Coogie‘s 8-track mixtape “I Got A Feeling” came out!

I loved his last album so much that Coogie was my most listened artist last year. As a consequence, my expectations were high, and I can’t post this without adding my opinions :D

1. I Got A Feeling (prod. BMTJ)

It’s a solid typical Coogie song. I hope he’ll perform it live (on the internet :D) sometime so we can enjoy his live singing. Coogie has this rare skill of singing rap where he can actually hit the notes AND do the rap without autotune or running out of breath, it’s amazing^^ I didn’t know the producer well, but checked and he has worked with Big Naughty, Huh!, Bill Stax and others. 2. What (feat. Wonstein) (prod. Vangdale, Kwonseyoung)

I guess this is my favorite song! I don’t really follow Wonstein, he seemed more a singer than a rapper to me, but here he raps so nicely I like it! His voice is nice, it sounds cute :D And I don’t even have to mention I love getting the original GXXD producing. Their little guitar riff and chill base line are such a nice signature sound that makes them always recognizable <3 Everyone’s styles and musical personalities blend so prettily in this song.

3. Out of my way (feat. The Quiett) (prod. Roots, Vangdale)

This is funny because in their other collab on Coogie’s last album, Coogie also said “get out of my way” :D I have to admit, so far I haven’t really likes Roots‘ beats but I don’t know whether it’s because of Vangdale or Coogie, or because Roots changed, but it’s great! :D

4. Swoosh (feat. lIlBOI) (prod. Spray)

This reminds me so much of Spray’s other song Jangjeon. Maybe a bit too much… :D but either way, both songs are great and I’ll listen happily :D And lIlBOI sounds also cute (even if the lyrics aren’t haha) so :) :D

5. SWIPE (feat. Ourealgoat, Lil Nekh) (prod. Boycold)

Smol question: Are H1GHR and Yelows Mob adopting Ourealgoat foreal? Ever since Hwimin “discovered” him they seem to be after him and while I would not have expected that, I’m not complaining 😁 Both Ourealgoat and Lil Nekh are referencing/re-using old raps, idk if that’s a concept of this album... :D It’s a fresh mix of people who I didn’t expect to come together like this. I’d also want to hear Coogie sing this live^^ And it’s nice to hear from Boycold who hasn’t been very active lately.

6. UP & DOWN (feat. Mirani, Penomeco) (prod. Groovyroom)

I know this was pre-released but I didn’t talk much about it then, so: Groovyroom! They’ve been doing not much? One song here and there? And they haven’t worked with Coogie a lot. It’s nice to have them on this album. Ever since they announced they want to change from hip-hop to electronic music, I’ve been a bit skeptical and I also didn’t like some of their songs, but here (and on Sik-K’s album too btw) they mixed their new style nicely with the main artist’s style, so now it’s like a “regular” hip-hop beat with some fresh additions that distinguish the song a bit from others, and it sounds unique.

7. Hold Up (prod. Lil Xasimi)

This might be my second favorite because of the beat :D It’s a niceu solid song. Lil Xasimi is a rather new producer who is close with, but not a member of, FA. He produced for Blase and Khan before and recently released his first own song. @/lilxasimi. Coogie’s rap is smooth fast perfect as always, do I even need to mention it. You know how with some rappers, you get annoyed when in a good song, some lines don’t rhyme or only weirdly/badly, or they run out of lyrics and just go uh uh for two lines, or they just don’t understand to ride on the beat? This will never happen with Coogie, he’s so reliable at always delivering perfect raps <3

8. Kilo (Bonus Track) (prod. Dive, furyfromguxxi)

First 4 seconds: I know this sample. :D This happens so often that I almost get annoyed sometimes, but I can let it slide for many reasons :D – it’s Coogie so it’s just gonna sound good – I really like the sample/beat – I never heard from this producer and Coogie must be supporting a newbie producer like this. It’s okay that he doesn’t make the complete thing by himself yet. ALSO I was wondering why they called it “Bonus Track” but I guess that (probably free beat) might be the reason, so it’s ok. I’m just not sure what Dive is credited for? :D It’s a nice song! (If you want to know where I heard it first: Kash Bang – Married to the money.)

As expected, a perfect, smooth, no-skip album again! Coogie is showing off his skills as well as his collection of talented producer friends :D Absolutely recommend!!
