hey artist besties

i’ve been talking to a lot of people lately who are just getting into art and particularly digital art. I tend to say it’s best to learn your foundation art skills on paper and then try out digital as a new medium, since digital requires a completely new set of skills to learn, much like going from drawing to painting. i’ve always thought it was strange to jump immediately into digital. so many young artists i know don’t even carry a sketchbook around :/

I’m really curious what other artists think about this, and what kind of advice you give people. obviously not everyone thinks the same way so it would be cool to hear other opinions!
