Hello there @writeblr-of-my-own and @did-i-do-this-write :)
I come bearing a present
I finished a map for 'How Hope Made Her a Hero!' I had to make it on my phone which was pretty hard but I did what i could. Including some bonus drawings of the characters, because I don't think I've ever shown a drawing of them here.
Anyways here you go and hope you enjoy :))
Tumblr media
I finally am getting around to naming things!
Far left is the city-like place, Westwend. Then the forest which I haven't named yet. And then Norah's village, Libertas or Azamir I can't decide. Then at the top is the mountains. The black parts are caves, who knows which one could hold a dragon. There's a river, and to the far right is some sand because there's an ocean over there that I couldn't fit in. And their overall world is named 'Alias' (Ahl-e-us)
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Here they are! At first I had Norah named after the species that her mom was, which was a norah. But that gets pretty confusing, and a little weird that she's named Norah because then at the end she'd have to change her name right? Cause the villagers called her that cause they just saw her as the 'norah beast.' But I like the name far too much to change it so I'm working on re-naming the species that Norah is half of. (maybe something like Norphet?)
Ah and there's Rufus! I already had Norah's design down but him and Alphair's hair was hard to figure out. I eventually settled on that. Alphair's lines are thicker because of a mistake but I didn't wanna re-draw him so yeah lol.
AND NOW...
Tumblr media
When you @writeblr-of-my-own asked that question about them being in the real world, immediately after I answered it I thought about what would happen if they ever met a dog. They have dog-like creatures in their world but they're not so friendly or furry.
This was a tricky pose to draw, and Alphair's size took a fall for it. Sorry you're so little lol. I like to think now that Norah is just like a giant to him
If you have any questions I'll be happy to answer :]

I'll Always Be Yours (Part 5)
Part 1
Part 2
Part 3
Part 4
Tumblr media
Fifth Song: Dahan (Gently)
You stop trying to fight your stubborn heart. Just wanting to live a lonely life without her.
A/N: Officially completed and I'm starting on my Wanda fic now!!
Might take weeks to finish that one though...
Oh well.
Dialogues that are in parenthesis are spoken in Japanese.
Warning: Angst
No more tears
I won't force it anymore
You are my love
Until eternity
No more listening
My mind is confused
I hope you know
You are the one I love
-
You hum as you draw. It took you a week until you can finally draw your sketches again. Another week to pick up a paintbrush and actually paint.
It’s been four months since then. Your only missing at least two more paintings so you could open another art exhibit. You hum as you take a sip of your coffee.
“Shouldn’t you stop?” You raise an eyebrow at Silvia.
“That’s your third cup already and it’s only 11 am.” You shrug at her and continue sketching.
“Will the last one be Natasha?” You stop and contemplate Miyuki’s words. You haven’t sketched her since you broke down.
“Most probably.” You’ll probably use one of your older sketches. The ones where the woman you draw was the one you knew. Not Natasha Romanoff, the Black Widow and Avenger but just Natalia, the little girl who turned into a gorgeous woman. Natalia whom you loved with your every being.
“Maybe sell it this time?” You frown at Silvia. “You rejected the last offer for the portrait!” You shrug. “It was 20 million!” Miyuki whistles at you and you smile.
“I still don’t want anyone to monopolize her.” Silvia sighs in defeat and Miyuki consoles her.
-
You start painting her portrait again and you can’t help but smile. You just hope that wherever she is. Whomever she was with. That you’re still holding onto your promise with her. You’ll always be waiting for her. Loving her. You stretch your body as you pause for the day. You really did meant forever.
“Silvia?” Silvia opens your door and peeks inside.
“Yeah?”
“Can you contact Professor Asuna? See if there’s any willing gallery that I can rent for a week?”
“Okay. Got it.”
“Thanks, even though you’re only my bodyguard.”
“It’s called assisting. I do that too.”
“I know!” You chuckle as she closes the door. You open your phone and lay down on the floor. You begin watching videos of the love of your life.
