I had the best family weekend ever and for once I don’t want to go to work tomorrow! My daughter told me “hi mom!” and it was one of the happiest moments of my life. My three most recent favorite sewing/quilting books: Southwest Modern by Kristi Shroeder, Growing Up Sew Liberated by Meg McElwee, and The Half-Square Triangle by Jeni Baker. Sewing on binding is one of my favorite parts of quilting, but it was my least favorite until I finally figured out a method that works for me. I French-fold 2.5” strips, then sew the raw edge to the back of the quilt with a 1/3” seam allowance. When that’s done, I fold it over and sew onto the front, as close to the edge of the binding as I can. I sometimes use binding clips. One-woman zipper pouch factory, and you guys, this is the last collection with a large variety of prints. There’s about 30 pouches and about 10 different prints and 3 different sizes. My intention was a wide array of choices. There’s SO MANY beautiful fabrics out there, and tbh if you’re not a quilter you might not even know about all these gorgeous prints and I’m on a mission to share the beauty of surface design in textiles with the world.
