i think we all agree on johnny being able to cook so

just imagine

johnny cooking something super simple and charlie standing next to him micromanaging/waiting for johnny to inevitably mess up because he just cannot fathom that johnny knows his way around the kitchen

and johnny asks charlie to add stuff while he’s busy with other things and charlie goes nuts when johnny provides no measurements for him whatsoever

i rewatched mean streets and i have thoughts

specifically about when charlie and his uncle discuss what happened to groppi; his uncle says that groppi was always half crazy, using highly similar terms he had used to refer to johnny in a previous scene with charlie. charlie pauses with this contemplative look on his face, which is understandable because it’s jarring to hear about that type of stuff, but then michael of all people walks in to talk to charlie about johnny - how can that just be coincidental??? it is so clear that charlie in that moment thinks back to johnny and his supposed craziness and feels concerned about him :((

i watched sea of love last night, super goofy movie - 8/10 primarily because it’s absolutely hilarious watching al pacino struggle to get anyone interested in him

and then he clarifies that he doesn’t care that much about johnny, not really, and teresa says that that’s good, because johnny is crazy, and charlie gets all offended that teresa is dissing johnny, as if he hasn’t just said that he doesn’t care about johnny

i have two mean streets related urges

i want to write a short fic (requests welcome) that’d probably be no more than 1.5k ish

i also want to paint a scene from the movie in gouache or watercolor or both (requests also welcome)

i simply feel the great need to contribute to the renaissance but i don’t have any goofy silly headcanons to post - the drawing/writing side is more of my forte but i need to commit to something before i regret not doing it