-
“Natasha.” Nat ignores Clint and stares at her portrait. “Hey.”
“What?”
“There’s a kid that wants to interview you?” Natasha sighs and turns around.
“Why?”
“About the painting, I think.”
“Where?”
“In front of Mona Lisa.”
-
Natasha approaches the kid who smiles at her.
“Who are you?”
“I’m Colette. A big fan of Master Y/N.”
“Have you met her?” Natasha sits besides the kid and they both look at Mona Lisa.
“Yes. Many times. Through her exhibitions. Never got to buy any of original painting though, just the postcards one.”
“What do you want from me?”
“Just answers.”
“To what?”
“Do you and Master Y/N know each other?”
“Knew.” Natasha answers with a sigh. “Before I became an Avenger, I knew her.” Colette hums.
“To what extent?”
“What?”
“Your relationship? Friends? Lovers? Enemies?”
“Lovers.” Natasha says with a sad smile.
“Ah. I knew it.”
“What do you mean?” Colette shrugs and smiles.
“Do you know that she still loves you?” Natasha gulps and looks at Colette. Colette smiles and gives Natasha an envelope. “It’s all just postcards but you can compare them to your portrait here. The strokes and the color aren’t matching. She must’ve spent days on your portraits and only hours on the landscapes. Granted they’re the ones she sells all the time.”
“She never sells my portraits?” Colette chuckles.
“Never. She said to a buyer once that she doesn’t want anyone to monopolize you. That you’re better taken care of if you’re seen by the world.” Colette bids her goodbye and Natasha looks at the miniature version of your paintings, she goes back to her portrait and her heart stops. Colette was right.
You do still love her. She can’t stop her smile and Clint smiles at her.
“You okay?” Natasha smiles.
“I’m good.”
-
And if it’s not for me
The love that you offer
Then I won’t hope anymore
To be kissed again
-
You sigh as Silvia and Miyuki cuddle each other while you were behind them. You insisted on this arrangement so you could deny that you know them. You pay attention to the screen and flinches when Steve appears. He says that warning that every movie theater does before showing the movie itself. You sigh and you look and see that the two are looking at you. You chuck them a piece of your popcorn and they look at the screen.
-
“The movie was so good!” You yawn as Silvia gushes about the movie.
“Yeah!” Miyuki agrees as you stretch your body.
“Boss? You going back?”
“Yep. You two go on a date or something.”
“You sure?”
“Yep. I’ll go take a nap before painting.”
“How many more days till you finish it?” You grin at them.
“Probably just one more.”
-
You wake up and see Natasha’s portrait staring down at you. You yawn and smile. Your phone rings and you see that it’s Asuna.
(“Hey.”)
(“You ready for it?”)
(“Yup. I’m just going to have the final one in center.”) Asuna hums.
(“Another portrait of her?”) You look at it and smile.
(“Always.”) After you hang up, you send an email to Tony Stark, confirming his invitation to your new exhibition.
-
Slowly release
My heart can't resist
Because once you left
It’s been Extremely difficult
-
You put on your suit and hum at yourself. You clean up nice.
“Is that an appreciative hum for my fashion sense or are you just being narcissistic?” Silvia asks and you roll your eyes. You get out of your room and Asuna smiles at you.
(“Finally. After hours.”)
(“Only an hour. Don’t compare me to you.”) Asuna gasps and Miyuki snickers.
(“Hush, you. Now, come on.”) You smile as you all leave the Ryokan and into your gallery. You laugh as you look around and your new paintings are displayed.
(“Asuna! Thank you! This is amazing!”)
(“On such short notice too.”)
(“Anything for the master. As long as you save me one painting.”)
(“Pick one.”)
(“Wait, seriously?”)
(“Yeah? There are a lot more than the usual so pick one.”)
(“This one then.”) She presents the portrait and you raise an eyebrow.
(“Anything except that one.”) They laugh and you shake your head.
