so in one of furinas character stories, it talks about how clorinde was the one who helped her unpack her stuff and furnish her apartment and everything, and later how she invited her out to a night with friends

and during lantern rite, we have clorinde saying that she still hangs out with furina because theyre friends, like, its not strictly a work thing

and like. devastated over them because think of furina just suddenly and uncontrollably processing the shit thats happened and staying up until the early hours of the morning lowkey uncontrollably sobbing because shes free from that burden she carried for 500 years, but at what cost? she feels like she doesnt have anyone now, like all of the people she worked with dont care about her, and now that shes gone from the palais mermonia, they just kinda dont care about her

and then she hears a knock at her door, so she splashes her face with cold water to make herself look as presentable as possible before going to answer it

i keep thinking of a Clorifuri/Furinde royalty-ish AU, wherein Furina is the last surviving princess of a fallen kingdom, and Clorinde is her-former-guard-turned-soldier-for-the-new-empire (but is actually plotting a rebellion)...

PICTURE THIS: When things were already becoming hopeless for the kingdom of Fontaine, the king made arrangements for his only daughter, the young Princess Focalors, to secretly escape. Anything to keep his daughter alive. She was given a new name, a new identity, and a new opportunity to carve her own fate.

When the kingdom fell, they spared the life of Fontaine's most skilled soldier, Clorinde, because the new empire deemed her too valuable of an asset to simply discard. Anyway, it was not like she could do much by herself, they thought. And Clorinde's morale already appeared too low, that she could not possibly do anything else but yield to the new rule.

And so Clorinde played along with that. She brought glory to the new regime, and proved her loyalty to them, removing all the doubts they could have had about her. But behind the scenes, Clorinde was forming her own forces, scheming and planning to bring back the power to the regime she first served. And part of her plans was to find the lost Princess Focalors, and install her as the rightful queen of their kingdom.

At this point in time, almost nobody even remembered that a Princess Focalors once existed. After all, the princess was young when the wars happened. Moreover, even though there were a handful who might remember, none of them held hope that she could be alive. But Clorinde, who used to serve the princess with her life, would never forget. And she was certain that no matter how much time had passed, she would find Princess Focalors, would recognize her even from afar.

In the end, Clorinde found the lost princess in the place she least expected— in the palace itself, when the new regime invited the most esteemed artists of the empire to perform their crafts for a celebration. Among them was an actress widely-known: one named Furina, whose performance on stage graceful as the moonlight; influence to her audience powerful as the moon to the tides.

Clorinde had no reason to even suspect, at first— but when she met the actress's eyes, she immediately knew: this was the one she had been looking for, all along.

I like it a lot, probably my second favorite ship for both of them, but I don't talk much about them bcs I love Arlefuri and Clorivia way too much. They have this Lady and Knight vibe, is great.

Arle/Furi/Clorinde is not that interesting to me, probably bcs when it comes to poly ships I like to see the dynamic between everyone instead of only one person being with everyone else and this ship gives me the feeling that would just both Clorinde and Arlecchino dating Furina and then never talking to eachother. I personally would add Navia to balance things out.
