📖 OPEN BOOK - do they like reading? what's their favourite genre?
Faiolan loves reading, and has ever since he was a boy. He adores fantasy epics, novels about adventure, noble knights and dashing heroes, folks going on quests to save the world from the brink of destruction, and all that jazz. But, between you and me, there is another genre that he enjoys as a sort of guilty pleasure... bad romance novels, which he'll be the first to admit are awful, but still. Though I don't have an equivalent in mind for Eorzea, I'd reference the works of Dragon Age's Varic Tethras, most notably 'Swords & Shields'. Just a smutty bit of nonsense to stimulate the imagination! Special mention to Encyclopedias, which Faiolan HAD to read as a kid due to his father's insistence on an all encompassing education. He loves reading about other cultures and their histories, and in another life perhaps would have been a scholar rather than a knight.
Thanks for the ask, @rokachan!

Stories you want to write...
...but for some reason haven’t yet
tagged by both @autumnslance and @msviolacea and I haven’t done one of these in a long-ass time soooooo let’s do it.
1.) The Vacation Fic AKA Aymeric and Synnove get locked/thrown out of their offices by their friends and they take a week to themselves at the Bloodshore cabin. Set between Patch 3.3 and 3.4. Fluff, worldbuilding, food porn, little bit of smut. Problem is, this thing is basically a chaptered fic--at least five--and I’m fucking bad at that. I suspect this is something I’d need to write the entirety of in advance so it doesn’t languish in Unfinished Fic hell, but fuck it’s a big project and getting the energy for it is going to be hard. One day, though, I got to all the other projects at some point.
2.) Post-Grand Melee Victory Sexing Fic. Well, more like finish, but its contents are written all over the place. This one needs a proper contextual build up, though, as well as discussion by Aymeric and Synnove about consent and boundaries and also birth control because this is the fic where they first have sex with one another and I am not skimping out on any of those things. Like, yeah, it’s shamelessly smutty but it’s way more than just smut and tbh I’m weirdly protective of this concept and I suspect that’s part of my block on writing this because despite the WIP title, the smut’s not as important to me as the relationship.
3.) I should. Like. Figure out what the fuck Eydis has been doing the past twenty years. She’s the only member of the Greywolfe family where I just have this huge blank spot on what the fuck’s been going on with her. Part of the problem I think is that because Synnove gets the lion’s share of attention of all my FFXIV OC’s, and there’s a...*consults notes* thirteen year age difference between Synnove and Eydis and they were never close, that what’s gone on with Eydis isn’t actually important to Synnove’s story.
3a.) Synnove brings the portrait of her Uncle Tyr and Aunt Angharad back to Ul’dah for Auntie and Eydis is there and they have a big family cry. Honestly I had forgotten that idea until just now, thank you, meme thing.
4.) Hilda/Lucia. I recall a joking reference in a meme response I did about a Squad bar crawl with Hilda and picking up Lucia and then later during the crawl Lucia and Hilda furiously making out and that’s been quietly stewing in the back of mind ever since I wrote that. I. I don’t think that’s actually how they got together in the Squad verse? *pondering*
5.) Some sort of confrontation during Werlyt as a Lupicide followup because honestly I’m basically ignoring the enormous elephant in the room of “Synnove Greywolfe and Gaius Baelsar having to work together however grudgingly.” That said, I...don’t like how the Werlyt storyline is handling Gaius and his reactions (or, lack of reactions, really...) or other people’s reactions/the lack thereof to what the shit is happening with that sidequest, and I know very well I’m not fair when I write characters I don’t like or have complicated-but-leaning-towards-negative feelings about. So I would very much like to write something compelling and complex but won’t because it’s not gonna end up that way. (I’ve actually had to flatout stop reading fic with Gaius in it, because I feel his portrayal and motivations are handled better there, and it’s making me dislike the canon version even more.)
6.) More carbuncle shenanigans but that’s a given.
7.) Mistwrought ‘verse stuff, but I’ve recognized the setting works better as a TTRPG thing rather than something for novels or short stories unless a miracle happens and suddenly there’s Plot for this original ‘verse of mine and no just interconnected Eldritch Shenanigans.
Okay, tagging, uhhhhhhhh @tehjai (feel free to answer this on the Tiona sideblog if that fits better), @victhespookygoat (same deal for you, Vic!), @ravenclawnerd (we are currently not hanging in the same fandom circles atm but who cares), @to-the-voiceless, @ahlis-xiv, @starsandauras, @stars-bleed-hearts-shine, @goblin-alchemist, @ginger-nightmist, and whomever else would like to do this and hasn’t yet!
