UF/IFAS Extension Kicks Off Annual Peanut Butter Challenge
The Peanut Butter Challenge is an annual jar collection for local food pantries hosted by Citrus County’sUF/IFAS Extension and Florida A&M University (FAMU) Cooperative Extension.
UF/IFAS Extension Kicks Off Annual Peanut Butter Challenge
Launched in the Florida Panhandle in 2012, it is again “spreading” statewide this year.
Thanks to community members, last year 278 jars (totaling more than 336 pounds) of peanut butter weredonated to local food pantries here in Citrus County.
Unopened, unexpired peanut butter jars of any size can be donated to Citrus County Extension office(located at 3650 W Sovereign Path in Lecanto) or Citrus County Resource Center (2804 W Marc KnightonCt in Lecanto) until October 31, 2023.

Acknowledging Darskin Actresses

Hi everyone I'm LJ, a director/writer from South Sudan, but raised in Nashville, TN. Recently TikToker Zoe handle (Zoediackiller) posted this video https://vm.tiktok.com/ZMJqmGKcs/ and it brought a major concern. Does Hollywood like darkskin actress?
I mean me personally I would say absolutely NOT. Then you get the usual questions "Look at Lupita," while she is in fact a beautiful women, we can never forget 12 years a Slave. If you ask me its disrespectful that in order to be something you have to go back 200 years.
First before I begin my rant, let's start with the definition of colorism. Colorism is prejudice or discrimination against individuals with a dark skin tone, typically among people of the same ethnic or racial group. Now that we got that out the way let dive in.
We have seen it all the growing up darkskin women almost always get the worst roles. You gotta be a slave (Lupita "12 Years a Slave") , maid (Viola Davis "The Help"), or constantly having issues (Tichina Arnold "Martin/Everybody Hates Chris.") You rarely see a darkskin women getting to fully enjoy ourselves on camera, unless its animated ex: Princess and The Frog. Also, they have this thing where you can never see a happy darkskin couple without suffering ex: If Beale Street Could Talk, and Jingle Jangle.
Let's talk about swaps shall we, its when a darkskin actress is swapped out for a lightskin actress. This has happened on Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, My Wife and Kids, and honorable mention Raising Dion. A thing that they think we cant see, but its completely obvious. So where do we go from here?
We have to stop accepting the same cookie cutter roles from darkskin women e.g. The desperate best friend, the strong women, and the by force nerd. Next, support Black women in film who are trying to change the narrative, by donating to their crowdfunding. Below will be a few shining stars who you should follow, and support their work.

Fashion story is a result of volunteering experience during refugee crisis in 2015 at Berkasovo – Bapska border. Humanitarian aid was de facto illegal; vans with collected material aid were often stopped by the customs officers. When the supplies finally reached the camp, one of the tasks was to sort the donations. Some of the have clearly mistaken the field with charity shops. All inappropriate donations were packed and labeled with tag ŠID – USELESS according to the warehouse in nearby village without any further plan or purpose. The fashion story can be seen a manual of what-not-to-collect and reconstructs the visual impression of the camp – UNHRC grey blankets and isothermals foils under the flash of headlight.
Five bag of useless, yet fancy stuff were brought back to Prague and sold at a charity flea market at FAMU.
