How to Avoid High-Cost Commercial Door Emergency Service in Philadelphia?
Tumblr media
Most businesses in Philadelphia depend mostly on their doors to protect and secure their buildings or business establishments on 24 hours-a-day, 7 days-a-week, 365 days-a-year bases.
Anyone operating a commercial business or property would surely know that the failure of any door system can generate a business-critical issue like costly commercial door emergency services that need to be resolved quickly.
Overhead Door Company of Philadelphia, a division of DuraServ Corp, a leader in loading dock solutions in Philadelphia and surrounding cities in Pennsylvania, offers this commercial door overview and how to avoid high-cost commercial door emergency service in Philadelphia.
What is a commercial door?
Commercial doors are specifically designed and created for commercial purposes. They are utilized in schools, office buildings, stores, hospitals, manufacturing industries, and other related commercial buildings. These doors are manufactured with extra strength and durability as compared to residential doors to be able to withstand weather elements and different levels of abuse.
Our Commercial Doors offers several types of Commercial Sectional Steel Door products that would suit ideally for your loading dock business.
What are the types of commercial doors?
Commercial doors are mainly used in commercial establishments or buildings and are expected to perform in a variety of ways, however, there are four basic types of doors:
1. Roll-up Doors
Roll-up doors are the most common type of door, found mostly in both commercial and residential settings. They come in various sizes, configurations, and sizes, and offers multiple benefits.
2. Fire Rated Doors
A fire rated door is a type of a door made from fire-resistant materials and can help prevent the spread of fire throughout the building.
3. Scissor Gates
A scissor gate is a type of steel folding gate door commonly used on storefronts and businesses as a form of protection in public areas. They are often used in commercial businesses to add more protection to glass or to quarter off an area as convention stairwells or loading docks.
4. Overhead Doors
An Overhead door, either of roll-up or swing-up, when it opens up makes a horizontal positioning above a door opening. Also considered to be the conventional commercial door, and often used as a door for garages.
For High-Speed Doors, we have top of the line High-Speed or High-Performance Doors in the industry of loading dock doors. Learn more about our High-Performance Doors, by selecting the link.
What are the common commercial door problems?
Commercial doors eventually malfunction or fail to operate. Here we, consider the most common commercial door problems:
 Defective Rollers
Door rollers are the wheels on which the door sits, and they transfer the door along the track. These rollers can be metal, nylon, or plastic. Depending on its usage and life-span, some may decrease the radius of its wheel and eventually will wear away.
Impaired Torsion Spring
When your commercial door does not move up, the culprit could be a broken torsion spring. A torsion spring provides the lifting power when using an electric door opener. Besides wearing out after overuse, torsion springs are also vulnerable to rust, especially when exposed to outside elements.
Damaged Cables
Depending on what kind of spring system your door uses, it has cables with different tasks to perform. If you are using torsion spring systems, the cable can get damaged and the door will not move. For extension spring systems, the cables are the safety measures, however, are also susceptible to wear and tear. If the cables show signs of breaking down or damage, you need to replace them.
To serve everyone at Philadelphia, our Commercial Sectional Doors have a variety of Commercial Sectional Doors to help any type of business application all over Philadelphia.
Who can best solve your emergency commercial door repair needs in Philadelphia?
Considering there are hundreds of door manufacturers in Philadelphia, it would be hard and difficult to decide which company offers the best emergency commercial door repair services.
One thing for certain, we recommend a One-Stop-Shop door provider- Overhead Door Company of Philadelphia, a division of DuraServ, the largest distributor in the world for the leading manufacturers of loading dock equipment and hi-speed doors. Antique Allure! The 10 Oldest Homes To Land on the Market This Week
realtor.com
Homes from the United States’ glorious past have surfaces that have been touched and polished over hundreds of years. Their stories and secrets have developed over the centuries. Owners of these (very) old homes are more than simply residents. They are also caretakers of historic structures.
Interested in joining the society of owners of these venerable homes? We’ve rounded up the 10 oldest homes to hit the market this week.
