In today's video, I'm diving into the creative zone and painting a water turtle making its way towards you. I've got a time lapse where you can catch me bringing that turtle head to life. But hold up, we're not just about the paint vibes – we're spicing things up with some mesmerizing images of those fiery Flame Trees in Mauritius. It's like a tropical art escape meets underwater masterpiece! The Flamboyant tree (Delonix regia) is a fascinating species of tree that has a rich history and cultural significance in many parts of the world. Here are some interesting facts about the tree:    • The Flamboyant tree is like the rockstar of trees, going by names like Royal Poinciana, Peacock Flower, and Flame of the Forest. It's basically the celebrity of the tree world!    • In Mauritius, they call the Flamboyant tree the "Bonus Tree" or "Pie Bonis" because it shows off its blossoms right when people are getting their end-of-year bonus. It's like nature celebrating payday!    • So, this cool tree originally hailed from Madagascar, and in the 19th century, it went on a world tour, hitting up spots like Mauritius and other places. It's like the globetrotter of the tree family!    • Listen to this: the Flamboyant tree is like the ultimate deciduous tree, reaching up to 12 meters tall with this incredible wide crown. And get this, peeps use those flowers in old-school medicine for stuff like sorting out respiratory issues, beating fever, and tackling inflammation. Nature's medicine cabinet at its coolest!    • No kidding, the Flamboyant tree isn't just a tree; it's like the superhero of traditional African medicine! They use it to deal with skin infections. It's basically the tree version of a skincare guru!    • The Flamboyant tree isn't just about looks; it's like the rockstar of wood. They use it to craft furniture, musical instruments, and all sorts of cool decorations.    • The flowering of the Flamboyant trees happens in November and ends at the beginning of January. That is why Mauritians name it the yearly bouquet.    • In Mauritius, the Flamboyant tree is like a legend in their stories. It's the summer hype announcer and signals the start of a fresh new year. It's basically the tree version of a summer and new year's party invite!    • if you're on the lookout for those Insta-worthy Flamboyant trees in Mauritius, they're basically the real celebrities in Mauritius! You'll find them all over the place, but for the best pics, head to spots like Cap Malheureux, Mont-Choisy, Médine, Labourdonnais, Le Goulet, Belle Mare, Bel Ombre, Terre Rouge, Daruty, and Marie Reine de la Paix. It's like the ultimate tree photoshoot spots! These Flamboyant trees were photographed at Mont Choisy and La Croisette Mall You can see me painting this green sea turtle. And here is some interesting facts about this turtle I am painting! Meet the Green sea turtle – these bad boys are giants, weighing in at 65-130kg and stretching up to 1-1.2m long! Picture a teardrop-shaped shell, or 'carapace,' that's their superhero cape, except it leaves their head and flippers out to shine. Now, here's the funky part – they've got this green fat under their shell, and it's not just for show. Scientists think it's because they're on a plant-based diet, munching on marine veggies like seaweed and sea grass. These rockstar turtles aren't picky about where they breed; you can catch them nesting in over 80 countries. When it's time to hit the waves, these turtles are like Aquaman's cousins, rocking strong paddle-like flippers and cruising at a chill 3km/h. But watch out – if trouble comes their way, they can turn on the jets and hit speeds up to 35km/h! Love is in the air when it's mating time – going down in shallow waters like a turtle love paradise. Ah right, let's know a little something about Arleta's linage otherwise known as the House of Delonix, the Dreadful Beast of Vermilia

Ranir Asfrin Delonix,the current head of the Delonix House at the time and Arleta's father. He's a ruthless man and is very loyal to the Vermilia Imperial Family

Delonix House has been serving the Empire since its foundation,they hide in the dark and commit the impure work for the Empire.

This is something nearly no one in the Empire know about the secretive and corrupted things they did for the Imperial Family, only a special few know about their true existence

On the outside, Delonix House is just a prestigious noble clan that produces Knight

Ranir loved his daughter very much for she is the only daughter he has and she resembled his late wife,the only woman he ever loved

Ranir knew that his daughter was pure, innocent and easily to manipulate. He tried his best to protect her.

