Hello! After all this effort, behold:

DANGANRONPA DEMIX, THH EDITION!

Finally got the talentswap designs I have for the THH characters one and done with! You can click through the read more section for some fun design insights. I'm intending on uploading a doc containing short lore bits about them eventually.

Kyoko Kirigiri - Ultimate Affluent Progeny

So Kyoko's design was both kinda simple, kinda not, wanted to give her a very fine and regal kinda attitude to her but not arrogant as that's very much Byakuya's thing. Her story is that she loves her dad more than the family business and her grandpa so she abandons detective work and just uses her brain to help her dad out.

Makoto Naegi - Ultimate Novelist

Makoto is a wonderful guy, just great all around. He loves writing children's books and happy stories. This is his main coping mechanism so he doesn't have to process any negative emotions he gets, the rest he can't process… well they go into a murderous psychopath alter.

Aoi Asahina - Ultimate Lucky Student

Shoujo protagonist Aoi. Cute, headstrong, affective, competitive, these are all the traits that make her fight for her friends and clash with Kyoko (and more often than not Byakuya) in the killing game, even when all hope seems lost… she pushes through, unafraid to let tears spill from her eyes for all those lost, but pushing all the same.

Byakuya Togami - Ultimate Detective

This one, I wanna go into more lore territory, cause I kinda memed around his last desc I gave him so here goes:

"A disgraced heir of the Togami household, Byakuya lost the competition that would've secured his riches. Disdainful and bitter, he sought out to get to the bottom of why he lost, uncovering a rabbit hole in the process. By the end, he proved his sibling a cheater, but it didn't matter because by the end as he found the sweet satisfaction of uncovering secrets and crushing liars and cheaters under the weight of their hubris far more satisfying than any inheritance."

Sayaka Maizono - Ultimate Spirit Medium

So Sayaka isn't a clairvoyant at all like Yasuhiro, in fact her entire skillset is completely different, first of all she is like an actual psychic, and I based her design off of the japanese Itako, quite loosely. Very interesting group, look it up, also she'll never use these powers in the killing game because I dunno how to even approach these rituals or what they look like or how to write them while remaining respectful, so she won't do it in a killing game for the express reason of her not having the right tools available and not wanting to disrespect her traditions.

Leon Kuwata - Ultimate Swimmer

I really wanna draw him again, all these characters again tbh, and I wanna show off the patterns on his wetsuit. It's a whole coral reef under there, that anemone and clownfish bit is only one part of a whole reef stretching his midline.

Sakura Ogami - Ultimate Programmer

Sakura has installed chips into her body to help optimize her body processes and also cause why not. As for the muscles, she's an Assembly programmer, the programs she's made can run on calculators she loves it.

Chihiro Fujisaki - Ultimate Martial Artist

Chihiro's design here with the two belts is an explicit nod to his preferred martial art - Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, so unlike Sakura in canon who'd be easy to imagine cracking someone's skull in half with a chop, Chihiro's approach is more crawling onto someone and bringing them down to the floor with grappling like an angry halfling monk. As for the belts themselves, on his head is his final junior belt, while around his waist is his current belt, he's not a black belt yet because he's still too young for it.

Celestia Ludenberg - Ultimate Baseball Star

Celestia actually isn't a legend in this AU, Taeko is. Celestia hates that and wants to start a baseball career going international, whatever the hell that means is up to her own definition, but she wants to be remembered forever as Celestia, not Taeko. Also extra sentence, but this is the SINGLE hardest design I've ever had to deal with here, I think in the future I'll be drawing all her little accessories and I have an alt costume for her I have in mind.

Hifumi Yamada - Ultimate Pop Star

So I changed Hifumi's story as I originally outlined in the OG post with him. He was friends with Aoi all his life, pretty much his only friend at all, and ever since he was little he had an obsession with writing songs, because he was obsessed with stuff like anime openings and was content to just keep the songs to himself. It wasn't till Aoi convinced him to share some of his songs that he started his journey to success, but bc he's not traditionally attractive, his first hits were literally just… his voice being played over other more attractive singers and it wasn't until very very recently that he even performed a song of his for the first time.

Toko Fukawa - Ultimate Fanfic Writer

So while Hifumi was clearly a Doujinshi but due to weird translation, ended up as fanfic creator, Touko is straight up a FF then Wattpad then AO3 girl, who would get obsessed with this really shitty, tripe manga that she didn't even like reading. It did however have super hot dudes in it, so she wrote good stories of those characters when she got frustrated with the actual authorial content - which was always.