All of these places were built in the 1700s—the oldest dates back to 1720. Of course, some are in better shape than others. A couple were picked up and moved to new lots decades ago, but all share substantial character and vintage charm.
Coastal Colonials, a Bucks County beauty with beamed ceilings, and a fairy-tale farmhouse ringed with heirloom lilacs are just a few of the centuries-old homes up for grabs right now. So if you swoon over wide-plank floors, hand-carved doors, and ornate mantels, prepare yourself for love at first sight.
Here are the 10 oldest homes to go up for sale this week…
1. 8 Burrs Ln, Providence, RI
Price: $625,000
Built in 1720: The crisp, white Joseph Whipple House was originally located just a couple of streets from where it sits now, on the city’s East Side. It was moved in 1979 from nearby Star Street, and given a modern makeover with custom millwork, hand-made doors and windows, as well as antique wide pine floors. As a result, the two-bedroom home is airy and full of natural light. Outside, stone walls surround the yard with professionally designed gardens, a wood patio, and a hidden garden shed.

How I Created My Own She-Shed – Reader Story https://ift.tt/2QzhFjt
Did you update your bathroom? Revamp your kitchen? Install new flooring? We would love to share your project, big or small! Send us what you did and our editorial team will consider it for our “My Fresh Home” series, which will be published every Thursday. Check out our submission instructions at the bottom of the page.
Today we want to share a story from TPG reader Krissy, who built her own she-shed in her backyard:
Tumblr media
The over-sized shed in our backyard that was made over into a home office.
My husband would likely die if he read that headline, especially because he is using our new she-shed too. We should really call it a “We-shed.” This is the story of how we turned our over-sized shed into an amazing work space for two!
Why do we need a she-shed?
This project all came about when we found out we were expecting our third child.  While absolutely thrilled with this news, it meant that our 4 bedroom home no longer included a home office. During my maternity leave, my husband took a new job and his commute changed from taking the train into the city to sitting on our bed working from his computer. I also work from home and have been doing so for about two years. When maternity leave was up, and I needed to reclaim the bedroom as my office, we thought that this house might not work for us anymore.
We considered a couple of options for our home office. This included everything from buying a new house-not in the budget, to renting an expensive office space, to converting our garage into an office. Then one day I said what about our shed?  When we bought our house two years ago, it came with a huge shed used by the previous owner as a woodworking space. We literally only used it to store a lawn mower and a canoe, so we thought this may be a viable option. The shed already had electricity, and we thought it would only need heat and a WiFi signal to be all set. If only it were that easy!
Tumblr media
Manland in the fall.
Prior to this, my husband had initially claimed this shed and its land as his own and called it ‘Manland.’ Since the kids play area took over our basement, he had no man cave space to claim for himself. So he moved to the wood near our shed and built a fire pit area. He strung some lights, added some Adirondack chairs and made a really cozy little campground dubbed “Manland.” This space stayed Manland for about 2 months and now has been turned into our We-Shed…with a cozy fire pit for s’mores breaks.
Laying the plans to build a she-shed
Tumblr media
The minimal interior of the shed allowed us to determine its viability as an office pretty easily.
Deciding to convert our shed into a home office was the easy part; figuring out IF we could convert it took a lot more work.  Living in the Northeast, our weather conditions played a big role on the development of our shed. If you live in San Diego or any other comfortable 74 degree location, you may be able to skip the insulation and heating/cooling portion of this process. Here in Pittsburgh, PA, we knew insulation and heat was a must.
Creating a comfortable space
Tumblr media
We added insulation to the walls, ceiling and beneath the floor boards to keep the external elements outside.
To determine if the shed could be a warm and comfortable space in the dead of winter, we hired a contractor to come out and check out our space. It was easy to figure out what we needed to do because the space was just framing, no drywall or really anything but the bare bones of a structure. The contractor recommended that we add insulation to the walls and ceiling to protect from the exterior elements. He also ripped up the plywood floorboards and added a water barrier to protect the floors from the bare ground below. This would ensure warmth but also serve as a moisture barrier. On top of the barrier he laid more insulation before adding new floor boards.
