to his phone getting into a grove his head moving to the heat as he dropped the batter into the oil

You walked inside to of the apartment to a very familiar smell that confused you for a second before you see Hobie in the kitchen dancing as he cooked.

You laughed before walking over wrapping your hands around his waist.

“What cha making babe?”

“Oh I found the ingredients for those things you wanted last night.”

“You did?” You said surprised that he actually did that for you. “Thank you.”

He spun around giving you a kiss before he grabbed your hand making you dance with him.

“Come on babe , move your feet like this.” He said making you giggle.

You looked at his movement copying them and you two basically had a routine by the end of the song.

“You’re a terrible choreographer Hobie.” You laughed out loud. Folding over holding your stomach as he laughed along with you.

The smoke alarm went off making Hobie dash to the stove turning it off.

“Are they burnt?” You asked still laughing.

“They are.”

“Thank you anyway babe.”