(“This one then.”)
(“Ah. Your hometown?”) Asuna hums and you nod at her.
(“It’s yours. I’ll tell Norah not to auction that one.”)
(“Thank you, Y/N.”) She hugs you and you smile.
(“Okay, then! Two more hours till we open the doors!”) Miyuki shouts and you smile.
-
“Are you sure about this?”
“Of course.”
“It’s your call.” Natasha hums as she approaches the gallery with Tony.
-
You smile as visitors gush about your paintings. Exhibitions are still the one thing that you do make an appearance at. You were about to be approached when you see her. Natasha… she’s alone and looking at her portrait. Your heart beats faster and everything seemed to close in on you. FUCK. She’s here. DAMN IT!
“Boss?” Silvia calls out but you don’t hear her. “Y/N?” She shakes you and you finally look at her. “What’s wrong?”
“Air.” You simply answer and Silvia nods. She escorts you out of the gallery and Miyuki follows after.
-
You clutch your chest as you try to breathe normally.
“In and out, Y/N.” Silvia guides you through your sudden attack.
“Did something trigger it?”
“Not something.” You answer with hoarse voice then drink the water that Silvia gave you. “Someone.”
“Natasha?” You nod in confirmation. “Damn it.” You stop Silvia from going back inside.
“Don’t kick her out. Don’t be rude.”
“Then-“
“I’ll leave. I’ll come back tomorrow.” They nod and you sigh. “Tell them that I got sick or something. Just go.”
“You’ll be okay by yourself?” You nod and bid them goodbye. You walk back to the Ryokan to clear your head.
-
Natasha looks at the stage where Asuna got a hold of the mic.
(“I’m sorry to announce that Master Y/N cannot be here tonight.”) She hears disappointed murmurs go through the crowd. (“It seems that she suddenly got sick and had to leave early. She did say though that she’ll try her best to be here tomorrow.”) Asuna gives back the mic to the Dj and goes among the crowd again.
Natasha tries to find her and sees that Tony actually got to her first.
“Excuse me, Miss-?”
“Ah. Yuuki. Asuna Yuuki.” Natasha shakes her hand and they nod.
“What exactly happened to Master Y/N?”
“I don’t exactly know. Her bodyguards just told me that she got sick and left early.”
“Is she okay? Did something bad happen? Where is she-?” Tony gets ahold of her arm.
“Okay. Sorry for the sudden barrage miss Yuuki. We’ll be going now.” Tony drags Natasha away from Asuna.
-
I will not allow it anymore
You hurt me
That again and forget
Our past
Can't you hear
My chest throbbed
It's getting away from you
My feelings
-
You take a deep breath and fix your suit.
(“You ready, Y/N?”)You nod at Asuna and she opens the doors to your gallery once again. People immediately flock to you. They’re asking how you’re feeling. Some about the paintings. Some about the portrait.
“PEOPLE!” Silvia’s booming voice freeze them and she drags you away from them. (“Stop mobbing the master! She’ll talk to you if she’s feeling any better! Understood?”) They nod simultaneously and Miyuki gives you a glass of water.
“You okay?” You nod and drink the glass in one go.
“You sure about that?” You nod again and give the empty glass back to Miyuki.
“I’m fine now.” You tell them and go to a visitor.
-
You’ve managed to avoid both Tony and Natasha as you talk to everyone else and it’s the last day of your exhibition.
“Miss Y/LN.” You hum as Tony approaches you. “You’ve been avoiding me.”
“You’re with miss Romanoff.”
“Ah… do you not like her?” You scoff.
“It’s nothing.”
“She didn’t tell you?”
“Tell me what?” You sigh and wave your hand.
“As I promised, a million dollars.” He gives you a check and you shake your head.
“No. The exhibition is free for all. Keep it.”
“You sure?” You nod. “Then I’ll just have to bid all of your paintings.” You chuckle.
“And where will you put them?”
