one thing that is bothering me abt totk is that no one is talking abt the events of botw so far? like im not sure how long its been in the timeline, but i dont think its been long enough for every character to decide its not worth mentioning any more in regards to new disastrous events

and like. i get it in terms wanting to freshen up the landscape by removing the sheikah tech that is not relevant to this game’s plot (i imagine the towers and shrines just went back underground, but everyone VERY efficiently cleared up all the guardians AND divine beasts i guess), and wanting to make it as accessible as possible to ppl who havent played botw whilst also having it be billed as a sequel, but it just feels a lil.. disjointed

like a rito character has just told me that theyve never heard of anyone being able to create winds at will before but like? wasnt that revali’s whole deal?? yknow, ur revered historical warrior and champion??? was this a translation error or smth, because i feel like im being utterly bamboozled here like events in botw didnt happen

totk is the first game ive played in a long while where there are enemies that genuinely make me go “oh goD what the fuCK WHAT THE FUCK IS THAT !!!??!!! ARGHG” and panic gfjlfkl

ive been having a gr8 time but i should go to bed lmao

some tears of the kingdom thoughts below! (ive only just got to the first quest point on the surface for spoiler reference)

sick ass intro!! i luv it when a game just lets you walk and soak in the atmosphere

and that animation on the mummy was wonderfully unsettling 10/10

sky islands super pretty! im getting some skyloft vibes but what its actually reminding me the most of is yknow that aether mod for minecraft that the yogs did a short playthrough of yonks ago? that!

For that reason i saw some big birds and thought oooOO can i ride these?? are these like horses but for the sky islands?!!!?? sadly not, they are just fodder :’(

Zelda’s voice also sounds a lil off but hopefully i’ll get used to it

My brain isnt v good with/not particularly interested in challenging construction things so hopefully there isnt too much complex fusing awaiting me since it seems p integral to the mechanics

i think u have to fuse ur own weapons in this game which may annoy me in the same way that breaking weapons apparently annoyed some ppl in botw lol

that being said, link’s lil giggle of glee when u stick some shit together and then pummel something with it is Very enjoyable gjgklg
