—-   𝖓𝖔   𝖔𝖓𝖊   𝖊𝖑𝖘𝖊   𝖋𝖊𝖊𝖑𝖘   𝖙𝖍𝖆𝖙   𝖜𝖆𝖞   𝖈𝖊𝖗𝖙𝖆𝖎𝖓𝖑𝖞.   not   since   he’s   lead   the   deatheaters   to   her   doorstep.   every   day   is   a   new   battle.   teaching   the   family   how   to   survive   in   ways   they   never   could   have   imagined.   it   is   a   constant   onslaught   of   questioning   from   both   the   family   and   himself.   the   only   constant   he   has   is   his   sybil.   his   anchor   in   all   of   this,   reminding   him   what   he   is   fighting   for   and   why   he   is   here.   he   is   here   because   he   loves   her   like   he   has   never   loved   before.   he   is   fighting   because   she   has   inspired   him   to   unlearn   all   of   the   hatred   he   was   brought   up   with.   fighting   the   deatheaters   now   with   her   by   his   side   is   like   killing   the   man   he   used   to   be.   it   is   rejuvenating   really.   he   finds   weights   he   never   knew   existed   being   lifted   off   with   each   step   forward   they   take.

it   has   been   difficult   to   leave   downton,   but   they   remind   themselves   daily   it   is   not   permanent.   soon,   they   will   reclaim   their   home.the   large   tent   is   comfortable   enough,   and   he   is   happy   it   seems   to   give   them   much   more   privacy   than   the   abbey.   no   prying   eyes   with   this   war.   they   find   themselves   on   watch   together   a   lot   of   the   time.   it   is   the   only   chance   they   have   to   really   talk   these   days.   “   it   is   not   often   i   hear   that   sentiment,   but   i   thank   you   nonetheless,   “   looking   out   into   the   vast   country   fields   and   the   sky   littered   in   stars,   he   feels   comfortable   enough   to   look   to   her.   the   fire   lights   her   face   just   enough   where   he   can   see   the   comforting   glimmer   in   her   eyes.   “   i   am   used   to   people   cowering   before   me   instead   of   running   to   hug   me   like   you   do.   it   is   a   welcome   change.   “

—-   𝖍𝖊   𝖗𝖊𝖆𝖑𝖑𝖞   𝖈𝖆𝖓𝖓𝖔𝖙   𝖙𝖆𝖐𝖊   𝖆𝖓𝖞   𝖔𝖋   𝖙𝖍𝖎𝖘   𝖙𝖊𝖆𝖘𝖎𝖓𝖌.   ring   adorned   fingers   press   against   his   temple,   staring   down   at   the   mahogany   desk.   he’s   worked   months   on   this   time   turner.   its   the   only   thing   in   this   moment   that   he   has   to   focus   on   other   than   the   rather   messy   divorce.   he   supposes   she   is   right   in   a   way.   of   course,   both   he   and   draco   are   obsessed   with   the   past.   the   only   difference   is   draco   has   been   able   to   learn   from   it,   whilst   lucius   seems   to   constantly   be   going   in   circles   and   unable   to   stop.   this   is   why   he   is   designing   this   time   turner.   perhaps,   instead   of   viewing   the   past   as   his   enemy,   he   could   use   it   to   his   advantage.   stop   the   pain   before   it   happens.   and   the   only   way   he   can   do   that   is   by   saving   his   mother.   from   what   he   knows   with   the   limited   information   he   has   gathered   throughout   his   life,    she   could   have   ended   the   cycle.   stop   the   affiliation   with   the   dark   lord   and   focus   their   efforts   elsewhere.   she   seemed   to   be   good,   at   least   on   the   surface.   either   way,   she   was   much   better   than   abraxas   malfoy.
