Hello, I’m wondering if you could help me ID these! I got them at a little farm and most of the name sticks do not match :( I know the top two, and the string of pearls, thank you very much in advance!! 💚
~~~~~~~~
Sure I can give it a shot!
Starting at the top (with the two you already know, maybe someone else needs the ID?) Left is possibly a Kalanchoe x houghtonii (if not please let me know, I’m always trying to learn plant IDs) and Right is a Sedum rubrotinctum
2nd row on the Left is a Crassula tetragona. Right is possibly a Sedeveria 'Blue Mist'.
3rd row on the left is a Sedum dasyphyllum ‘Minor’, right is possibly a  Graptosedum 'Alpenglow', a Graptosedum 'Bronze', OR a Graptosedum 'Vera Higgins' (I’d deffo google them and see which compares better, comparing pictures to pictures is always harder than comparing the real thing to pictures)
4th row, you’ve got your string of pearls,  Senecio rowlyanus. On the right is possibly Graptopetalum paraguayense
5th row looks like Oscularia deltoides on the left, on the right is a Sempervivum (I think? It’s hard to see the edges in this picture but I usually ID Semps by the fuzzy edges of the leaves and how thin the leaves are.) If it is a Sempervivum I can’t ID it past that because there are thousands of different cultivars and each of them have different colors depending on season and sun exposure. Thankfully care for Semps is the same for all of them.
hello! i’m s'porean too :-) need a little help with my graptosedum alpenglow..
let me explain:
it was once etiolated, but i think i got it fixed bc the leaves are so much closer together now after i moved it to a bright windowsill. i’m planning to cut the stem and regrow roots once the bunch of leaves at the top are more accumulated (or what else should i do?). the bottom part of the stem is just bare because i’ve been propagating quite a bit! the leaves definitely do not regularly fall off on their own so that’s not my issue
the problem:
the newer leaves (black arrow) all come out smooth and pretty, but the leaves get spotty and wrinkly as they get older (yellow arrows). the older leaves also droop and don’t point upwards like the newer leaves… some older leaves got really thin, folded into half and fell off.
i used to water once a week and now i do twice, the leaves wrinkle less quickly! so i thought it might be underwatering…
but then again sg is really really humid so i thought watering 3 times a week could be overwatering?
what should i do?
Hi! Your plant looks really healthy, actually :) it's one that does well in sg and can take a little more water than others, but I wouldn't water more than twice a week. I think what's affecting the older leaves is oedema (damaging leaf cells by overwatering). The leaves will have tiny black specks or dotted lumps, because the cells burst when they are too full of water and after that happens they aren't able to take in and store water as well as before, so they'll wrinkle more quickly and there's nothing much you can do about it cos the leaf is already damaged. Older leaves will wrinkle and dry and fold in half, that's totally normal for this plant. It takes a lot of energy to transport water up such a long stalk so the plant is using up the energy stored in its older leaves. You did fix the etiolation so you can go ahead and cut the stem to regrow the top part :) up to you if you want to wait til it's bigger ! In my experience this plant propogates very easily so even at the size it is at now, it'll likely be okay. Keep the stem as well as some stem babies might grow ! When you propagate the stem cutting or your leaves, plant them in more well draining mix. SG-specific soil advice: I've planted these in 50% non organic (pumice, volcanic rock) 50% organic (potting mix, cactus soil mix) up to 100% inorganic, and they've been fine. Those in totally inorganic with just a bit of compost can be watered everyday.
Graptosedum 'Alpenglow'
Graptosedum ‘Alpenglow’ (aka ‘Bronze’ or ‘Vera Higgins’). Beautiful pink leaves that change from a light rose color to deep coral.  Succulent stems can grow long and trail with leaves that grow the full length of the stem or keep compact with pruning. Alpenglow succulents are zone 10 hardy.  Bring indoors when weather drops below 50 and grow on a sunny window sill or grow lights.  They need…
Can u help me identify this succulent that I just got please? Thank you!!
Hmm... I’m no expert, but wanna say it’s a Graptosedum 'Alpenglow', just all green at the moment. :) If the tips turn purple-ish it’s an alpenglow, I’d say. Mine is spending a lotta time green atm indoors but in spring and summer sun outside it’s tips change color. [if anyone can correct me, please do!]
She’s so cute! The little pot is darling, too! :)
New friend - Alpenglow, Graptosedum. I’ve heard they are very easy to take care of, hard to kill, etc. ... fast forward to a few months from now when I whine that I think mine isn’t doing so well ;) ~ April 13, 2017
Also, I noticed today,