Tumblr media
It’s starting to come together. The shiplap paneling is getting installed.
Because a shed is more exposed to the elements, we opted for wood paneling walls vs. sheets of drywall. This would also help to protect against moisture. Now I’m sure when you think wood paneling you are thinking your grandfather’s 1970’s television den, but paneling has come a long way people! Perhaps you have been living under a rock and aren’t familiar with the term “shiplap,” but thanks to the influence of Joanna Gaines we fell in love with the white shiplap look. So that is exactly what we selected.  (PS taking three kids to Home Depot to pick out your She-Shed materials isn’t exactly an enjoyable way to spend a morning.)
Tumblr media
Three kids in Home Depot, not a relaxing way to spend a Saturday.
At Home Depot we also selected our floor covering. Now if you thought paneling was dated, wait for this term… VINYL. I promise, this was a great option for our space and like wood paneling it’s evolved a lot since that 1980’s kitchen look we all remember. The vinyl comes on a big roll 12 ft wide and cut to whatever length you need.  Our space is an 11 foot box, so this meant we wouldn’t have any seems in our floor, another way to protect from moisture. It was also super affordable.
Tumblr media
Vinyl has come a long way since my childhood 1980’s kitchen.
Power, internet and flipping the switch
We really thought that insulating and making the shed feel comfortable would be the extent of our work. When our contractor came out to inspect what we were working with, however, we learned that we needed to add some additional elements. I mentioned earlier that there was electricity to the shed, but the voltage was too low to power all of our office equipment and we needed to beef up our panel with the necessary voltage.  Unfortunately, the conduit that ran the power from our house to the shed was too small to hold the additional wire. This meant we needed to retrench our yard.
Tumblr media
Thanks to the new wiring run up to the shed, we have a TV that we can use indoors as well as outdoors.
We had our friend who runs a landscaping business rent out the necessary equipment to dig an 18 inch deep trench in our yard the 120 feet from our house to the shed.  Luckily we knew that we had a fairly large gas line buried in our back yard so we made sure to reach out through 411 to have the team come out and mark where the line was.  To be sure we didn’t cut this line, we hand dug the trench in this area. After we dug the trench we were able to run a new conduit to the shed with the appropriate power needed as well as the lines needed to have ethernet, cable and phone service in the shed. My husband was thrilled with this addition because it mean he could have a television in Manland.  Football and firepits all fall long!
The additional power capacity was an added expense and something that we didn’t really anticipate, but was necessary to make the space function for our needs. The trench and electrician work nearly doubled our initial budget. This did not make me happy at the time, but I can now say I’m so happy we did it the right way.
All the little details
Tumblr media
We have walls, floors, baseboard heat and lights… it’s looking like an office!
We are still in the midst of adding details to make the office shed feel really comfortable, but here are some of the things we’ve done so far to make it workable. We added two matching desks from IKEA.  We already had one desk so we added another and put them right beside each other to allow us to make the best use of our space. This also allows us to enjoy the sunshine that comes through our screen door. Come summer we will have to think through ways to keep our space cool (an HVAC unit was not in the budget at this time), but having a screen door should allow for some nice breezes. Speaking of temperature, we added two baseboard heating systems. These run off electricity and keep the space super warm. We keep them on all day to make sure the space is super comfortable as soon as we arrive every morning.
Tumblr media
Screen door added for extra sunlight and a warm summer breeze.
We also added LED can lights that have various colors of brightness. Sometimes LED lighting can be too white, almost like fluorescent lights, so we like that we can adjust the softness of these lights to make sure the lighting is just right.  We also added a place to put our shoes, hang our coats and wipe our feet so that we don’t trek mud, dirt and moisture into the space. We are in the midst of hanging whiteboards and bulletin boards and hope to add some art to the space to punch up the color.