“Avengers’ Compound and Stark Industries.” You hum. He bids his goodbye and you smile.
-
You laugh as Tony bid 5 million on the last painting that Norah auctioned… he just spent 125 million dollars on all of your paintings.
“How about the portrait? A special gift for someone who just got you 125 million?” You go to the stage and Norah gives you the mic.
“I’m sorry, Mr. Stark. But that portrait will be donated, not bought.”
“Come on, Y/LN!” Silvia growls and you put up your hand to stop her. “125 million! Doesn’t that mean anything to you?”
“It means everything Mr. Stark. But that woman in those portraits also meant everything to me.” You get off the stage and get something from Miyuki.
“Instead of that, please accept this.” You give him the canvas that is covered.
“And this is?”
“A painting for her. I know she’s with you.”
“She had to leave early tonight because of an emergency mission.” You smile.
“And you can just half all of your bids, I don’t mind.”
“No. You earned those 125 million. Pepper will be happy with these pieces.” You hum.
“Mr. Stark.”
“Yeah?”
“Please tell her not to come looking for me again.” You bid him goodbye and leave.
-
Tony tried to find you again but he huffs in frustration. You were too good at hiding your own trail. He hoped to find you before Natasha gets back from her mission but as he hears the Quinjet land softly, he knew that he failed. He runs a hand through his hair and look at your paintings.
You really were a master.

Natasha Nicole shares comforting debut single ‘Alright In The End’
Compared to the likes of Joni Mitchell, Norah Jones and Laura Marling, Natasha Nicole is a new Midlands based solo artist, but not new to the music scene. After previously singing lead and banging the skins for an indie rock band, going solo has allowed her to nurture her singer-songwritercalling. Natasha’s ethereal soft tones accompanied by acoustic and symphonic sounds will send you to a place of serenity.
"It’ll be alright in the end, they say, but if it’s not alright, it’s not the end." Words of comfort given in times of discord, encapsulated into Natasha’s debut single ‘Alright in the End’. For a song that seems so apt to the troublesome times the past year has presented to us, it takes a timeless stance to apply to any situation of distress. Originally inspired by personal experiences of her own after battling with anxiety and depression, Natasha writes as though she is the comforter, drawing inspiration from loved ones who helped her through that time.
“I wasn’t in the greatest of mindsets, although something in me wanted to find light of the situation. I struggled a lot with panic attackstriggered by anxiety meltdowns; relaxation wasn’t my forté. But, despite everything, I managed to capture a voice recording of that chorus line, in an attempt to calm myself down. Two years later, after complete music dormancy and a huge loss of confidence post band break-up—I pick it upand think -wow-I can hear a full blown song. I listen to it day and night, and even wake up one morning having written the baritone sax melody in my head.
"If 2020 was only good for one thing -it was me being furloughed. It lead me to find the key to that rusty chest of music, and investing in my own mic and recording setup slowly helped to rebuild my confidence. Floods of songs finally illuminated in my head. I think I wrote about 16 songs in 3 months. I never thought about releasing anything -it just became a huge pastime again where I was proving to myself I could sing again, I could write again, and I could do it solo! It wasn’t until I actually showed my mom that she said “you must let the world hear this”.

