THE JOURNEY had been long and tiring ; her bones ached and the cold seemed to throb her joints. she was not used to these long journeys... and she hoped she'd never have to take another one after their return to england. her lady in waiting is all that kept her company - her husband traveling separate from her.
she often wondered if it was something she had done. was it her ? did she displease him ? was she not at all what he wanted and expected ?
a heavy sigh left rose colored lips , turning to enjoy the sights of france. she'd always dreamt of the gardens but her attention was quickly taken by the sudden small coldness that nipped at her nose. snow ? it was snowing ? ! an excitement left her , a giddiness that had long since left her. "snow ? the first snow of the season ? would this be a good omen , perhaps ? perhaps this visit will not be half bad. "
"Olaf, get back here!" Jemma shouted, fully aware it'll attract unnecessary attention towards her. But what else could she do when the sneaky pup had taken advantage of the single second she'd let her guard down. Bringing him along was a bad idea, she knew it the second she'd put that leash on him. She knew exactly how overly excited the pup would get around so many people and other animals yet she'd seen it as the perfect opportunity to work on his obidience. But it turned out the joke was on her since she was the one to learn her lesson. "I'm sorry," she was almost out of breath by the time she caught up to the naughty pup. "Did he destroy anything of yours already?"
"I know art is supposed to make you feel all sorts of euphoric shit but," Rhys paused to take a sip of his drink. "All this is makin' me feel is broke." he pointed his coffee cup towards the price on one of the paintings, which made his heart fall through to the floor. "Kinda makes me want to take some shrooms, paint somethin', and see how much I could sell it for as art." he mused for a moment.
He stood back, watching his nephews with a fond smile as they fed the goats at Ocean Bounty Bazaar. The annual event always brought the community together in such a wonderful way. Peering over at the person beside him, Kian remarked, "I'm really glad they do this once a year. It's the best way to get families together, don't you think?" His eyes crinkled at the corners as his smile widened. "The kids love it. Hell, I think I love it just as much," he added with a chuckle, turning his attention back to his nephews who were giggling as the goats ate from their hands.
Peering around at the bustling food truck rodeo, Axel took in the sights and smells. The field was covered with food trucks and people enjoying the different cuisines. As he waited in line, his impatience grew with each passing minute. He tapped his foot, checking his watch again. "Are these things always this packed?" he asked the person in front of him.
Hazal liked volunteering when she could find the time, today she was helping kids with the kite making for the springtide bash. The girl she was helping was adorable. While focusing, her tongue poked out adorably as she tried to keep the scissors steady. It took a few minutes of her turning her back to help another kid, when she felt the hem of her sundress being tugged. The young girl had lost her scissors and needed a replacement. She scanned the crowded crafting tables and spotted an extra pair of scissors nearby. Catching the eye of the stranger sitting there, she gave them a smile. "Excuse me, would you mind if I borrowed those scissors for a minute?"
THE JOURNEY was long and tiring for her. traveling separately from her husband felt.... odd. she truly did feel as if she had displeased him somehow... was she not what he wanted ? what he expected ? was a marriage supposed to feel - so lonely ?
her carriage was the first to arrive but not long before his. yet she had found herself settled into their temporary accommodations quickly - one of the small cottages built around the grounds of versailles. theirs not far from the gardens , how anna would have liked it. dark hair glistened and glimmered with the melted evidence of the first snow of the season , golden silk spotted as if she had spent some time in it - which she had. and now she found herself trying to warm up with some hot tea , small frame trembling from the cold.
she heard footsteps , expecting her handmaiden - but when the small door opened ; she was greater with the broading presence. her heart... sank. "sebastian..." yet when she said his name, like always , there held no coldness - a warmth instead- a hope. "i didn't expect you to arrive so soon...." her voice a whisper , cold hands trembling against the fine porcelain between them. "if you wish to rest ... i can explore the gardens... " she rose slowly from the couch by the fireplace. if he wished for her presence to disappear from his sight... she would unhappily oblige..
if there was one thing that benji liked to do, it was eat and so there was no surprise to anyone that he'd be at the food truck rodeo. he'd managed to come alone but that didn't stop him from looking for a familiar face to enjoy this food with, which he managed to do as he approached the food truck he was planning on ordering his food from. grinning as he approached them, "hey, hey! i wasn't sure who was going to come around here, especially after the ocean bounty bazaar. i would've loved to go but unfortunately for me, i'm allergic to shellfish so i had to bow out. what about you? did you check that one out or?"
As soon as Barghest had made the decision to participate in the games, she of course knew that there was no other option for her but to attempt the most difficult course the colosseum had to offer. What, was she going to beat down something hopelessly weaker than her? That would be both unbecoming of her and, to be quite honest, not even worth the scant effort it would take to do. She was doing this more for her own sake than anything else, working to keep her blade and her skills sharp while her access to both was normally painfully limited, but even the crowd would grow bored of a dull, effortless 'spectacle'.
Teams were recommended, of course; she had asked the receptionist if there was a possibility of taking on a Tier 3 challenge by herself, but after looking at her like she'd grown a second head, they simply stressed that teams were recommended at that level of difficulty. That she could work with; she had commanded troops before, existed as part of an imitation of a knight's order, even if the latter was more a collection of individuals that tolerated each other than a true band of comrades. The trouble was that she didn't particularly know who to ask.
Melusine was still here, as was Baobhan Sith, but she would rather not ask Melusine, and she frankly had doubts as to whether Baobhan Sith could handle Tier 3.
Luckily, there happened to be three other people in the lobby at the time with various levels of eagerness for a fight. Before long, the four of them are gathered in what could be called the colosseum's waiting room, Barghest crossing her arms underneath her chest as she gazes out towards her soon-to-be teammates.
"It's likely we'll face both close-range and long-distance combat here, along with whatever else the organizers see fit to send our way. If any of you have any weak points now would be the time to mention them." She declares. "It's not a matter of pride. We fae are averse to iron; if something is your iron, then I don't want to find out about it when it's in the middle of running you through."
👻 "So you are Kyrie. I wasn't sure since you were so green." The sun was setting which meant that Perona's bat instincts had told her it was fine to fly. She wanted to explore Diapool but had come across a familiar face on the town's outskirts instead.
Smirking from above has they had walked below her, Perona had been dangling upside down from a tree branch with her wings wrapped around her. If not for the ears and the hands and feet, you might've mistaken her for a vampire.
"This situation is a little weird, don't you think? But I like your hair! Very pretty."
