i am once again thinking about aragorn's "i give hope to men / i keep none for myself" line in rotk but finrod saying it instead... head in hands

#if you thought the 4am finrodposting was over just because i moved accounts sorry to break it to you but it's still very much a thing #anyways i'm EMOTIONAL i love him and more than anyone he gave all his hope to men hell he gave his whole LIFE for men #for the hope of a better future for beren and luthien and all of mankind. he stood up for them even against his own kin time and time #again!! he gave everything he could freely and what did he leave for himself? what was left? knowing that his fate was to die for the oath #he made. knowing that his brothers were dead but having no idea he wouldn't see his sister again until she finally sailed west #not knowing if beren and luthien even stood a chance or if men or what remained of his family would prevail against morgoth #what hope could he possibly have?? #but it didn't even matter because he kept going and it was because of his sacrifice that aragorn was even in the position to ask this #question!! wearing finrod's ring on his finger no less because they DID prevail and the hope finrod gave them and his sacrifice #kept the line of beren alive GOD i'm weeping thinking about him finding out about aragorn and arwen from frodo in valinor #(yes i'm also back on my finrod hanging out with the hobbits in valinor agenda) #this is probably utterly incoherent i'm sorry it really is 4am and i need to sleep #angie.txt