Cost and evaluation of our shed renovation
Tumblr media
Desks and computers are in and the space has been fully functional for about a month.
All in we spent nearly $9,000 to renovate, rewire, insulate and furnish our shed office. It’s way more then we had hoped to spend, our original budget was $6,000, but totally worth it. The space has been a huge boost to our productivity and has allowed us a space to escape for work.  Oftentimes, when you work from home it’s hard to separate work and home life.  Having this separate space has really allowed us to leave our work in the office shed at the end of the day to come back down to our house and enjoy our lives with our little family.

How I Created My Own She-Shed – Reader Story
How to Detect Air Leaks and Stop Hemorrhaging Money on Your Energy Bill
SonjaBK/iStock
It doesn’t matter if your home was built in 1968 or 2018: There’s a good chance it has at least a few air leaks. So what, you ask? Well, an increase in unwanted airflow could cut into your cash flow in the long run.
“If you’re not sealing your home against air leakage, you’re significantly reducing your energy efficiency,” says Michael DiMartino, senior vice president of installations at Power Home Remodeling in Chester, PA.
In addition to losing heat or air conditioning, you could also be overworking your HVAC system, which could shorten its life span.
So where are these air leaks most likely to occur? Let’s discuss how to test for air leakage and where to search both inside and outside your home.
Signs of an air leak
A generally drafty home is one of the most obvious signs of some air leakage (even if the actual source of said draftiness may be tougher to determine, since it’s usually not just from doors or windows). Another likely sign: If you notice an increase in your monthly utility bills, or you discover that it costs more to heat and cool your house compared with a similarly sized home in your neighborhood. An air leak could also be throwing your thermostat out of whack.
“If you live in a two-story home with a basement and notice the second floor is hot but the basement is very cold, your ductwork is probably leaking,” says Ken Summers, vice president of training at Aeroseal, based in Centerville, OH, which provides duct sealing services.
Do you dust all of the time, but find that it accumulates faster than you can keep up? That’s a good indicator of air leakage in a home’s supply ventilation system.
“This can cause negative pressure in the house, which draws dusty air in from attics, crawl spaces, and garages,” Summers says. And if symptoms of common outdoor allergies tend to get worse when you’re indoors, it’s probably because outdoor air is leaking in, messing up your indoor air quality.
Air leaks outside the home
When inspecting your property for air leaks, “be on the lookout for gaps or cracks in the foundation, but also be advised that foundation cracks can be indicative of more significant issues than air leakage,” says DiMartino.
You should also look for any cracks or gapping in the caulking around doors and windows.
“If windows are steamed up on the inside, this means the seal is broken and can create air leakage,” says Randy Smith, franchise consultant at Aire Serv.
“Inspect all corners of brick and siding, chimney chases, and exterior electrical,” Smith says. “Look for gaps, holes, or cracks, and consider sealing them with cement or caulk.”
Air leaks inside the home
Most of the major leaks are under the insulation in your basement and attic.
“Here, you will find holes where the electrical wires, phone and internet lines, and HVAC and plumbing pipes run down the walls,” Smith says. “Seal those holes with caulking or expanding foam.”
He also recommends looking for areas where studs are exposed and not covered by drywall or plaster.
“Some of the top places are behind knee walls, above dropped ceilings and soffits, and above angled ceilings over stairs,” Smith says. If you push back the insulation, you can find many of these leaks.
Dryer vents are another common source of air leakage.
“If you detect an odor in your laundry room while the dryer is running that is similar to wet clean laundry, or if it appears to be humid, steamy, or you see a lot of lint, that may mean piping is loose and the air is escaping into your laundry room,” says Dave Lavalle, founder of Dryer Vent Wizard.
“The best thing homeowners can do is take a video behind the dryer while it’s running and see if there are dust bunnies in the air,” Lavalle advises.
How to test for air leaks
Looking for holes can confirm air leaks, but there are also several DIY methods you can try.
