location — the hot cocoa stop.
character — @emelinecormier
Despite the terrible report she'd raked over too many times to count, excitement still brewed from within. It was the day that Emmy made the first steps towards moving her stuff into Ver's place, an attempt at making their shared space rather than a place the chef slept every so often. It was one of the very reasons she had left the bakery in Ingrid's hands for the evening, the anticipation of what she'd walk into at home getting the best of her. Her heart dared to beat out of her chest as she twisted the handle to the unlocked door, fully prepared to see boxes stacked to the ceiling. Instead, a single box sat atop the coffee table. It was bigger than a shoe box, but smaller than the kind of box she'd expected. "This is it? This is what you've moved today?" Maybe there were more boxes elsewhere? She swallowed down the lump of disappointment that had bobbed in her throat, gaze bouncing between the single box and her wife. "There are more boxes somewhere in this house, right? Tell me there are more boxes," she quietly and calmly questioned. Was this the moment she found out that everything they'd discussed had been forgotten? "Emmy, where the hell are the other boxes?" Once more, the level tone took her by surprise, but there was nothing soft about the sharp pointed look she offered towards the chef.

Despite the temperatures steadily dropping in Colorado, the craving for ice cream had been strong enough for Phoebe to bundle up despite herself and head to the ice cream store. She was determined to have a good day, despite how tired she was recently. But when she got there, and found out they had run out of cookies and cream - the only flavor she ever got - it was hard to not take it as a slight from the universe.
Sensing a small queue behind her, Phoebe took it upon herself to step aside, smiling bashfully at the woman behind her. "I...they don't have what I wanted so I need a minute to choose. You go right ahead." She offered.

"Are you overwhelmed or underwhelmed right now? What's your whelmed status?" Reggie implores, very aware he was in the first category as he surveys the almost too many options surrounding him in the store when it came to procuring a bedframe. He's managed to go his entire adult life without ever having to purchase one of his own volition, hopping around rentals as he hopped around countries.
Already he's found himself met with the downsides of aiming to stay in one place for longer than six months.
Luckily for him, Providence Peak was littered with good people that made that transition easier for him, and Emmy was one of the best. Her presence alone on his arduous consumer journey spoke truth to that.

"I seen a four poster one over that way," He points over his shoulder with his thumb, to where there was a display one that looked like it belonged in Dracula's abode, "I can't honestly say I'm not tempted."

Closed: @emelinecormier – Playing sous chef with Emmy.
Asher was not skilled in cooking, which was a source of frustration for her. Despite being quick to learn other things, she always failed when it came to cooking. Her dishes were either overcooked or undercooked, which meant she relied heavily on Sage, takeout, and frozen foods. Cooking was not something she enjoyed, and she only cooked when she had to. However, Asher loved trying other people's cooking and tasting their dishes. She was a big fan of Emmy, one of her favorite chefs, and was always willing to be a guinea pig for whatever new creation the chef whipped up. "What do we have here today?" she asked with a smile as the aroma of spices filled her nostrils.

With a small album in hand for the recent bride to browse through and view a good amount of the shots she'd taken at the wedding along with the flashdrive in her bag, Ale entered the establishment that had held the morning after brunch.
There was a quick conversation with the hostess about having a meeting with Emeline and that the chef and owner should be expecting her, then she was nearly venturing toward the bar entertaining the idea of ordering a little something to settle the chaos inside her head.
If only such a thing wasn't so unprofessional.
Tumblr media
It was only a few minutes before a smile spread across her lips and her hand extended formally, something that often came over her whenever meeting with a client, as Emeline approached. "Hey, promise I won't take too much of your time. I can tell you're busy."
The album was handed over first, "this is for you to browse through and make selections on prints if you'd like. I also have the drive with all the photos for you."

