Well, I finally finished to read The Flames of Hope, drew a picture of Freedom aka Lizard. And... I`m not going to tell my opinion about the book, because a lot of people have already told it and mine will change nothing. I want to tell what I think about this series in general.
Tui should end it. Seriously. With all this Pyrrhia-Pantala contact being established, dissapearing of animus magic and the conflict beetwen scavengers and dragons solved TFoH looks like an obvious finish of this story. Yes, it is messy, weird and somewhat disappointing (IMO), but it`s what we have now. It`s written. And I see no sense for author to continue it all (except squeezing the money out of the franchise, of course).
Plus it feels like Tui is burnt out (and I'm not alone who notices it). Continuing to write the series in such state and with such attitude is not a good decision and there`s a big possibility of WOF turning into WC 2.0. I don`t mind more Winglets or something like this, but the main storyline should be left as it is.
And yes. Tui, where`s ref of Freedom? Same question about Hawthorn. There are a lot of characters who were written to be dead, but at least we know how they looked like

my current Freedom design, because she had so much potential and she should've have died after like 5 seconds for dramatic effect to top off a mediocre book (seriously, there were so many ways they could've kept her alive).
design notes:
since she is from an ancient, mixed species verison of the modern day kinds, she wouldn't look specifically like one of the tribes. she's described to be mostly LeafWing with some SkyWing and RainWing attributes in there, so she's kinda a mix of everything here. i tried to make her look mystical and strange compared to modern day dragons. ex, no ears, extra horns, frilly wings, and i imagine she could have retractable claws.
i gave her leafy patterns on her talons to symbolize her LeafSpeak because i think that should be cannon, and Sundew should have it too. i think over the thousands of years of using LeafSpeak would make her patterns spread across her body and make them brighter.
making her fluffy because 1 its fun the draw, 2 it contrasts with her personality and aids with the whole "looks like a baby but is actually 5000 years old" thing, and 3 it looks like leafy bits
since she's physically only a year or so old when she died the first time, she would be very small, described as fitting on Cottonmouths lap. she'd be stubby and stout despite her loud personality. maybe in the mindscape she could change her appearance but idk. if she could shapeshift in the mindscape she would use it to annoy Cottonmouth more or something.
for her eye colour i didn't know whether to make the irises green or yellow, but i went with red because it looked cool and worked better with the other colours. i debated making the sclera greenish white, and i know when she died her physical body had them, but for this design i went with yellow.