But because of his work,he was too late to stop the tragedy befallen on Arleta. He felt awfully guilty about it, he felt like he has broken the vow he made with his deceased wife. The vow to protect their children

So Ranir was willing to grant whatever Arleta wanted as a way to make amends for what he did

Arleta was the only daughter of the Delonix House at the time. She was the Precious Lady of the Delonix House

If Arleta wanted something, she just need to ask her dear father and say please. He'll grant it even if it involved murder

Now you know why Aish was poisoned

One day, the Crown Prince of Vermilia Wanlis the V offered the Delonix's only daughter the position of Empress. In return, she'll offer him power to extinguish the people who were planning treason against him and the siblings who are trying to eliminate him. The traitors that supported his brother

Of course with the Delonix help the Prince would surely succeeded the throne without fail and Arleta would get the position of the most powerful woman in the Empire.

Arleta doesn't care about love anymore, power was something more interesting to her now

Sarah was a shameless woman, she did all kinds of awful stuff to Arleta and she still has the gut to try to be friends with Arleta again

Arleta is no fool

She's not kind, loving girl she was. But she's now a despicable and meticulous Lady

The soon-to-be Empress of Vermilia Empire

The moment Arleta is announced the Crown Princess and soon-to-be Empress of Vermilia is something Sarah found awfully unexpected even in her dreams

Several months passed, Wanlis the V successfully succeeded the throne and immediately a Royal Wedding was celebrated.

That day is when Arletalis Syliva Delonix is wedded to the Emperor of Vermilia and officially becoming the Empress of Vermilia, officially taking the last name Scarlett

After becoming Empress, Arleta helped her husband to find and eradicate the traitors and luck has it, Sarah was one of them

Before Sarah's execution,she visited her in the dungeon, feigning sadness for not being able to help her dear "friend" this time. How unfortunate, Arleta can't be friends with her husband's enemy

I found out Bocchi The Rock is on Netflix now, so of course I started rewatching it for the nth time. I dunno if it’s the slight differences in translation or what, but during this rewatch I’ve been noticing a whole lot more just how warm and sweet Bocchi and Nijika’s interactions are.

And come to think of it, if we view the show from Nijika’s perspective... She’s been a fan of Guitar Hero for a while. She watches her videos. She’s subscribed with notifications on. She wishes she could play with Guitar Hero.

Then she meets Bocchi, who despite her crippling social anxiety, steps up again and again whenever the band is in a pinch. She fills in for that first live then stays on as the band’s lead guitar. She brings back Kita-chan and helps facilitate a reconcilliation. When things got so discouraging in their second live that even Nijika’s own optimisim and cheerfulness started to break, Bocchi is the one who helped everyone push through.

And in that same live, Nijika realized that Bocchi and Guitar Hero is the same person. Her wish to play music with Guitar Hero had not only just come true, but it has been a part of her everyday life for months.

Bocchi has already made one of Nijika’s dreams happen, so it isn’t too farfetched that together, with the whole Kessoku Band, their bigger dreams are within reach.

Polykessoku Headcanons (part 2?)

(first Polykessoku Headcanons post)

i needed a break from all the coding (i’m working on a Bocchi fan game), so im back to dumping headcanons and tropes on our favorite Kessoku Band

here’s some college era headcanons

Nijika and Kita-chan attend university (maybe different uni, maybe same, idk) while still managing their band practice and duties.

Bocchi achieved her dream of living off music, between Guitar Hero ad revenue and royalties from Kessoku Band’s albums (mild manga spoilers: a label had found interest in their music, so i imagine things kept snowballing from there)

Ryou also decided to live off making music, between Kessoku Band and royalty free music/sfx on various websites.

At some point, they all decided to live together. Maybe an apartment close to Nijika’s and Kita-chan’s campuses? And if it’s with the band, Bocchi wouldn’t have to deal with strangers.

Ryou wasn’t in on the plan initially, not until Nijika was sure she could trust Ryou to be responsible with money. But even when Kita-chan, Bocchi, and Nijika started living together, Nijika keeps randomly dropping by Ryou’s bedroom

(She just doesn’t want to admit she misses Ryou, okay?)

To help distract each other from their splurging-on-music-gear tendencies, Ryou and Bocchi experiment with non-music hobbies while Kita-chan and Nijika are at school or work.

The two idiots still end up spending a lot of money on their non-music experiments anyway xD

They stick with cooking/baking though, since they can’t expect Nijika to cook all the time with her already packed schedule.

(a bit of a sidebar: Ryou’s cooking has better flavor, but Bocchi is better at plating and presentation. Mostly because Ryou doesn’t bother and just scoops the food however which way onto the plate.)

Speaking of Nijika, she works on campus mostly for convenience. But sometimes she still works at Starry when she has time. She doesn’t have to work to visit her onee-chan, but she loves Starry too much to not work and interact with the customers there.

