— Happy Birthday
Freddie Mercury —
I'm a shooting star, leaping through the sky like a tiger
Defying the laws of gravity
I'm a racing car, passing by like Lady Godiva
I'm gonna go, go, go, there's no stopping me
I'm burning through the sky, yeah
Two hundred degrees
That's why they call me Mister Fahrenheit
I'm traveling at the speed of light
I wanna make a supersonic man outta you
Don't stop me now....

February 18, 1980: Freddie Mercury makes a cameo appearance on The Kenny Everett Video Show
"Hello, all you friends of Dorothy out there..." marks the start of this brief sketch. Though it’s seen a decline in usage, “Friends of Dorothy” was a common euphemism in the 20th century for queer men - a demographic that both Freddie and Kenny belonged to.
As another nod to their sexualities both men are wearing clothing that reflect fashion trends in the gay community at the time. Freddie had already started wearing similar pieces as part of his stagewear, though some of his accessories are different here. Most notable are the addition of a pair of handcuffs and a leash hanging off his belt.
