terminally online people will really have issues with you using adjectives because that adjective is part of the name for a condition. like… calling someone by that adjective isn’t diminishing the legitimacy of your condition. they can deserve to be called the adjective, and it’s not the same as diagnosing them. it’s an ADJECTIVE.

#‘depressed’ is an adjective! not every depressed person has depression. you can be depressed for a short period. which is normal. #every human gets depressed a lil when they are experiencing intense negative emotions #‘narcissistic’ has existed far longer than its been a clinical term. you can call people narcissistic and they can be people without NPD #ALSO! maybe we should rename NPD? isn’t it kinda fucked up that the field of psych has decided to name your condition with a word that is #frequently used as an insult? idk. maybe ppl with NPD find some kind of comfort in ‘reclaiming’ it? #but i think perhaps a name focusing on difficulties with empathy and egocentrism would be less… pejorative? #also: i hope its clear that by this i don’t mean its okay to say shit like ‘im so OCD’ and the like. thats not an adjective.
