Going to be a long and interesting post, but I wanted to say how I think my OC Echo would be like with my Mutuals GOTG OC's, starting off with Magril by @rxin3akamallory

I already explored this a little bit with that short interaction I wrote, but honestly I could see Echo looking up to Magril like a mentor or parental figure, he would definitely need one and I doubt he would listen to anyone except her and maybe Kraglin. Maybe she feels the same, maybe not, but either way Echo would probably always take her advice to heart like a child would their parents.

Up next is Star by @cleo-is-babygirl

Echo would probably treat Star like a sister honestly, if she asked for it he would do it unconditionally, whether it be a piggyback ride, or to steal some cookies for her, he would do it for her, probably convince him to mess with Rocket a little bit, as long as neither get hurt of course. This brother-sister dynamic probably leads to each of them being defensive of the other in various situations, always willing to back each other up whether it be from a threat to their lives or just some jackass, they'll help each other.

Up next is Akira by @bakaotakulife

Honestly I'm not really certain how Echo would get along with Akira, I mean he would certainly try after a while and maybe he asks her to teach him some fighting skills, but I think Echo would just see her as a training partner/coach for most of the time, maybe occasionally discussing their problems. They do eventually reach the point of being friends, but I see this more as an issue with Echo having a hard time trying to find something to bond about, or being too shy to talk about his interests to her.

Lastly, Dr. Meti Geer by @quietanarchist before I start this one I will say to my other mutuals Meti Geer is a bit of an, interesting person, and innuendos are commonplace in his vocabulary so take that in mind for this.

Echo would be much older by this point, and I imagine Echo wouldn't have met his fellow experiments in this reality, so he probably stumbles upon Meti and Rocket on Knowhere after the first story. Echo probably has Meti help him navigate his own personal issues with his identity and possibly relationship advice, meanwhile Echo would probably act as Meti's personal bodyguard when Rocket isn't around, though they probably spend more time talking about dresses. Echo probably at first has to remind Meti the innuendos make him uncomfortable, and it takes a while before Meti 100% can control his vocabulary around him.

More "Rocky Raccoon & The Knowhere Man" Headcannons

I'm sorry. I was really being honest when I said I love this stuff. <3 So uh, let's do some headcannons on this older "Dad" Rocket in my series. Little stuff I've kept in mind while writing him as someone who's older and... Well, maybe not wiser, but more experienced.

Has a total sweet tooth, especially for marshmallows. This comes from him not drinking much, and the phenomena of ex-alcoholics tending to have a sweet tooth and raccoons loving marshmallows

He can understand more raccoon than speak it. His vocal cords were messed with, making his vocalizations sound a bit strange to the other raccoons around him. They still regard him as a very large, slightly strange kit.

He meets with Drax and Nebula a few times a week for lunch or just to vent

At this point he's had multiple surgeries to replace the old metal in his body. Each surgery took place on Wakanda, and he got to know the surgical team pretty well

He's taught a few classes here and there at Drax's school. Mostly mechanics and the like. He's surprised at how well he's received as a teacher, and he has a Gordon Ramsay approach to it; if you're really trying, he'll be patient. Negligent idiot, though? He *will* roast you like you're a fresh cob of corn

The chore he minds the least in his apartment is the dishes. His least favorite is dusting, which stinks on account of he and Meti have a lot of decor and collectibles around the house. He also is the type to pull out clothes directly from the dryer and just wear them.

He's amassed a large collection of CDs, records, cassettes, and players.

He'll collaborate to make prosthetics for Meti's patients sometimes. This actually helped eased his fears that he might not have a job to do other than being a Guardian.

He loves hanging out on Earth with Peter, Owen (Peter's boyfriend), and Peter's family. Owen being a country boy at heart, he's taken Meti and Rocket out to do things like fishing, off roading, and the like.

Peter took Meti and Rocket to their first comic book convention! Peter also got to explain to Meti and Rocket what furries were! They were a little thrown, a little confused, but ultimately kind of flattered, and ended up taking a lot of photos with them. :')

He likes "Dad" shows. He's through half of "Yellowstone" and can't decide if he likes it or not.

He's gotten more into his artistic side with having his own space to fully decorate. This is why his and Meti's home looks like a kitsch dream. He knows he won't be judged in the comfort of his own home.