“Hold a candle or lighter in front of a questionable area to see if there’s a draft,” says DiMartino. If the flame flickers, there’s air movement occurring. (Just make sure the HVAC is off.)
Home renovation specialist Anthony Carrino, on behalf of Trane Residential, recommends using a simple hand test.
If the weather is hot outside, turn on your AC so the home gets cold; if the weather is cold outside, turn on your heat so it gets warm. Walk the perimeter of your home and run your hand along your baseboards, windows, doors, and electrical outlets to see if there is a difference in temperature, he says. If you notice a significant difference, it means you have an air leak.
The most effective way to inspect for air leaks, however, is to hire a professional to perform an energy audit.

Precautionary measures can save home headaches in the bitter cold - Story | WTXF
UPPER DARBY, Pa. (WTXF) – Cold weather can pose serious problems in the home, such as broken pipes or busted heaters and cause major headaches.
“Pay attention to what it sounds like, it’s cycle, does it sound normal?” said heating expert John Cippollone.
Cippollone says that goes for any type of heating system – electric, oil or gas, old or new.
“If it is supposed to be running and it’s not, reset it. A lot of times, it takes 15 to 20 seconds. It’ll try to start again,” said Cippollone. “If it doesn’t?” asked Fox 29’s Joyce Evans. “Well, I would turn it off,” Cippollone replied.
And, if there is no switch, get one installed. The safest thing he says a person can do.
“Turn the switch off,” Cippollone said.
Even for water pipes to outside spigots.
“You just turn the little valve off, unplug it. When these things freeze, they split,” Cippollone explained. “So you won’t see the problem now?” asked Evans. “You’ll see it when it starts to thaw,” replied Cippollone.
Cippollone says precautionary measures can save the most headaches down the road, and maybe even save lives.
“If you’re going to run a space heater, put a nice, heavy cord on it and don’t overload the circuit,” Cippollone explained.
He says kerosene heaters are fine as long as people use them properly. How about wrapping pipes in unheated areas?
“It’ll slow the process down, but if it stays 10 degrees for two days, the garage is going to be, like, 15 degrees,” Cippollone replied. “Don’t open and close doors often. You’ve gotta keep things tightened up. You should see the homes we go in and they never lower the storm windows.”
With his knowledge and technology, Cippollone still trusts the ways of old in harsh winter weather. A wood burning stove and oil lanterns are his methods of choice.
“A lot of times, old-fashioned is good,” Cippollone added.

I have just passed my driving test well its been almost 8 months now and everywhere I look car insurance is too expensive, have done a lot of research and really need a car as keep getting rejected for jobs on the basis of I don't own a car/ have my own transportation as companies do not want to pay for transport in these economical times, been looking at vauxhall corsa 1.2 litre or less, Ford Fiesta 1.2 litre petrol, peagout 207 renaault clio as well. If anyone can provide me with useful tips to reduce or get the 'cheapest' insurance can be third party only for young drivers I would apprecaite it. Also any tricks or hints which can be used for extra haggling as well when confirming quotes on the phone would help. My current budget is betwen 500 - 3000 for a car and would ideally want insurance at under 2000. The cheapest quote I got was for a citroen c1 at 1950 third party only but found the car was in excess of 3000 on autotrader, Are there any cars which are low insurance group i.e. groups 1 and 2, cheap to insure, cheap road tax and cheap running costs. I have mates who have got insurance quotes at 900 and do not understand how they have got it that low. Sure enough post code has an affect but they drive vauxhall corsa in fully comprehensive at them prices.""

What is the average employee portion of a health insurance policy?
What percentage of the health insurance costs do most companies cover (I recognize that this can vary greatly, but I am looking for general numbers)? For Cigna - what is the average monthly cost for a family consisting of parents and one child (likewise, I recognize that this can vary greatly - I am just trying to get a ballpark figure)? I ask these as my current employer (250+ people) is offering Cigna insurance for about $750 a month which covers my wife, myself and my daughter. Best Health Insurance For Self Employed?