Meanwhile, Kita-chan does a lot of odd jobs for part-time work. She says it’s because she enjoys meeting and helping a lot of people. But maybe deep down, a subconscious part of her is still searching for that special talent she lacks.

At some point, Bocchi finds out about all this and points out that she’s not lacking anything, and that the bland ordinary life she fears is very different from her current everyday life. C’mon Kita-chan, you have 3 wonderful girlfriends who love and adore you!

also i just realized i didn’t get into these pairs when i talked about dating headcanons last time, so here you go

Kita-chan and Ryou have a lot to work through to get to a place where they’d date each other. But even when they do start dating, Ryou still enjoys messing with Ikuyo and, honestly, Kita-chan also enjoys it when Ryou does things to her. They can have a very mutually beneficial S and M dynamic. I think they’re very likely to explore kinky stuff more than the others. (I will say tho, I think Ryou and Nijika tried experimenting with this stuff before, but it’s a very very different dynamic)

On the other hand, Nijika would likely take Bocchi to some chill and lowkey places, like maybe a quiet cafe or a public library. She wants Bocchi to be comfortable and relaxed, but also gently nudge her into opening up more. Eventually, Bocchi does open up and their dates have a lot of heart-to-heart talks and getting to know each other’s thoughts and feelings on a deeper level.

Tangentially related, but i’m headcanoning so hard that “Hitoribocchi Tokyo” is a song Bocchi wrote about Nijika. Meeting Nijika is the catalyst for Bocchi to feel less lonely, to see Tokyo as a kinder place. Also also, the lines “Hey, um! What’s up? / There’s a dream I can’t talk about / But, one day, if you were to ask / Then maybe if it’s you...” is so reminiscent of their heart-to-heart in front of the vending machine, and then later at the after party.

Polykessoku Headcanons

look man, this is just me dumping my favorite tropes on Kessoku Band because i don’t have the strength or energy to write a proper fic right now. your mileage may vary and read with care.

a few headcanons for s1 era:

Kita-chan was already aware of Bocchi since the start of the school year, way before she found out Bocchi plays guitar, her curiosity slowly burning until Bocchi’s attempt to talk to her broke the ice.

Nijika and Ryo have an on-and-off-romantic-chicken thing going on in the background for years, where they’ll flirt (or react as if being flirted with) but the first one who gives in and kisses the other loses.

the following stuff is way down the line, where Kessoku Band is more established and our girls have known each other for much much longer:

Nijika is the first one who realizes she has feelings for multiple people, when she realizes she likes Bocchi and Kita-chan, on top of whatever she has going with Ryo. She’s also the first one who brings up her feelings for their bandmates with Ryo, and Ryo’s pretty chill cuz the two of them were never official nor exclusive and Nijika’s well aware of the random flings and what-not Ryo finds herself in. (also, imagine these two going on research binges when they first started exploring the idea of polyamory. Nijika is a smart hardworker and Ryo hyperfocuses.)

Kita-chan has never heard of polyamory and at one point she was heavily agonizing over her feelings for both Bocchi and Ryo. Once she musters up the courage to talk about it with a separate party, she brings it up with Nijika, who is like “You don’t have to choose between them.” and introduces Kita-chan to a whole new world.

At some point, the three of them (Nijika, Ryo, Kita-chan) come to an agreement that they will not do anything that would make things official with anyone until they’re all sure how Bocchi feels (and they all hope Bocchi is also open to the idea of all of them dating each other). Romantic Chicken has expanded to Kita-chan lol. She’s torn between regret and elation because Ryo and Nijika are especially merciless when they tag team flirting with Kita-chan, but teaming with either of them to flirt with the other is a thrill and joy like no other.

Like Kita-chan, Bocchi has also never heard of polyamory and is actually deeply in denial of her feelings for any of them, dismissing her bandmates’s flirting and skinship as just something close friends do... or worse, as something bands do for fanservice (”band gals being pals”).

The denial dam breaks when at one of their major liveshows, Kita-chan pulls off an amazing improv solo to buy time for Bocchi to fix some technical issue before her guitar solo part. It was just like in their very first Cultural Festival performance, but on a grander scale. The guitar solo turned into something like a duet, with the two of them improvising riffs and fills between them. Bocchi is so overwhelmed with so many different feelings and they’re all directed at Kita-chan, so in a spur of the moment, she actually leans in and kisses Kita-chan as they ended the solo.

