#DurginPark for a final pot pie (and a thoroughly unnecessary, but always delicious Boston Cream Pie.) My heart breaks for the legions who served here, ate here, traveled from around the world to visit one of the five oldest, continuously operated restaurants in the US. I don’t know the full circumstances, but to hear that they are closing their doors on Saturday makes me so sad, so mad. @alisonmartino - like Vintage LA, but 192 years old.   History:

Although there has been a restaurant in the location since 1742,  it truly became a Boston landmark when it was purchased by John Durgin and Eldridge Park in 1827. Since then, the restaurant has changed hands many times, but has stayed, for the most part, unchanged. In January 2013 it was announced that a sublocation will be opening in Logan Airport.