I really need help finding a good health insurance option. I started my own company in 2009 and have kept it active and grew it slowly ever since. I was, until recently, employed at a large bank where I had good health and dental benefits. I recently left the job to take my business full time and scale it up. I am doing that full time now and it's been about a month since I left my job. I elected to keep my dental insurance through COBRA, because it will only cost me about $23/month. However, to keep my health insurance through COBRA would cost me almost $500/month and I felt that was too much. I have read all the paperwork and believe that I can still elect COBRA for my health insurance for about another month. They give you 60 days from your last day. However, I believe there has to be a better/more affordable option. I am 26 years old and healthy, but God forbid anything ever happened, I want to be covered. Also, if my girlfriend ever got pregnant and I had a child, I would want to be able to sleep at night knowing that I have the health insurance for this. What are my options here? Are there good companies out there that are more affordable than the $450+/month I would have to pay if I kept the United Healthcare plan that I had at my previous job? All advice is appreciated. Thanks!""

I have held a full uk driving licence for 14 years.......my husband (who has a provisional licence) was put on my new policy last year as a named driver. I expected the monthly premiums to rise a little, but what happened next confused and angered me and I really need to know if there is anything I can do......he we go....they said they could no longer insure me and my husband and that they would cancel the policy and were gving me 7 days notice before this happened, (why cant it just be amended, i know loads of people that have done this) they said it was a special deal for me because i had a provisional driver as my named driver..(to me this makes no sense, they work on risk, surely they wouldnt give special deals for unexperienced drivers?) but the icing on the cake they want to charge a 40 cancellation fee, however i am not cancelling they are??? also i can take out a new policy with them which i have to pay an admin fee for making a change to the policy, however it is supposedly a brand new policy??? Has anyone any idea what to do or any ideas? i know I could just change insurers however it would be easier and cheaper to stay with who i'm with and I was never told when I took the policy that if my husband passed his test this one would be void..........and this is more principle as I dont like being hadover, I am going to phone and kick off tomorrow, but want to know if anyone has any solid rules and regs on this. Insurance on a 1998-1999 Mitsubishi eclipse GSX at age 16?
Alright so I am 14 right now. In 2 years I will be driving, and I am very into cars. I am looking to purchase a 1998-1999 Mitsubishi Eclipse GSX. Since an eclipse is considered a sports car how much would much insurance be a month? Imagine I have a perfect status (No wrecks etc., and above a 3.5 GPA). Also if I get an Eclipse GS is that still considered a sports car since it is not AWD, and is not turbocharged?""
Why won't insurance pay for my MRI?
I'm 16 and I've been having problems with my TMJ. So a month or two ago I went to the hospital for an MRI on both sides of my jaw. Yesterday my mother told me that they are charging $11,000 for my MRI and insurance isn't going to pay for it. She also told me my maxillofacial specialist told her at the most it should have been $3000 total or $1200 for each side. Why does insurance pay for the surgery to correct TMJ disorders but not the MRI to diagnose it? Even when surgery is a last resort effort to correct the problem and isn't recommended most of the time. And it sucks even more for me once I am 18 because I'm basically screwed.""
Do home/auto insurance companies play favorites with their customers when they pay out claims? ?
This is probably going to come off as a little dumb, but I can't think of another way to phrase it. I'm 25 y/o, a new homeowner, and I already have filed a homeowners claim for water damage. I have had the easiest time in the world with my insurance company paying for repairs, and it actually really suprised me how easy it was. After I filed the claim, I looked around online, and I saw where people were having nightmare problems with their insurance company for the same type of damage I'm claiming. My parents have been with this insurance company for 25+ years. The policy is mine alone, but I have the same agent that they have. I've also been on my parents' car insurance since I turned 16. My parents and I have all been pretty-much accident/claim free, and they always pay their bills on time. Here's my question. When this insurance company was analyzing my claim, did they take into account my parents' longterm business, or are they considering me independent from my parents? I'm asking, because I've heard of companies that drop their clients after one water-damage claim, and I'm a little worried they'll drop me""

A question about compulsory auto insurance?