Of course, poor Kita-chan wasn’t expecting a kiss, so she froze for a few seconds and missed her cue to sing the next stanza. Good thing Ryo is fast on the uptake and sings a few lines as lead until Kita-chan could sing again and Ryo could go back to singing backup vocals.

ok i’m tired and i need to sleep, but please enjoy a few random headcanons regarding dates before i go:

Bocchi feels comfortable in silence with Ryo and would be very down to hang out one-on-one more, if she weren’t worried about getting scammed of her money because, well, Ryo being Ryo. Once she learns to manage her money better (and earns more of Bocchi’s trust), Ryo takes Bocchi some of the stores she normally visits alone, where they’ll browse and listen to the stuff they like and only occasionally chat (cuz, yknow, Team Introvert)

Nijika and Kita-chan’s dates are very normal (meet at station, brunch at a cafe, watch a movie, window shopping afterwards), and they like it that way. They have other partners for crazier stuff.

Kita-chan and Bocchi’s early dates are also very normal... or they try to be, but there’s always Something that neither of them expects and one of them has to bring the other back from the brink of whatever Bocchi Time-esque episode they find themselves in.

Nijika and Ryo’s dates can go anywhere from super normal and low key to wild and random. They bicker and joke around a lot but there’s always, always at least one moment where they both fall silent while standing/sitting next to each other, hand in hand, fingers interlocked tightly with each other. Then they would look at each other, feeling how much they mean to each other’s lives while their eyes are locked... until one of them can’t take it any longer and looks away or waves it off with a laugh because they’re both blushing so hard. They usually end the day sleeping over in one of their houses.

...Bocchi the Rock? BOCCHI THE RPG!!!

This was supposed to be the dev test map, but I got so engrossed in decorating that it became the Castle of the Queendom of Starry. We also have PA-san, Hiroi Kikuri, and Ijichi Seika sprites now.

I added some chiptune/8-bit music I have a license to use (credits are included in the game menu). I'm also considering including MIDI covers of Kessoku songs if I have enough motivation for it, or maybe even some of my original compositions. We’ll just see how things go.

I also played around with some plugins to improve a lot of aspects of the gameplay. I especially like how the battle system has turned out so far. There are a few bugs here and there, some are beyond my abilities to fix. But I’ll do my best to make the game as bug-free as I can (and I’ll list the ones I can’t fix if/when I eventually share a playable build).

Story-wise, I have a few ideas rolling around my head, but nothing concrete yet since I usually just go with the flow when eventing scenarios and conversations in RPG Maker.

The Town of Starry has a map now! I’ve built up interiors for most of the buildings as well. As seen in the video, the weapon/armor/item shops don’t have storekeepers yet, but the Inn is already fully functional. And for a fun side note: I coded the inn so that who sleeps in which bed is randomized. ;)

As for the combat system, I tweaked it with plugins so that the characters will move towards their target if they’re performing a melee attack, but stay in place if they’re performing a ranged attack. Kita-chan also has a new skill now: the Kitan Aura. This casts a “Charmed” status effect on enemies, which makes them attack their allies.

I already have some ideas for a story, but I haven’t coded any of it yet. It will come eventually, but right now I’m more focused on building up the maps and the gameplay. Next in my plans is to create different types of enemies, so that I can start building a dungeon soon.

...Bocchi The Rock?

BOCCHI THE RPG!

This is very basic and barebones because I just made this project and haven’t developed anything yet (I’m busy working on an original game right now). I just wanted to show off the Bocchi characters I made in the character generator.

Bocchi is the Hero. I made her a knight because her dreams of shining and becoming popular as a guitarist translates well to being a dashing knight in RPGs.

Nijika is the Mage. Specifically a healer/support class, because of how the drums carries the rhythm of a band just like a party depends on healing and protection.

Ryou is the Thief. The single thing I’ve coded in this project so far is Ryou’s Steal Gold skill (because I really wanted her to have it). I thought it fit her well because of the money problems she keeps having in the show and how she puts a price on everything. Plus Thief/Assassin classes can sometimes have buff/debuffs that helps support the party in a different way, like how bass also supports the band with rhythm but in a different way from drums.

Kita is the Archer, because in some games I’ve played, Archers evolve into Bards. She’s the vocalist and face of the band, and I think her natural charms translates well to how charismatic bards usually are.

Also just to put it out there: I ship Polykessoku. So if I ever develop more of this fan game, there will definitely be Polykessoku.
