Summary: Michael knew going to the beach would be stressful, but he didn't consider this.

I’m trying to do Writer’s Month this month and to keep myself working on these to hopefully get all of them done, I’m going to aim for 1,000 words or less.

At any rate, I have several stories plotted out that involve some of my fankids for this event, and I’m kind of excited to get to write them more. I can’t help it, they’re really fun characters. I also adore writing Michael and Firkle so much, they get me through writer’s block really well.

I will not tolerate comments that are hateful or rude about the age gaps and incest. If you do not like it, do not read this. It is so easy to look at the tags and decide that this isn’t for you. Curate your own experience online and don’t make it my problem.

Into The Ocean

Michael had figured that taking a family of nearly ocean-dwelling beings to the beach would be a bit of an ordeal, but he couldn’t say he’d expected all of this. Marina and Celina had run off immediately, heading towards a rocky outcrop where he was sure they would get up to shenanigans. Asher had followed Aster to the waterline before grabbing him and pulling him in for a kiss.

It looked like everyone was going to get laid, except for him, maybe.

Firkle had sat under the black and purple striped umbrella they brought with them, on the large skeleton print towel, and promptly began to pray. He was proudly showing off his chest, with the mastectomy scars framed by the nipple rings he wore, chains dangling down against his skin. With his hands folded in his lap, he sat with his ass on his ankles, his head down as he mumbled the words. Michael could make out the words ‘Elder Gods’ and ‘shall be,’ though he knew the prayer by heart and could recite it with him if he so chose to.

Settling beside him, Michael rose an eyebrow when Firkle’s head finally lifted again. The younger man glanced out at the cloudy sky above them, enjoying the brisk breeze blowing through their resting spot for a moment in silence. Being near Michael, near the ocean with Michael, brought him a kind of peace he couldn’t describe. Everything felt like it fit into place suddenly, and he absently scooted closer until their arms touched, his head coming to rest on Michael’s shoulder.

“Everything alright, Theron?” Michael’s query was gentle, quiet so as not to disturb the comfortable silence around them. Firkle looked so serene he hoped not to shatter his good mood. Much as he didn’t smile, there was something about the way he sat there that left Michael just sensing the joy wafting from his every pore.

“Mhm…” Firkle nearly purred, his large eyes closed for once as he relished in the sound of the waves crashing against the shore, “I feel at peace here.”

“I’m glad I could offer you respite, then.” Michael murmured, leaning over to kiss the crown of his lover’s head, “You look like the world has been lifted from your shoulders.”

“I feel that way, I think. It feels right to be here, and I’m enjoying being wrapped in you by the sea a lot.” Firkle admitted with one of his imprisoned smiles, a flash of his lips curling upwards before he squashed it down, “Thank you. This trip is going to be good for all of us.” He could just feel it.

“I’m honestly glad to hear it. I thought we were going to lose it having to share hotel rooms like we did.” They’d driven from South Park to this beach in Washington state, and the two sets of twins had been rather vocal about having to share a bed together, lest they share with their parents. Neither of the pairs were comfortable with separating, so there had been four per bed several times during their trip.

Asher and Aster had shared with their parents more than Marina and Celina and had no trouble cuddling up to them like they had when they were babies. There had even been a couple of times that all six of them had crammed themselves into one bed just to feel closer to each other.

The girls likely wouldn’t admit to it, but they’d enjoyed the cuddle pile as much as everyone else had.

“At the very least, I think the twins will–”

“Mom!” Ash’s voice suddenly called from the water, and Firkle sat bolt upright, “Ast hasn’t come up for a while and I can’t find him!”

Well, shit. Aster, as accident-prone as he was, likely wasn’t injured, but he could be lost. After a second’s debate, Firkle rose to his feet and discarded his slip-on shoes.

“I’ll get him, don’t worry.” He waited to speak until he was beside his son in the water, patting his shoulder as he walked by. Michael watched him effortlessly dive beneath the surface, his heart clenching in his chest. While he figured they would both be okay, he simultaneously felt it was too much to hope for.

It wasn’t for fifteen minutes that Firkle and Aster surfaced again, and Asher jumped at the chance to get a hold of his brother, to touch him, make sure he was alright. Michael was right behind him, pulling Firkle close enough to crush them both into one being. He’d entered the water after five minutes, waiting helpless and hopeless with his son as they watched the water where their lovers had disappeared like it might bite them. Soft whispers of ‘thank Satan’ and ‘I’m glad you’re okay’ were mirrored between both pairs, and Asher kissed his brother’s cheek.

“Dad!” Marina called from the shore, her chest heaving in the blue and black striped bikini she wore, “Celina’s gone under!”

“Hell’s gates,” Michael sighed, “The lot of you are going to kill me.”

“I’ve got it, Animus, don’t worry.” Firkle gave a breathless laugh, shaking his head, “We can hold our breath much longer than most people. We’ll be fine.”

“I know, but it doesn’t stop me from worrying.” Carding his hand through Firkle’s wet hair, Michael shook his head, “You’d best go get our daughter before Marina loses her shit.”

