It’s no longer Wednesday, but I didn’t feel like posting then. I have less than a week left for my COBB fic and I am growing slightly concerned as the fic also grows. (Why do I always do this to myself?) On a better note, I did finish my COBB art! Take a look if you haven’t seen it and be sure to check out the very cool fic it’s for: Signs of the Past.

Here’s a snippet from my own COBB fic. The working title was Fit for a King, but I’ve actually decided to call it Strictly Professional.

Simon POV:

"This good?" I ask.

He's nodding his head and thrusting into my hand.

"Very good."

To back up his answer, he moves one hand down to cup my arse, tugging my hips forward in time with his next thrust. The hand on the back of my neck reaches up to take hold of my hair and pull.

"Yeah," I say. It comes out sounding more like a growl than an actual word. "Very, very good."

So good, I know this is all going to be over for me a lot quicker than I wanted.

I can't remember the last time I felt this wild for someone. Wanted so badly.

Every touch is a spark, every kiss, an electric current.

I'm a bloody fire hazard in his arms.

Happy Sunday! Here I am with words! Been on vacation most of the week except for the fact that a last minute issue came up at work and I wound up having to do a few hours the days I was off. So not as nice and relaxing as it was meant to be, but I do have another seven days off. Thank fuck.

I finally got back to writing yesterday. COBB is still moving along AND!!!! I got to see the finished art piece for my fic and it’s AMAZING y’all!! I’m not saying who I’m paired with so it’s part of the surprise 😉 but trust me. It’s such a soft, lovely moment and I am obsessed with it. 🥰

As for the fic itself, I am somehow still building to the first sex scene 😅There’s a lot of negotiating consent and comfort which is obviously very important and which I love writing. But also. They do need to get down to business soon 😆 (Will it happen today? Who can say?)

Here’s a bit from earlier in the scene:

"Tell me what you want, Baz."

I feel feverish—the intensity of my desire blazing through me.

Maybe I really do have a fever, and this is all a wild dream.

Baz looks like a dream on his back under me, pinned between my hands at either side of his head and my knees straddling his hips.

His reply comes like a splash of cold water over my head.

"What I want doesn't matter," he says, voice quiet and dark.

"How can you say that?" I ask, though I'm already drawing away, sitting up, folding my hands in my lap. I'm hard, but I'm hoping he'll pretend not to notice.

"Because we can't do this."

I nod, though I don't know what I'm agreeing to.

He sighs, also sitting up. He brushes a thick wave of hair off his forehead. It slides back into place almost immediately. The rest of his hair is pulled up in a loose knot. There are fuzzy curls around his nape that must have come loose in the fray.

"Don't give me that hangdog expression," he scowls at me. "One of us needs to exhert some modicum of self-control."

I try not to let that comment sting. I try not to let it get my hackles up.

"Right," I force out a wry laugh. "Never been my strong suit."
