Hello one and all! We are delighted to announce the Formula 1 Hallmark Fest, aiming to bring winter cheer and cheesy festive feel-good holiday fic to the masses.

What is Hallmark?

Every year, The Hallmark Channel has their annual Countdown to Christmas celebration. As you can imagine from the title, the movies center around Christmas/winter holiday themes. Hallmark Christmas movies are some of the cheesiest, most nostalgia-evoking films you can imagine. Many of them center around small towns and discovering (or rediscovering) the spirit of Christmas, spending time with family and friends, and finding love in the holiday season!

Hallmark Christmas movies are absurd in the best way, making them perfect for fanfic plots.

How to Join

The Rules

For writers- Minimum word count: 4000 words (and the sky's the limit)

For artists- Minimum art requirements: Lined and colored

Theme: Your work must align with the theme of the fest, that being cheesy heartwarming festive goodness!

Other than that, there are no limits on what you can create! A short, fluffy feel-good fic oozing with tender holiday love? A novel-length fic with an intricate plot and epic highs and lows? A painting of your favorite guys kissing under the mistletoe? A comic centered on holiday misadventures? Your call!

FAQ under the cut! 👇

1. Does it have to be AU? Not at all! F1 drivers' lives are already so god damn weird that it lends itself perfectly to the sort of over-the-top nonsense that makes a Hallmark movie truly special.

2. Does it have to be romantic? Absolutely not! Follow your heart <3

3. Does it have to be Christmas specifically? Nope! At their core, Hallmark movies are Christmas movies, but it's not essential. Any winter holiday, or even just winter in general, can fit the bill. (Or I guess summer, for the southern hemisphere?)

4. Can I do art for someone else's fic? Yes! Absolutely! We won't be pairing writers and artists (a la Big Bang) but you are more than welcome to find a writer to work with through our fest discord!

5. What happens if I have to drop out? Nothing! We understand that circumstances can change, and the deadline is long so unexpected situations may arise. If you sign up and find you can't participate, that's fine! Just drop the mods a line, no hard feelings.

6. Does my work have to be completed for me to submit it to the fest? Given the length of the deadline, we would ask that yes, your work should be finished before posting!

7. Do you accept late sign-ups? Sure!

8. Do I have to have an idea when I sign up? No! If the theme of the fest intrigues you but you can't think of what you want to write/draw right off the bat, you're still welcome to sign up! The discord server is the perfect place to workshop ideas with your fellow creatives, and we even have a random plot generator if you need a shot of inspiration.

9. Can I join the Discord server if I'm not participating in the fest? Yes, absolutely! If you just wanna come hang out, share in the vibes and the love and chat with folks, you are more than welcome to! And who knows, perhaps inspiration will strike you!

10. Why is the deadline so long? We decided to get started early to give people lots of time to work on their fics! This way, if people want to write proper longfic, there's plenty of time to get it done!

He looks up and finds himself face to face with none other than Charles Leclerc. “No.” The word is out of his mouth before he realises. The guy looks at him in confusion. “I mean. Yes, but…” He tries to save himself from this already awkward moment.

Charles sings and records songs in his bedroom, uploading them to his socials for the world see. One day, his videos show up for up and coming music producer Pierre. When Pierre flies out to get a signature on a record deal, he goes home with a lot more than he initially thought.

hello hi!! thank you for checking in!! we are planning on sending out another google forms survey to those that have shown interest, just a general "are you still thinking of participating, do you have an idea, do you want any help" sort of thing BUT i had completely forgotten it was supposed to be today (🙈 this is also my first time running one of these, theres always some growing pains) so it will most likely go out tomorrow. if you are in the discord server i will @ everyone there and i will also post on the hallmark fest tumblr so keep an eye out for that. thank you for reaching out and sorry for any confusion!!

10. because i write so slowly i can only really work on one thing at a time, but i've always got a little queue of ideas that i'm mulling over and making little notes about - normally an AU because most of what i write is an an AU 😂 so either something i really enjoy in its own right or feel strongly about, or something for a fest or a prompt (i need to start thinking about the hallmark fest whoops). a couple of things i'm thinking on for once i've got the big bang fic out of the way are a maxiel rule 63 w series AU and a yuki story where i started with a pun for the title and worked backwards 🙃 probably after the hallmark which has a deadline i'll do the w series first bc i've got more of an idea of how i want to structure it etc (and also sex stuff lol)

12. i used to avoid pregnancy stuff and now i do not 😭

42. honestly any thoughtful comment or something showing that a story has like provoked a feeling in a reader is so nice to receive (and i do keep a little folder of my faves to cheer myself up and also bc i'm a leo). something that really got me recently though was someone who took the time to go back through most of my f1 fics and leave lovely comments on a bunch of them - it was such a nice feeling to see them all popping up and something i definitely want to do more myself (rather than just leaving like a guilty kudos on older fics whoops)

Charles’ weight shifts, and Pierre parts his lips expectantly as he feels Charles’ breath fan across his skin. Just as he thinks their lips are about to touch, the warm sensation he’s been expecting is ripped away from him, and he sits up, coughing and spluttering. He’s completely soaked through and freezing cold, which is not how he had felt just moments before. OR Pierre takes a trip to his future, and has to face the realisation that what he's going to get isn't what he has right now.

Hello beloveds!

Time passes so incredibly quick, and the first check-in is upon us! Those that are still interested please fill out THIS FORM so that I have a better overview of who is planning to participate!

Still on the fence? Just keep in mind, should you sign up and find that for whatever reason you cannot meet the deadline, there are Zero Consequences. Since this is not a Big Bang or an exchange, you are beholden to no one but yourself and the holiday spirit.

And, if you are interested but don't know if you'll have time, or if you don't have an idea, or if you just wanna come hang out, feel free to join the Discord server! We are (hopefully) planning on hosting Hallmark movie nights, so that might be prime if you need inspiration, or just wanna have fun with us!