“I’m on it.” Firkle was already swimming back towards the shore as he spoke, ready to follow his daughter to the place where her sister had disappeared.

AN: For five people that worship Cthulhu, two of which being his vessels on Earth, I figured that a beach trip would be both great and terrible for them. Michael is going to have a heart attack one of these days.

there are three that have names and personalities and three in the works for a different verse. i shall talk about the first three because i have things to say about them!

Yoshiro and Kai were I believe my first ever fankids or at least the first ones I wrote down anywhere, and they are twins! they were born about three years before Mori took control of the Port Mafia and grew up in the PM. they were oopses that Mori (trans man) didnt discover till after he and Fukuzawa split up for their parts of the tripartite thing. They now (age 35) are a commander of the Black Lizard (Kai) and some kind of intelligence/spy/extortion thing?? (Yoshiro) (in total honesty he doesn't know what his job title is either he just flips his hip length hair and looks pretty (and on fun occasions pulls out a knife and makes threats) and stupid men hand over money and information. Kai is the older twin, and aside from his hair being black, strongly resembles Fukuzawa both physically and in mannerisms. Yoshiro is a bit more of a wild card, having white hair and a much cooler purple (as in bluer. tho he is pretty awesome) eye color than Mori, and being much more upfront and obvious about his self-confidence. go ahead get the yin/yang jokes out now i'll wait/lh

Yoshiro is the only brother with an ability, and I did not base him off a real author so I had to make this up myself. I called it No More Blank Pages which sounded suitably fancy to go along with one father's Vita Sexualis (Latin. Pretentious fuck/lh) and the other's All Men Are Equal (grand sweeping statement. love that for him) and every time he looks at a person he learns something about them that they already knew about themselves. The more stressed he is, the more relevant that fact is to his current situation (for example if he were mugged, he could look at his assailant and know that they have a knife in their left boot, but if he saw that same person in a much different situation, all he might get would be, like, "needs to pick up carrots later"). crowded social situations tend to leave him reeling from information overload because he can't turn it off!

the third child is Katsumi! she's eleven years younger than the boys and also an oops. She happened because her dads got a little too excited about seeing each other again after twelve years. I don't think she got involved with the Mafia or ADA but if she did she'd be with the Agency despite being Mori's mini-me and also his little princess when she was small. (honestly she's still his little princess but he no longer brings her to work and lets her baby-babble as if the nonsense noises she's spouting are more important than Actual Mafia Business) Kai held her for the first time when she was an infant and immediately swore his everlasting fealty to her and will defend her even if she is clearly the one who ate the last of whatever it was. she has no ability that has revealed itself yet, but she's still prepared for one to show up. After all, her papa Fukuzawa didn't discover his till he was in his thirties.

well the thing is the latest batch is a new verse and I don't have much about them yet. i have numbers of kids per ship and the kids' genders written down but not much else. the ones before that are, i think, third gens, but it's been long enough that i'd need to go back into edit histories of googledocs to see who's actually most recent.

upon checking, it's Aloysius and Ingram! grandchildren of ranpoe and steincraft, they are, born to Anna Edogawa-Poe and Kendrick Lovecraft. they're good kids, but lordy they are their parents' sons. it started with their parents being their parents' kids. i haven't developed them much unfortunately, all i know is that they're twins and being a quarter Cthulhu means they do have the potential to turn into squids if they want to. Anna did not sign up for twins but the fact that Kendrick himself is a twin and has triplet sisters kind of pointed at Lovecraft genetics being rife with the potential for multiples. poor girl. sea creatures tend towards enormous amounts of spawn we all should have expected this

Nadya!! very active kid, runner about and troublemaker, though no match for the dozen pairs of watchful eyes making sure she's not getting hurt. she's cap's girl through and through. she grows up to earn a place at her dad's right hand, and i do mean she earned that place through her own work. cap's no fan of nepotism. her proficiency with a blade started young, with one of the men in cap's squad carving her a little wooden sword and letting her whack at trees for a bit before cap came hustling over to teach her how to whack at trees for Maximum Damage aka how to use a sword right. "remember nadya. a beginner is more dangerous than the most skilled master who can produce impossible feats with the blade, because the beginner has no control. like this, follow along" it is Bonding Time (arguably better father-daughter bonding than what dottore does, which is dissections) and she spends most of her childhood with cap instead of varka, though she's reasonably close with him too through frequent letters and visits.

