My version of the Duckverse kiddos

All the kids here are 16

In this version of mine, Webby and her sisters are not clones of Scrooge but rather they are in the place of April, May and June and are Daisy's neices, which also make Beakley Daisy's mom as she is still their grandmother

I'm still not shipping them with HDL cuz Daisy is married to Donald in this, which makes them related by law

For the boys, most is the same, only that Della vanished through no fault of her own, along with the boys' father. They both return eventually and both are in their lives. Donald does still raise the boys and gives the names Della wanted as middle names

(the boys' father has red hair so thats why Dewey has a patch of red)

Funny story. I was about done answering all three of these questions last night but then the tumblr app glitched and took to me to a notification without saving it. And then I was like, I am NOT writing all that again. Sorry for the delay, friend

💖 What do you like most about your own writing?

Whenever I go back to re-read my stuff I’m always most happy with how all the dialogue came out. Which if I’m being the honest is probably the stuff obsess over the most when I’m writing. It’s both fun and frustrating trying to capture the voice of another character and have them play off another with their own voice. There’s a certain rhythm to the conversations that I like to do when I write dialogue and I’m usually pleased with how everything turns out

Contrast that to when I write the scenes I’m always thinking “Is this dragging on too long? Is this all necessary? Is this redundant? Would they really say that? etc”

🏅 What is something you recently felt proud of in regard to your writing?

I am really proud of the reaction I got for It was a Dark and Stormy Night!, because frankly I thought it wasn’t that good when I finished it and figured it was going to be one of those fics that people wouldn’t care for

I loved the idea for the story but felt I rushed myself since I finished writing it on my lunch break and just felt I needed to get it done so I could focus on the other Duckverse June Prompt so that it won’t be late like Week One’s prompt. Heck I didn’t even want to show my beta readers the finished story because I just thought it wasn’t worth their time and energy to check on it

But once again the DuckTales fandom showed me that there’s still a lot of cool people here. I got a lot of nice feedback from people whose opinions mean a lot to me and now I’m quite pleased with the overall story

💭 What is a headcanon you have about your own work?

Isn’t everything I write that isn’t backed by canon technically a headcanon?

Anyway. I guess I got one for the Indi-Quack! story Convergence at Bud’s Dispensary!. So the story opens up with Gyro entering the dispensary minding his own business only for that to be ruined by Della. After she bothers him, the other characters in that story begin to appear

Since this story opens up with Gyro’s perspective I always like to imagine the second he arrived I. The dispensary was the moment Della spotted him. She then was like “Kids, I’ll be right back. I gotta say hi to Gyro” and then ran off and got into position to catch Gyro off-guard

Louie used that opportunity to convince Dewey to grab the gummies while Huey spotted Fenton and Gandra and decided to go talk with them cause they’re his friends

I’ve been catching up on DuckTales these days (I was way behind, still halfway through season 1, now I’m almost up to date), and I’ve been loving how this show just keeps improving. 

Like, not only is a great show and update/modernization of the original show per se, but it takes the slow burn storytelling of so many of the great animated shows of the last few years and make a great use of it.

And of course, while it’s not the main hook, I love the way it blends everything in the Duckverse, like, the Carl Barks and Don Rosa comics, the first DuckTales show, the NES videogame (and every other Disney animated show from the late 80′s and 90′s, like Gummi Bears, Goof Troop, the amazing way it made use of Darkwing Duck -while both spoofing and paying homage to the show and the Batman movies-, or how it’s going to incorporate Tailspin and Rescue Rangers) and so many other things. It shows the care and attention for detail on behalf of the production.

-I find it funny that one look at a feather can immediately tell you who the person is – is that the Duckverse version of how dogs know others by scent or are black birds just that rare?

-Ok, but this Ludwig is sarcastic with a calm fury just hidden under the surface and I love it

-"Uncle Donald's in the pantry if ye need anythan'"

-Callback. I didn't watch 100 episodes of DuckTales to not know Webby is gonna stow away on this trip somehow

-There she is. Baby<3

-The auction dude must be an ancestor of the dude who tailored Gladstone and Louie's suits

-It's my own mistake for tripping on a spoiler by accident, but them tying the Gummi Bears into this story is such a cool opportunity!

-Scrooge, now is NOT the time to be a skinflint – whoops, there she goes

-I love that Beakley couldn't stand him in the past. It's only realistic

-"Louie would just cry."

-Those robots' jaws designs resemble Armstrong's

-Beakley's hair looks like a 70s do, I'm really curious when this adventure took place

-"You were always busy with your businesses and your grumbling" is the most Scrooge description that's ever been said on this show

-It's about time we get Scrooge and Webby interactions and bonding. He wants to know about this little lady more<3

-Headcanon that people in the Duckverse – especially birds – just have very long lives. Aid of elixirs or not

-It turns out Beakley wasn't overprotective at all. Her past really is too dangerous for Webby to interfere

-Scrooge is me when it comes to misnaming people. How embarrassing