When I insured my car last month, I told the agent that I want basic insurance, and I thought that was what I purchased. I never any information about my policy, all they sent me was the monthly bill. So today I went to the agent and notified them of this, and they gave me a Coverage Selections Page paper, and I noticed that on part 4 of the compulsory insurance they set my limit to $50,000 while the minimum is only $5000 here in Massachusetts. Apparently the premium for having the $50,000 limit is $503. Since the car is no longer operational due to an accident last Sunday and I want to keep my insurance for four months until I can replace the car, I was wondering how much I would save if I lowered the limit to the state minimum of $5,000?""
The car dealer i bought my car from is saying i need my own insurance policy instead of being covered....?
Im a covered driver under my parents insurance policy. I pay for full coverage myself. I just financed a new car all by myself (my Parents arent on the loan or on my new registration). The car dealership is giving me such a hard time about my insurance, theyre saying im not insured, only my parents are, and i would either need to get my own policy (which would be a lot more expensive) or add one of my parents to the registration/loan. Neither my parents, our auto insurer, or i understand why this is the case. Can you explain This? is the car dealership right??""

I'm 24 years old, have a good driving record, and I am currently on with my dad's insurance. I have a 2005 chevy aveo right now, with almost 75,000miles; and I pay $110 a month for insurance. Unfortunately, my car may be reaching it's end, and I may have to get a new car. I've found a used 2002 ford mustang, 2 door and 14,633 miles on it. How much do you think my insurance would go up? Owner of car but not main driver on insurance ?
Hi I'm 18 in a month, and I'm buying a car on finance and I am paying because it will be my car. My dad will use it the same amount as I will be using it until I have it paid off then it will be completely mine. I was wondering can I be the registered owner of the vehicle but be a named driver on the insurance? I know about fronting but of we drive it equally why wouldn't my dad be the main driver as it is cheaper? But does it mean he has to be the registered owner? Thanks""

Car Insurance Question?
Hello- I was involved in a really bad car accident, where I was the stationary vehicle in my lane and the other driver was completely at fault, texting, speeding at 60+ over, lost control of his car and ended up horizontal in the road- needless to say my car is totaled and the other driver lost his life. He was really close to have taken mine as well. Anyways, my question is how long does it take for the insurance to cut a check so that I can go out and buy a car?""

First time car insurance?
I passed my driving test on the 6th of December 2011 and got a car yesterday. It is a 1.0 litre peugeot 107 56 plate and I'm 22. Wondering where the cheapest place to go for car insurance would be or the cheapest way to do it? I've heard some people go on their Mum's, but you shouldn't do that as it's illegal to say they are the main driver when you are (not sure how this would be proved). I've looked on price comparison sites but they are all still so expensive and I still feel I can get a better quote. The best one has been from an independent insurer called Ingenie at 1300, so I know I can get cheaper on sites that aren't on price comparison ones, if that makes sense! The thing is there's so many was just wondering if anyone knew the cheapest?? Getting bored of typing my details in over and over :) Thankyou x""

Help with motorcycle insurance?
Hello. I am looking into getting a motorcycle, because I have had my motorcycle license for oooooo about 2 days now. I am just wondering if someone can help me with some insurance questions that will better help me decide what kind of bike to buy. For instance does the size of the bike differ in price? For instance if I got a 250 cc bike would I pay alot cheaper then one that is 1100 cc's? And what about make and model? Would a Ninja be cheaper to insure then a honda? Just kind of curious. And what would be the cheapest bike to insure. Further information. I am 24 years old. I have been insured with state farm in my personal vehicle for about 7-8 years now. Unsure if they offer motorcycle insurance, just started looking.I really like street bikes, really hate sports bikes. I am just l;ooking for the bare minimum insurance as I just want to ride and be legal rather then wasting a bunch of money on insurance. I know I have alot of questions, but anything will help me. So someone let me know. Thanks!""