Pasha! about a year and a half to two years younger than Nadya, i havent done math yet, and he spends all his time in Mond because he was born early and is particularly susceptible to Snezhnaya's cold. it was a hell of a terrifying couple of months trying to get the tiny boy to live but he grows up reasonably healthy for his rough start. he's still a lot slighter and smaller than the rest of the family, but he regularly joins varka for patrols and expeditions. i feel like razor decided pasha was part of his family too and taught him everything he could about the woods. picked up a bow at the encouragement of both parents, because regardless of the reality(he barely has an issue and that only after heavy exertion), they're still terrified of him having breathing issues because as an early baby, he had weak lungs and would sometimes stop breathing. bows are a lot less active of a weapon in the breath department than swords or claymores.

they don't see each other except when Nadya and cap visit mond, but they write to each other as much as anybody else in the family. Pasha's usually not too miffed about not getting to go see his sister, but if it starts looking like birthdays are going to be spent apart, he starts getting restless about it. somehow, despite the family being split up, they make it work <3

how many: gee i actually dont know. I have some that are still in concept phase and some that i went "hehe wouldn't it be funny if" and never went in depth about them again but thankfully the majority are named and personality'd. four ragnvindr(gunnhildr)mincis (Jean left her name out bc it would be too much of a mouthful),two crepttores, two named and three concept varkitanos, the various and numerous concepts for genetics experiment creations, a tomokazu kid, a couple kids fathered by Zhongli and promptly left with their other parent, even one named and further nebulous concepts for cynonari adoptees because let's face it Collei is not the only stray Cyno has ever dragged home. there's a fucken lot. i really need to update and fill out my google slides

out of sheer consideration for the poor suckers who follow me(i love yall), the rest'll be under a cut

who are they: we are going to be here a while even if i do stick to the names alone. the Ragnvindr-Mincis (jeanlisaluc) are Lydia, Crepus "Crepes" Jr, Frederica "Freddie"/"Fred", and Evie. Lydia looks almost exactly like her father and the rest look like their mothers. (lydia and crepes are jean's and fred and evie are lisa's twins) (technically I share custody/ownership of this family, the kaedehara kid, and kaeya's kid w zhongli with @/dusted-star) the Ragnvindrs (crepttore edition) are Clara and Florina. they're twins and both of them have similarly mixed appearances, though Clara's the only one with Zandik's shark teeth. clara's bangs are light blue and the rest of her hair is red, and Flora's hair is the reverse. both of them have red eyes. the Kaedehara is Chiisai and she also looks like a mix of her parents, but the red streak is dye. zhongli's kids are with kaeya (Zetian Alberich) and childe (Sofiya). Zetian is all but a clone of Kaeya. Sonya is much more dragony, but dragon cant outweigh ginger. the varkitanos are Nadezhda and Pavel they look very much like cap(black hair dark eyes light skin) but the triplets in production are gonna look a lot more like varka(brown, brown, tan). the only named cynonari adoptee is Zayneb and she's brown with black hair and brown eyes (i gotta Do Something w her and the nebulous pile of concepts for adoptive siblings theres too much potential to go untapped). there are many too many experiment concepts to talk about and there isnt currently much to say either. i seem to be filling dottore's laboratory with genetics experiments. i almost forgot pantalone's ex street kids that im working on! saw a kid getting whooped for trying to survive had a flashback to himself being in that exact situation went "NOPE" and adopted the entire passel in five seconds flat.

any visions: i had not thought about it before i will tell you that. i know neither clara nor flora have one. i also know that vision holders usually have some kind of trauma and i tend to make fankid verses for eventual happiness for all parties involved so that kinda. crosses each other out ? idk! i might play around with researching the vision types and the shared traits between each element and all that but honestly it hasnt been a priority what with the. yknow. the trauma.

most kinship: yknow i do not know! i think Clara Ragnvindr is up there though. tried to craft a fic with her and Flora once and wow, yeah, i was coming out of my own oc's mouth. Mori Yoshiro is suuuper up there too, though. he's just My Lil Guy.

most projection: i havent explored many of my guys in as much detail as i would like i dont have a projection oc yet ^^; if i had to pick one tho id say Yoshiro hes been around for so long.

need rework/dk what to do w: i cant say i've done much with........ lots of my concepts. i just needed to know that these lil mipys exist/will exist in their parents' happy futures. so i dont know what to do with a lot of my fankids. i just make em tbh the creation process is enriching

FANKID QUESTIONS TIME of all the kids you've made, which ones would you say have the most traumatic backstories and which ones are the most normal? for both bsd and genshin, separately and together if u want

cracks knuckles.

so i dont generally make fucked up lil guys, i like to make fankids as a representation of the parents being settled and having a happy future and traumatizing the children is not usually something i enjoy. that being said, i do have a couple kids whose backstories caused some trauma, not necessarily to the kid themself (lookin at you, pasha. you may have been overeager to see the world but the world was not as eager to see you).

as mentioned, Pavel Braddock, the second-born varkitano child, was born early enough that the technology to keep a preemie alive was cobbled together on the spot. both his parents are afraid of him dying as early as he was born, and the slightest hint of breathing issues, even just from exertion, has both of them worrying endlessly. he did stop breathing by himself temporarily a couple few times as an infant after all. he's fine, all things considered, but it doesnt stop the panic and worry. Kunikida Makoto was, before her adoption, the only survivor of a home invasion that killed both her parents. granted she was two, but shit sticks when you learn you dont look like your dad because your dad picked you up out of a murder scene. that might be all of them.

Most Normal backstories....... i dunno. the rest of them? i dont have my kids in front of me tbh. Anna Edogawa-Poe takes a Normal Backstory cake i think, she's just anxious and rich with doting+loving parents which i know it sounds like a fantasy, (/j)
