Nishi Kensuke (Hayao) and Batori Shougo (Kazuma) had a live fight today in the Tuesday stream to promo VSS01, and an absolute highlight was when Dragfall ended up in dmg zone on the second turn (Batori’s only G3) causing him to utter the softest, frailest, cutest “ah” I have heard in my entire life, followed by Nishi (casually) saying “and thus Luard as cast his shadow over us”

also Nishi had relayed messages from Enoki and Kondou (Shion and Rin) asking to be on the show soon, big oof, made me pretty emotional rip

What if instead of Yugioh, Yugi played Vanguard? Dragheart Luard would be Dark Magician, switching to Dragfall when Yugi switches to Yami. Buster Blader would be Dragfencer Dagda, Dark Magician girl would be Morfessa. And instead of hunting down the egyptian gods, Yugi would be hunting down the Zeroth Dragons with Ultima as his Slifer

Im sort of amused cause I have another ask in a similar vein, apparently Atem and Shadow Paladin go hand in hand lol.

Except they assigned Pale Moon to Yugi and Shadow Pal to Atem.

But now I’m curious, what deck would Aichi use if he played Duel Monsters.

I’m currently facing my first round opponent. If I had to describe how I were currently feeling, it would be a mix of curiosity, contempt and disgust towards my opponent. I mean, I get that he’s eager to play, but what kind of person would just cheerfully ride an unit or play as if we were on the planet Cray itself?

It’s downright cringey, even if I know the planet itself and the units themselves exist.

In any case. I have already planned my deck with Erika, the most effective strategy I could use, in terms of versatility, is to play with [Dragfencer, Dagda] and [Dragabyss, Luard]. However, what I have that the others don’t are the “Illegal” Version of [Abyss Painter] and [Little Sage, Charon] who allows me to compensate to the main problem a Luard deck would have- that is, Soulblast. Or perhaps general ressource management? Card Advantage is really easy to generate with this deck, but I run out pretty easily on ressources, which is why the combo of the two aforementioned cards gets me free advantage with a Soulcharge that’s converted into a Countercharge.

Nonetheless, the main winning condition isn’t too different, I’m going to pummel my opponent with multiple attacks with overwhelming power. It’s my winning turn.

“Again with this [Abyss Painter], I’ve never seen that card, either in my visions or in real life...”

That person going on visions or whatnot, is he attained with PSYqualia or something? Well, it’s not like any kind of plot armor would help you again overwhelming circumpstances. I’ve set my strategy, optimized the consistency of my winning condition. You won’t win, no matter how much attuned you are with your “avatar”.

“Tch, don’t think you’ll win that easily! Damage Check, Heal Trigger!”

It doesn’t matter, at this point I just need to push for game.

“Attack for 45000.” “Heal Trigger!”

...

“49000, dagda’s skill.” “Heal Trigger!”

“...68000, Vanguard.”  “Heal Trigger!”

Seriously? Well it’s not like he’s got another one in the deck.

“Vanguard’s attack.” “Perfect Guard!” “Drive check, Stand, both on Dagda. Nothing, Stand, power on Fuammnach.”

“That can’t be, I haven’t lost in a year! Not ever since I’ve awakened to this!”

“First time to everything mate, you can’t expect to always win, especially if you didn’t try your best to win.”

And that’s one easy win bagged in.