( continued from here - with @emelinecormier )
He scoffed good naturedly. Twelve hours felt like nothing, and he decided to say so. "Only twelve? Child's play." The Albert Torres of today was a far cry from the arrogant teenager who sauntered through life in the Upper East Side, but he still had that smugness in him, that he never tapped into anymore. A lot of shit had went down to realise at some pint he had to stop being a cocky son of a bitch all the time. Occasionally though, was fair.  But nevertheless, he glanced over at Emmy, smiling, because he was still in a teasing mood as well. "I appreciate that," He said of her offer of help, with sincerity. He was a quick learner, and had always adapted well to the environment thrown into, and he knew not everyone was as lucky as him in terms of competence, so he appreciated that, despite his years of experience, there was a helping hand in navigating uncharted waters. He hummed at her remark, thinking back to the nights he had left Sheri still fast asleep, not coming home until way after she had taken herself to bed, as if she had spent the entire day in slumber as he worked. How he had missed her, but not enough. Not enough to get more days off, or cut his days short on slow days. "Your poor girlfriend, I'm sure she understands though, especially when it comes to prime viewing spots on sunrises."

location: the park
who: @emelinecormier
Ximena almost lost hope, thinking that after their first horrendous meeting, Emeline (or Emmy, as she preferred) would never reach out again. Of course her daughter wasn’t really interested in getting to know her, why would she? Who in their right mind would forgive the parent who abandoned them? Even if that was never her intention, the older woman has made some serious damage that wasn’t so easily repaired, if at all.
But then Emmy called, suggesting they’d meet up at the local park. Ximena was awfully excited, this time somewhat less anxious as she assumed things couldn’t be worse than they already are, so there’s no harm in trying again. This time she brought along with her a few things she forgot the last time they met, a few family photos and personal belongings she might find interesting. As she arrived, wearing her new clothes and a nervous expression, she offered Emmy a nod, “Hey, uh- what’s up?” She inquired, feeling a little better about her English as she’s been practicing it nonstop. “I’m really glad you called, this means a lot.” She mentioned, hoping it’s not a mistake to wear her heart on her sleeve.

“Please ignore Milo, he’s not into humans.” Getting comfortable on the picnic table, the brunette smile over at Emeline, hoping she wouldn’t mind her curious cat, who seemed to hiss at them for no reason. “Sometimes I think he’s not into me either, but what can I say -- I signed up for it.” Maya joked, letting out a laugh. “I can’t believe I didn’t invite you over for dinner sooner.” she added, reaching for a slice of pizza to put on her plate. “I’ve been so busy this week, that I actually had to force myself away from my tablet for a couple of hours. But tell me -- how have you been?”

location / emmy's place
Thierry couldn't believe the odds. The entire time he had lived in Providence and not once did he have a single clue that Ver and Emmy had history. The conversation had never come up and he had never seen the two together. What made the situation even more awkward was that Thierry had been hooking up with Emmy around the same time he had going on romantic dates with Ver. This was before Jamal entered the picture, when the cop was a total and complete mess when it came to his love life. He was still good friends with both women and he wanted to keep it that way. Getting everything out in the air felt like the right thing to do. He hit up Emmy to hang out over a couple of beers. She still hadn't told him about her recent nuptials, and he wasn't sure if she would, so Thierry was prepared to bring up the subject if he had to.
The police officer walked into Emmy's home after she greeted him at the door, resting the case of beer on her coffee table. "So, what's been going on with you? Any new news to share since we last saw each other?"

They'd stopped for food first, because one did not go shopping hungry. Karuna finished off the last bite of her sandwich, aiming for a dunk shot into a nearby wastebasket and letting out a triumphant whoop when she made it. And then she held the door open for Emmy, ushering them both inside from the cold December air. "Some days I feel like my Cali blood is never going to get used to this level of cold, jessssus harold christ," she murmured. After one final shiver, she focused in on the shop, eyes bright with excitement as she scanned the space. "So when I attempt to leave with half this shop, which I can promise you will happen, it is your job to remind me that I cannot purchase more than I can fit in the trunk of my Corolla. And that trunk already has a hope chest in it sooo...." Karuna gestured towards the left with a tilt of her head. "Come on. We start on the outside and then work our way in. The hidden gems are always crammed onto the wall shelving units. Keep an eye out for any vintage cameras. I've got a client I'm designing for who goes ham for anything made before the 70's."