He likes leaning into some of his more natural instincts in his home. This includes running on all fours (it feels so good on his back!), dipping his food in water, and climbing.

Speaking of his apartment, he's built a total of seventeen separate hiding/escape hatches throughout it. Meti's found about fifteen.

He is building a ship in his basement workshop, but he doesn't have a damned clue how he's going to get it out of there. Oh well, that's a problem for another day.

Headcannons and Behind the Scenes -- Princess Linx!

Our favorite Felisian princess! Some headcannons, facts, and other behind-the-scenes goodies

* She's actually a canon character! She appeared in a free comic book day comic. Her name was spelled "Lynx" here, though, and she was.... Quite different:

Yeahhhh. She had good bones! And I figured she could be fun to play around with. She isn't so much a "warrior princess" as a princess who knows she has a good life, and wants to make other lives good as a result.

* Who's the baby? That's something for later, let's focus on the present yeah?

* Her voice was always Natasha Lyonne. The was no shuffling on that. It helped the rest of her personality come into play.

* Why the name change? I liked it better.

* She's s STEM gal at heart. Loves science, math, engineering. She doesn't get to play around with it much though because she's first in line for the throne. So she grew up being trained in politics, communication, and conflict resolution.

* Her culture is polyamorous! She grew up with eight mothers and her father. Her biological mother died in childbirth. Her favorite of her stepmoms is a nuclear physicist.

* All of her moms are brilliant in their own rights, from lawyers, to doctors, to educators.

* The birth rate on Felis is fairly low, so she doesn't have as many siblings as you'd expect

* Mimosas are an all the time food <3

* She's yellow-blue colorblind!

* Loves partying, clubs, and dancing

* All the same she can turn on the socialite charm. This duality is based on my, no lie, very real respect for Paris Hilton.

* She also fell for Rocket at first sight. She still loves him to this day, but understands he's happy. So she loves having him as a friend!

* How's he feel about her? Well... 👀

* Meti is basically one of her best friends now. After the initial envy, they see her as someone with impeccable taste. They have phone calls several times a week.

* I included her as another catlike alien because a lot of times you see ONE species of aliens meant to represent cats, ONE for sharks, etc.. She's meant to show that there's more than one way to draw a cat!

* Her dad loves her but worries for her. He's a LOT more chill after his heart attack.

* Does she ever find love for herself? Well. 👀

* She went on several dates with Peter, who introduced her to things like Waffle House and off-roading. He couldn't make the distance work and also she scared him a smidgen. They still consider one another close friends.

* Is she into girls? Not really. Would she kiss Mantis since she's also kissed Meti and Peter at this point? She wouldn't say *no*.

* She keeps a very, very messy room and ship.

* A bit bored at the current moment. Maybe there's a career change in the air in her future.

Hi!! Oh my goodness, thank you! I can put the ladies' ones here but if you or anyone are curious about more, I'm happy to answer!!!

Farina

- Loves some of the traditionally "less cute" animals the clinic gets in. Rats? Precious. Bats? So cool, they're rats that can FLY. That sharp-toothed thing with the fur? Would TOTALLY adopt if she could

- A little more of a quiet kid who read animal facts, facts about the universe. Got embarrassed for info dumping more than once, so stopped talking about it. One of the things she appreciates most about Nebula is that Nebula is a good listener to her, and can tell her surprisingly gently when they need to switch topics

- Also a bit of a star geek. Used to watch them from the balcony of her home when she was a kid. Also did this when she was with a bad ex and needed to get away for a bit.

- Unfortunately there's been more than one bad ex. She's learned to assert herself better though, and having her wife and the nursing staff there to back her up has been a huge help in this.

- She lets Nebula braid her hair! Nebula likes the novelty of it, and Farina likes the attention.

- Gamora still doesn't quiet get how jet dynamic works with Nebula, but loves the genuine smile Nebula has when she's with Farina.

- Really big on making sure Nebula feels included in things, and respects when she doesn't want to do something.

- Very much the "I'm not angry, just disappointed" type if fighting with Nebula. Nebula had one old-school tantrum during an argument between them, once, saw how shaken it left Farina, and vowed to be better after that. And she was.

- They've done more than one vacation to theme parks together. Everyone thinks it's Farina pulling Nebula along, but it's quite the opposite. Farina is a little more of a homebody, but loves her wife getting to experience the childhood she SHOULD have had. She's been terrified of every roller coaster she's ever been on, but her wife's maniacal laughter is just SO flipping cute.

