the dead plate devs' statement on shipping is fine but it just amuses me very much that it also specifies that you shouldn't try to imitate these relationships in real life. like is this the game where you need to worry about that. the obsession and cannibalism game. is there a genuine concern that people will perceive this story as morally acceptable and a guide for real life relationships. are we five-year-olds watching the disney channel unable to tell the difference between positive behavior (treating your employee with respect) and negative behavior (killing and eating him)

coming to the conclusion that dead plate players can generally be divided into two groups (let's players who played it because they were told to and get the bland ending because they think the gameplay is the point and never talk to vince, sickos who play it because of the fanart and get the interesting endings because they prioritize talking to vince over anything else)

watched the menu partly because i heard it was good but mostly because the dead plate devs said it was an inspiration and i went in assuming that it was just the "fancy chef loses it and starts killing people" aspect but then the red-haired protagonist who hasn't eaten his cooking all evening told him he doesn't cook with love he cooks with obsession and i was just like oh they really liked this movie huh

the thing about being into malevolent and then also being into dead plate is the realization that while dead plate is A Cannibalism Story, if you're counting by actual amount of human meat consumed, it has significantly less actual cannibalism than malevolent, which is not A Cannibalism Story. so the question is what level of importance to the story cannibalism has to have before a story can be A Cannibalism Story. the other question is why do i keep getting into media with cannibalism