closed starter for @emelinecormier at the hotel in vegas
The minutes, hours, and sometimes even days after a fight were some of the hardest for Ty. Every inch of her was hurting, bruises were swelling up in places she didn't even know could bruise, cuts were bleeding everywhere, and her head felt like a freight train had run through it. After going through medical afterwards, Ty was let go, her brain in a complete fog as she was shuffled back to her hotel. Ty didn't even really realize where she was going until her coach set her in the elevator and sent her up to her floor. By the time she was up and out of the elevator, her mind was blank once again, her brain grasping for anything solid to hold on to through the pressure that was building in it.
Walking out into the hallway, her eyes scanned around, everything processed through a haze. Which room was hers? Did she even have her key? What if this wasn't even her floor? The worries were mounting, the confusion bringing an anxiety that was slowly creeping up in her chest. Looking down, Ty realized she was at least holding her key. Maybe her coach had given it to her, maybe she'd grabbed it herself. The memories were fuzzy of the last hour since the fight, bits and pieces of it coming back to her like a bunch of puzzle pieces that she didn't know how to put back together.
She was still standing rooted in the same spot when the elevator dinged again, sending another wave of pain to her head. Not quite able to turn her neck from how stiff it already was, Ty slowly trudged to turn around, a wave of relief settling when she saw it was Emmy. "Hey," she mumbled out, the word coming out slowly, like she was fumbling to even form the syllable at all. Her eyes closed for a second, trying to refocus to find the question that had popped in and out of her brain already. "Going out tonight?" Not the question she'd initially wanted to ask, but the easiest one to grab onto. They were in Vegas, they should be out, they should be celebrating.

location — the bonfire bash of 2023.
character — @emelinecormier
It was Emmy's flannel that she'd tied around her waist before walking out the front door and saying goodbye to her humble abode. She could count on one hand how many times she'd been camping, but no fingers would remain up when counting how many times she'd enjoyed it. Nature was pretty, but she recalled all too well how the last bonfire had gone. Was it guilt bubbling up in her chest once more, or was it the realization that every moment had led to this? "Seems like everyone is excited." Her gaze bounced between Emmy putting up their tent and so many others who were doing the same. "I can... help? Or I could stand and watch. I'm fine with either," she half teased with a small grin. The baker tugged at the arms of the flannel, tightening it around her waist in an attempt at keeping her hands busy.

character: Emeline Cormier @emelinecormier
location: Sinners & Saints Valentine's Party
There was an array of dressed up and dressed down people surrounding the ballroom. Lorelai had gone for a more elegant take on a saint, mostly because she was nothing if not the opposite of one. Though she felt it could absolutely be argued she looked ethereal nonetheless. She gave a smile at the familiar woman as she came to view. "Emmy, it's good to see you. I was actually looking for you the other day to check how you've been at Amelie's. This is quite a set up, enjoying yourself?"

Roman knew, he fucking knew, that the minute they had entered this party, Ophelia would find a reason to bail him. He only agreed to come because she pointed out he’d be home all alone when everyone who was anyone was at this Valentine’s party, including his radio co-workers. When he had pointed out, due to the theme, he really didn’t want to see his co-workers, his sister told him to grow up. So here he was, tucked into the corner, watching the revelers in various states of undress, drinking and dancing and having fun, unlike him. “Is this something…common in this town?” He asked someone in earshot, though not looking at them, giving them an opportunity to simply walk away.

“Do you think it would be weird if I got Ty a present?” Jeanie stared down at the display of glittering jewellery laid out on the Silver Lining stall without really taking any of it in. What did you even get a person you maybe might be sleeping with, and also maybe not, if anything? She was pretty sure Ty wasn't a jewellery person either way, but it couldn't hurt to check, right? She glanced at Emmy uncertainly. The two of them had been wandering between booths, sipping cocoa and finding the weirdest ornaments they could for the tree at the Green Dragon, with Jeanie nabbing last minute gifts here and there. She hadn't really thought about whether she should get Ty something or not until this moment when the little display of 'gifts for your loved ones' caught her eye. She wasn't even sure if Ty liked her like that. “It would, right? I mean... does she even celebrate Christmas? Festive doesn't really seem like her vibe. Oh my God, I bet she's a Grinch, isn't she? Or Scrooge? Should I get her a nightcap and one of those weird Victorian candles he walks around with?”

character: Emeline Cormier @emelinecormier
location: Rachel's 39th Birthday Party
"You know this is starting to be a set up for a new rendition for Four Weddings and a Funeral. We got my funeral, and then your wedding. Now we'll just need three more. Or should we count you twice since there was the first one in Vegas?" Rachel teased her friend as she stood by the corners of the dance floor she'd placed in her backyard that was surrounded by little tombstones. She was very glad that Emmy was able to make it, especially since it was only five days away from her wedding. "How are you feeling about the big day being just around the corner?" Rachel said with obvious excitement permeating through her tone.