Rising soulful pop songstress MILENA shares ‘Higher Hopes’ announces Higher Hopes EP
London based singer-songwriter MILENA has announced the release of her latest track, ‘Higher Hopes’ via Milena Lainovic. The song is the title track to the songstress’ upcoming EP, which will be released on the 25th of May. The track was premiered via V13.net. Nikola Kovacevic from Brother Sun Sister Moon Productions stepped forward again to assist with the producing, mixing and mastering of the album. As part of the successful duo Lite Motive, MILENA has previously performed for Disney’s Buena Vista International and was placed on the “Hits Sheet” compilation alongside George Michael and Ronan Keating. The singer has been featured in publications such as Grazia Magazine Montenegro and A&R Factory and received radio play from Sammy Rock aka Soul Oasis of Cyberjamz Radio. As part of her solo career, MILENA worked as a Radio Presenter and Music Journalist at Capital Radio, where she presented on the popular evening show, Sedmica and Saturday show Jukebox. In 2019, MILENA went on a media tour in Montenegro, appearing on various TV channels, and was seen performing around the East and West coast of America. MILENA was born and raised in Montenegro where she would begin playing classical guitar and piano before going on to study at the local Music Academy. Along the way, she won various prizes, participated in many festivals and appeared on children’s TV programmes, in musical theatre and TV commercials. Coming from a musical and artistic family, MILENA confidently shares, “Music was my destiny, it was inevitable. I don’t think there was ever a time at home that music wasn’t the centre piece of my family” As a result of her musical family, MILENA draws inspiration from a variety of artists including the more traditional likes of Earth Wind & Fire, Dave Matthews Band, Maysa Leak and some new artists such as D'Sound, Emily King and Amber Mark. In turn, her own sound sits closer to the likes of Norah Jones, Jennifer Paige and Lisa Stansfield. Highlighting the beauty arising from melodic acoustic piano and caressing vocals, MILENA proudly lays claim to her musical grounds of soul. ‘Higher Hopes’ carries the listener on a breathless journey of anticipation as the ethereal soundscapes meet classical influences. The message is a simple one, of hope for both doing and being better. Speaking of the tender song, MILENA tells us, “I have always had this idea of writing a powerful ballad, like one of those old school 80s & 90s classical numbers. "Higher Hopes" was created in "one breath" I could hear the piano intro and my voice, whispering an early morning calling to the Creator, It felt like I had a message to deliver and that message was strong and clear. The message was of hope, faith, and belief that we can be better creatures in this world. So I had that moment of clarity, that moment when I was no longer lost and became true to myself. That moment when I was finally feeling truly happy with myself and content with being alone. Being in this moment of clarity, the lyrics came so naturally and easily to me. I'm usually more drawn to the actual melody, harmonies, and sounds, so I was even more surprised with myself having this approach to the new song.” https://soundcloud.com/milenalainovic/milena-higher-hopes Read the full article

NEW THIS WEEK 11.04.08
As I write this, it's mere hours before what may be the most important election in American history!
Tensions are fierce among many, as all of us--each and every one--perhaps engage our friends in heated discussion, study the evidence, and, finally, consider the ramifications of our vote!
And I for one am ready!
Though I usually find it distasteful to use this forum to further my own political opinions, so be it:
After prolonged and serious study, and carefully considering their respective merits, I have decided that yes--between the two of them, Britney Spears is hotter than Christina Aguilera!
Hopefully the world will agree!
Tumblr media
Hinder: Take It To The Limit (Universal Republic) Recently a local music critic here in L.A. has taken to referring to the sort of music Hinder plays--you know, that whole mish-mash of testosterone-inspired Nickelback, 3 Doors Down, Daughtrey kind of stuff--as "Flyover Rock." I mean, you've got to love her actually coming up with a term to describe it, true, and I suppose if the entire world did start using the expression, she might start to feel just the tiniest burst of pride about being the person responsible for its creation!  I, however, am the old-fashioned sort, and prefer to describe this sort of music as "Glorp Rock!" As do most people! But I do give Hinder some credit: Between them and the Eagles Of Death Metal, Don Henley sleeps easier tonight! And isn't that what it's all about?
Tumblr media
Brad Paisley: Play (Arista Nashville) Wow! Give Brad Paisley a Grammy for Best Country Instrumental Performance and look what happens next! An entire new album devoted to the craft of guitar-playing--featuring guests such as B.B. King, Buck Owens, and Keith Urban! And if the cover is any indication, Paisley himself has been turned into an old, beat-up guitar! Let's hope the Grammy people don't have a mean streak and give him another Grammy for Best Rap Collaboration just to experiment!
