One of my long time friends asked on FB how many people portray a perfect life on [social media] but have things going on that they don't share. My honest answer was that there are a whole lot of things that I don't talk about on FB or other social media. Why? Because it's fodder for the haters. Why give them ammo? But, I AM honest about struggles and bad days, etc. I just don't divulge more personal matters or their details. There are many things the rest of the world, outside of my inner circle who are my trusted tribe and who pray for and over me, don't need to know. Here's the thing, so many people compare their lives to the lives of others they see on social media. They are comparing their own behind the scenes to someone else's highlight reels. There are those who only want to portray the perfect life to others. That's not realistic. We all know that. Chances are their behind the scenes footage is more tangled than yours. So stop basing your life on someone else's lifestyle, relationships and success that may not even be true! Comparison, after all, is the thief of joy! Social media is training us to compare our lives instead of appreciating what we have and everything that we are. It has created jealousy over things that don't actually exist in reality. No wonder so many people are depressed! I don't broadcast every high but I don't hide every low either. I'm trying to live life, not convince the world that I have a life. But, I know that what I'm going through and the words I write encourage others and lets them see that they are not alone, or gives them that push they need in their own lives to move forward. I don't want to be the reason someone feels insecure. I want to be the reason they feel seen, heard, supported, encouraged and hopeful. So you do you, baby, and don't worry about what someone else is doing. You have no way of knowing how real or fake their lives actually are. #CanWeTalk #StopComparingYourselfToOthers #ComparisonIsTheThiefOfJoy #YouDoYou #DontGiveHatersAmmo #Encourage #LiveLife #LiveALifeYouWontRegret #EverythingYouDoMatters #RememberWhatsImportant #SocialMedia #TruthTalk #BeHonest #RealTalk #MomTalk #SingleMom #SingleMomLife https://www.instagram.com/p/CcWV3rOFKPZ/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=
