The Continued Erosion of British Democracy
In May 2021 it was reported that:
“More than 2m voters may lack photo ID required under new UK bill” (Guardian: 11/04/21)
Although there was no evidence that our electoral process was in anyway flawed, being abused or interfered with, the right-wing Tory Party decided to introduce voter ID. US civil rights groups, who know something about Republican interference with the democratic voting process, have called what the Tory Party is doing “voter suppression".
In other words, the Tory government has introduced a legally binding voter requirement that has the effect of potentially  denying millions of the electorate their right to vote The fact that this group of voters – the young, the poor, the homeless, - are demographically more likely to vote Labour or Liberal Democrat is not a coincidence. This is a blatant attempt at ballot rigging.
Am I exaggerating? Possibly, but it is very odd, that older voters, who demographically tend to be vote Conservative, can use their bus passes as proof of identity, whilst students, who demographically tend to vote for more left-wing parties, are not allowed to use their student cards as proof of ID.
On top of the 2 million people estimated to have no photo identity at all, you can add those who do not know they need a valid form of photo ID to vote. Research shows that 25% of those born after 1995 do not realise they now need photo ID to be able to vote.
All of these figures and statistics are guess work at the moment, derived from various polls looking into the problem. Come voting day, and post electoral analysis, we should know exactly how many people will have been disenfranchised by these new rules. Well, that is what you would expect but this isn’t so. Sunak has no intension of  calculating how many voters don't have a "valid" photo ID.
Tory minister refuses to say if number of voters without photo ID will be fully recorded  (Guardian: 27/04/23)
Even the Daily Telegraph, usually a staunch supporter of Conservative Party policies, is disgusted with this anti-democratic interference with the right to vote.
“The new rules on voter ID are a democratic scandal. This expensive new system is a solution to a non-existent problem – the government should be making voting easier, not harder."
I couldn’t agree more.

#PoliticoCD. | Tanganyika: Filing of a complaint against Governor Julie NGUNGWA for "electoral fraud and false criminal record"
#PoliticoCD. | Tanganyika: Filing of a complaint against Governor Julie NGUNGWA for “electoral fraud and false criminal record”
It is a real thunderclap that the Congolese political class has just discovered with the complaint filed on July 29, 2022 by the cabinet Richard Matuli against Governor Julie NGUNGWA accused of electoral fraud while she was nevertheless supported by the director of Cabinet of the Head of State Guylain Nyembo for the Governor elections in the province of Tanganyika. Indeed, the complaint brought…

A discuss with my spouse today made something resurface that I believe a lot of Americans tend to forget... The President, in comparison to say a Prime Minister or a Socialist Leader, has no real power. The American system is set up in a way where The President is basically a figure head to speak for America, but any choices the President proclaims or tries to enact has to first go through Congress and the Supreme Court. While the president can veto or deny anything thats suggested to them for a change, anything the president suggests has to be voted on by Congress. That being said... Im not mad at the president as some people are. He was in another country trying to figure out how to help the Ukraine situation in case anyone has forgotten that thats happening too. So basically this whole overturning of Roe V Wade happened when President Biden wasnt even in his office. They went behind his back to vote on this. He never agreed to it.
That being said, we put way too little advertisements on Congressional or local elections, aka the people who don't seem to care what the president thinks is best for the people and votes for it themselves. Also the same people who pretty much turn our own public votes into electoral votes during the presidential elections.
Im only sharing what I know. Someone who understands politics better can speak on this if they want but the point is this:
The next Congressional election is November 8, 2022
You can find out where to vote here.
Update voters status or register to vote here. [This link seems to work better on a computer. If anyone knows a mobile device link please add it]
Get these congressmen away from our bodies.

Full offense, but isn’t the president allowed to add more Supreme Court members? Like there’s no actual limit because the system is so fucked up, right? So theory bro could just… add, like 5 new members that don’t suck and would actually make good decisions? Idk I might be wrong, but if the government’s not going to do the smart thing and and just abolish stupid outdated systems (i.e. electoral college, Supreme Court, etc.) then maybe we can do something stupid enough that it might cancel out?

right now it’s almost halfway through 2023, and 2024 is an election year in the US. I have started to see a growing proliferation of posts suggesting that there is no difference between the republican and democratic parties--the exact same kind of posts I saw an awful lot of before the last major election here. I am unfollowing folks who post or reblog these sort of posts, as I consider these posts to be fascist propaganda framed as leftist discourse, designed to suppress anti-fascist votes and voters.

Addressing Unaccounted Political Funding Beyond Electoral Bonds - IMPRI Impact And Policy Research Institute
TK Arun Recorded contributions, whether via electoral bonds or plain contributions for which parties issue receipts, form only a part, probably a tiny part, of the total spending by political parties. The bulk of their expenditure is carried out by unaccounted money. Then why have electoral bonds, with their state-sanctioned secrecy? It is unequivocally welcome that the Supreme Court has struck…