Tumblr media
Q-Tip: The Renaissance (Universal Motown) One of hip-hop's all time greats, Q-Tip made his name via his pioneering group A Tribe Called Quest, and he's finally back with a brand new album--loaded to the gills with rhythms, beats and other hip synonyms for that stuff as well as guest artists like D'Angelo, Norah Jones and Raphael Saadiq! He's pretty good! All told, though everything here sounds fresh and contemporary, there's a respect for tradition that permeates nearly every one of the masterful tracks to be found here!  My only question: What the hell happened to his head?
Tumblr media
Shiny Toy Guns: Season Of Poison (Universal) Far be it from me to imply that nervous record executives at Universal are now making their artists release albums with titles that evoke artists and eras long past, when records sold in the trillions and everyone was having a great time making money, but all I know is the day I got this, I played it for a few minutes and then decided to go watch Bret Michaels on his VH1 show! My attention span is so short now nearly anything will set it off! Say, have you seen my new car?
Tumblr media
Sarah Brightman: Winter Symphony (Manhattan) Like many people, I tend to view Sarah Brightman as the sort of person who might draw a large crowd on international levels were she to be pitted against, say, Celine Dion in a televised tag-team wrestling match! But there's more to her than that! And on this fine Christmas release, between well-sung versions of "Silent Night" and "Ave Maria," there's a fab cover of my all-time favorite seasonal single--Roy Wood's "I Wish It Could Be Christmas Every Day"--that will surely bring you joy if you're fortunate enough to hear it! What say you do just that, then spring for a cup of hot cocoa and meet me for a seasonal romp?
Tumblr media
Mavis Staples: Live: Hope At The Hideout (Anti) A sheer and utter joy, this stripped-down live performance by Staples--a member of the distinguished Staple Singers--could just as easily have been recorded 40 years ago on the basis of the warmth and authenticity that's present throughout. Filled with classics of the civil rights era, capped with an encore of "I'll Take You There," and wrapped with a cover that would look at home in an Atlantic Records catalog circa 1968, it's a fairly stunning release by any standard. Except that of a major label!
Tumblr media
Johann Johannsson: Fordlandia (4AD) Admittedly I was distracted when I picked this up and put it in my CD player, so can I be blamed for my disappointment when I discovered my favorite song of all time--you know, the one about a guy named John Johnson who lives in Wisconsin and works in a lumberyard?--was nowhere to be found? But no worries! This guy's a heavy hitter--an Icelandic composer who puts together groovily hypnotic orchestrations and melodies that tear into your very heart and soul, baby! Top track is the pulsing, nine-minute "Melodia (Guidelines For A Space Propulsion Device Based On Heim's Quantum Theory)," but with that title, how could it not be? Here's hoping Britney covers it!
Tumblr media
Honeyhoney: First Rodeo (Ironworks/Universal Republic) This charismatic pair popped up into the Yahoo Music offices a few weeks ago and gave us a low-key but charming performance, and we were hooked! Accessible pop, folk, indie rock, jazz--pick a genre and they fit right into it. Good songs, good playing, and lots of opportunity awaiting them. Had they only named this debut album Sugar, superstardom would be theirs for the asking!
Tumblr media
Hushpuppies: Silence Is Golden (Minty Fresh) Chicago label Minty Fresh continues to introduce some of the world's most interesting artists to a Stateside audience, and the arrival here of France's Hushpuppies continues that classy tradition. Loud and catchy rock with lots of character, none of it hampered by those bothersome French accents that French people often have! Word is that their track "You're Gonna Say Yeah" is featured on the upcoming Guitar Hero World Tour vidgame franchise, but like you, I'd be much more interested in learning if they could introduce me to Alizee!
Tumblr media
Travis: Ode To J. Smith (Red Telephone Box) While it's true this band was once poised for a massive international breakthrough that would sadly never take place, their current strategy--titling their albums with very common names in hopes that owners of those names would actually buy them--may prove to be problematic! Eventually!