- Big into pop music. Would play Harry Styles all day if she could.

- Identifies as a lesbian! She knew in grade school when she'd get WAY too emotional about friendships.

Now time for some Laroshi ones!

- The mom friend from a young age. Hosa and Meti were such airheads, somebody had to stop them from falling off a cliff. 🙄

- Loves numbers because they make sense! Whether it's cooking, working on alloy materials from her forge, or money, she's quite good with it all. She never really had an opportunity to spread her math wings on Fauntera, but can on Knowhere. Is the accountant for the Guardians.

- Has gotten them enough extra money they were due over the years that combined it could have bought another Knowhere.

- Comes from a large family. She had seven siblings, all who reached adulthood, got married, and had children of their own. This stung a little bit as she always wanted to be a mom and wife. It just didn't happen, though.

- Unable to have children biologically due to an illness she contracted on Fauntera during the uprising. This is why she was unable to reunite with Meti initially.

- Meti quietly offered to give her the money to have a baby like how he had Skye, and to pull strings to get her to the front of the lind. She would have taken him up on this, but she and Kraglin were too far apart genetically to have one together, so it just wasn't worth it to her. Her prayers were still answered, though, with Benji.

- She helped give Benji a Spider-Man-themed bar mitzvah without knowing what a bar mitzvah was or what a Spider-Man was.

- Practiced calling herself "Laroshi Geer" way too much as a kid. Would have had binders with their initials in hearts if she could have.

- Marrying Kraglin is literally the first spontaneous thing she's done in her life. She immediately fell for his kindness. She also loves that he isn't as proper as she felt she had to make herself be in order to help guide and protect her people, or to find a spouse.

- Loves going to bars with him. He gets her to loosen up like she's always wanted to, but never knew where to start.

- She, in turn, respects him from the get-go. He's never had to prove himself to her.

- She collaborates with Rocket a lot on creating things! She created all his mobility aides during his surgeries, so that they'd be portable for him, and has helped him mod some weapons.

- Loves jewelry making for herself. Kraglin brings her gems from planets, she turns it into bracelets, necklaces, etc for herself. Her favorite is a necklace with a gem that matches his eyes, and she wears this a lot when he's on missions.

- Big into punk rock.

- Is the neighborhood mom now. If there's a kid who needs something, they know they can go to her forge and she'll try to help.

- Learned English for her adopted son. It wasn't easy, but she loves Benji that much.

- She loves making knickknacks for the house. Yondu would have taken a shine to her.

- Intensely proud of her husband. Faunterians can be a little bit of a haughty bunch, so she brags about him a LOT. Kraglin doesn't get it, but he also doesn't mind.

- They don't get in blowup fights, but he knows she's annoyed with him if dinner is cold. She knows he's upset with her if he seems quieter and mutters about needing to look at something around the house.

- Has an iffy understanding of genders and sexualities, but is incredibly supportive. Most likely identifies as cis and hetero.

- Some of their favorite things to do as a couple is visit the beach, go to the farmers market, and making upgrades to their weapons. Ya know. Couples things!

I got out of an emotionally exhausting and creatively draining relationship and I've been celebrating by writing a queer Rocket Raccoon fanfic

Just like the title says! I was in an exhausting relationship that took me away from a lot of things I liked. Once I was out of it, I decided to write my first fanfic in years. I was already a huge "Guardians of the Galaxy" fan, and seeing the third movie lit a fire under me to get to writing again. And boy have I been writing! I'm on Part 2 currently, and it can be found here on AO3:

So what's it about? A few months after taking over as captain of the Guardians, Rocket's team is worried he's spreading himself a little too thin and working a little too hard to do right by them. So he's given some time off. At the same time, Nebula brings in a doctor from a university to help with creating some spaces for all of the new creatures on Knowhere, starting with a park preserve. His name is Dr. Meti Geer. He looks like a cat (but isn't a cat), has a strange connection with plants (but maybe isn't a plant?), has a special interest in Terran plants and animals, and a very obvious crush on a flustered Rocket. And of course, Rocket's family, including Nebula, Drax, and Quill, are all there to help in their own (sometimes useful, sometimes not) way as Rocket starts to think he might be reciprocating the crush.

