I really am glad that anime only people finally get to see the funniest thing about Marcille's feelings for Falin, namely how Marcille spends the entire story up to that point fawning over Falin and how cool and powerful and special she is while also acting like Laios is a deranged weirdo who tortures her for fun, only for the story to reveal that Falin is a Carbon Copy of Laios in almost every way and absolutely down with all of the freaky shit he's been up to. Legit comedy gold. I can't get over it. Marcille you're so fucking stupid, I love you.

you know, marcille's line about not wanting to tell her friends about her black magic hits harder now. OF COURSE the party that has been eating, and enjoying eating, the various monsters in the dungeon would have little qualms about this.

of course that they would understand the love and the despair that went into resurrecting Falin.

but eating monsters is already pretty frowned upon by the common populace, no matter how much you explain it to them. even marcille started off very against the idea.

it's no surprise that everyone else's reactions to her black magic were this strong, this distrustful, this isolating. that, no matter how much they did it out of love, it will never be justified in the people's eyes.

it's no surprise, and yet it hurts nonetheless.