Meti's presence opens Rocket up to new ideas, about himself and love, but there's also maybe something a little off in it all. Where's Meti from, and why has he never been to Earth, despite his love of everything on it?

I love making playlists for my stories, and Guardians is perfect for it, and you can find them sprinkled throughout, as well as some illustrations (like the one above :D of Rocket and the good doctor!).

I'm having the time of my life getting back to things like this. If you like Guardians fanfics, and want to read this, I hope you have even a fraction of the fun reading it that I'm having writing it (although I certainly hope it's more than that!).

Character Headcannons/Breakdown - Rook Raccoon

Okay, I'll be the first to admit this gets a little sad in some parts. I was going through it when I wrote this, what can I say?

* Her first name is supposed to invoke the chess piece. It's because she's basically used like little more than a game piece by Pyko and Gideon.

* Her last name is an homage to my dad's last name. He died unexpectedly while I was writing "Stand By Me", so I made her last name sound like his. Her taking Rocket’s last name at the end was a quiet way of me saying goodbye to him.

* She represents "found family" gone toxic. Each of the stories I do in this series is about love. "Flowers" is romantic love. "Star-Man" is the love that comes with loss. "Stand By Me" is about love and family. The Guardians are one of the best examples of found family that's done well in MCU, so I wanted to show what the inverse of that was.

* The school she goes to, Gideon university, is based off predatory colleges that were rampant during my college years. I had a friend over 150k in debt to a game design school with these practices.

* She's a sharklike alien because I really like sharks, you guys. Also I love Guillermo del Toro films, like most self-respecting weirdos and oddballs, and I think "The Shape of Water" is one of the finest love stories I've ever seen.... The more I examine my interests the less shocked I am that I ended up where I did.

* She's aro ace! The more I realized "oh. This isn't a one-off fanfic, this is going to be a personality trait of mine now" the more I wanted to be mindful of different representations. I also have a very longtime friend who is aro ace, and she keeps me really in touch with the fact there isn't a lot of rep out there. So it's a love letter to her as well.

* She's a professional V-tuber who goes under the name "Catfish".

* She's more of the software side of tech, whereas Rocket seems to favor hardware. I figured this would differentiate her skillset just enough that she'd be able to stand out as a unique character without too much overlapping skillsets from existing characters. This is something I try to be mindful of as well when creating OCs.

* Groot is one of her best friends and they do a lot of gaming together.

* Rocket DMs a game with them and a few of the other Guardians in it.

* She loves going all-in for holidays because her parents never really did.

* Her culture as a whole is very cold and very "get it yourself" from a VERY young age. Eggs take five years total to hatch and if the hatchlings struggle to get out of the egg, it's considered a sign that they aren't strong enough to survive in the outside world.

* There's a time where this would have been very relevant on their world, but modern progress has made this point moot. The harsh conditions of Icathia no longer exist, but the world has been slow to change from its harhness. Needing to rely on others is still seen as a moral failing.

* A lot of this culture comes from me remembering stories about friends getting kicked out at eighteen and being very, very angry that I was also eighteen at the time and couldn't do much to help them. Rook was my little way of being like "I'm sorry I couldn't do more to protect you. I was a kid too." I also saw a "fun craft idea" that was a "countdown" to when a kid turned 18 and would get kicked out of the house and if that didn't give me the BIGGEST anxiety attack to look at.

* Meti's first time going to jail was for Rook. He and Rocket were both arrested for brawling with her biological parents. <3

* Mara, her daughter, struggled to break out of her egg. Rook didn't think twice about helping her break out of it. She was going to break the cycle she came from

* It took her a LONG time to realize her parents and family loved her unconditionally. When she became a mother, it helped things really click for her

* She has Caldon's equivalent of a Masters in software engineering.

* Some of her favorite Earth music are things like City Pop and Future Funk. Also a huge Vocaloid fan

* Loves the beach and the water. If she isn't working she can be found hanging out by one of the ponds at the nature preserve

* She still struggles with her anxiety a LOT, but she's working towards getting better. She still didn't sleep for three days when Mara started school.

* She loves hanging out with Skye and helping her with some of her creative pursuits. This can include things like wiring LED lighting for costumes Skye makes.

* She lives in the apartment next door to Rocket and Meti. She makes enough for her own place, but she just loves being close to her family