Yasuhiro Hagakure - Ultimate Gambler

Quite LITERALLY the never stop gambling meme personified into a guy. He can lose 3 mil on slot machines but always comes out fine because it means if he keeps gambling he'll eventually run into his 1/3 and win giga millions, what he needs to pay off his debts. It isn't just with luck though either because his personality and lack of intelligence or understanding of most the rules of the games he plays means he'll never react the way he should when getting a good hand in poker or a bad draw in blackjack, so he wins those games almost always through just… stupidity.

Mukuro Ikusaba - Ultimate Biker

She's number 16 in her gang, and is easily the most loyal enforcer and taskman of the gang. She does anything she's told, to a grim and disciplined degree not typical for hooligan bike gangers, she doesn't really desire a seat as top dog of the gang though, after all she's got school to worry about, and her sister.

Mondo Owada - Ultimate Warlord

So his relationship and Kiyotaka's is gonna be interesting, because I don't want him to be exactly like Mukuro at all, who was just sort of an all-obsessed Yandere. It's more like he's always chafing under Taka, who is less than friendly with him in this AU, really the main way he even lets Taka boss him around is because he pays incredibly well and helps keep his gang members from devolving back into the unstructured, chaotic criminal life, the same that took his brother years ago.

Oh and yeah, he still looks like Guile, as he should.

Sparkling Justice - Ultimate Killer Killer

Yeah it's a reference to Killer Killer, sue me I love the manga. He has Hajirahara's ahoge, and I thought it'd be cute to also give him a mask just like the other Makoto from a Kodaka game series (Raincode.) Also, while Genocide jack stuffs all her scissors in her skirt, Makoto keeps a truth gun with "truth bullets" as his main weapon, the gun he stores inside the big book in the chibi of just Makoto, and the bullets kept on his person as the red buttons all over his body, which he pulls out when he needs to reload.

"Kiyotaka Ishimaru" - Ultimate Fashionista

Unlike Mukuro and Junko, Mondo absolutely cannot hide the fact that he acts nothing like Kiyotaka, though this is surprisingly fine to everyone else, because unlike Junko who plastered herself onto literally everything, Mondo always obfuscated himself from the public spotlight, at most showing only his suits while he hid his face behind something conveniently placed. Which played primarily to his vision of an ultimate fashionista, who was above everyone and catered to the rich and powerful.

Junko Enoshima - Ultimate Moral Compass

This was a fun one, I decided to let her have her red hair because I believe it to be the "natural" look of her hair, while attaching little clips of dyed hair to her buns as a replacement to keep her shape sorta and keep the strawberry blonde somwehere on her. Understand that while she is the "moral compass" she is still pretty deranged, and the only reason she focuses so much on keeping everyone on their best behavior is because it's endlessly entertaining to her to make her fellow moral committee members upset when she blatantly makes a mockery of the rules while still keeping kids on their best behavior to make a point.

Kiyotaka Ishimaru - Ultimate Fashionista and Tyrant, the Iron Hand of Despair

Taka's design I wanted to sort of focus on this sort of, holier-than-thou idea, where I wanted to make him look a lot fancier and upper-class than Junko does in his standard highschool fit compared to him. I wanted him to have an upper-crust sort of look

Kyoko - Ultimate Affluent Progeny

Makoto - Ultimate Children's Book Author

Loves happy endings and normal lives, hates injustice and evil and crime. Has a second personality who lives out his most unwholesome fantasies of vigilante justice.

Ultimate loser of the togami sibling tournament mega Xrd triple cross. Lost so hard he had to prove his siblings were cheating. Found out he was a really damn good detective instead.

What happens when instead of a talent recruiter, Sayaka met a kooky old blind woman who could sense her psychic powers? The ultimate psychic of course.

Part 2 of the DR1 Demix Series! Here we have:

Hifumi as the Ultimate Pop Sensation

Celestia as the Ultimate Baseball Star

Saku(ra) as the Ultimate Programmer

Chihiro as the Ultimate Fighter

Touko as the Ultimate Fanfic Artist

and Yasuhiro as the Ultimate Gambler

As always, some design insights below the cut.

Celestia: Unlike Leon, Celes loves being the ultimate baseball player. She loves the fame, the attention, and the fact it makes her feel special, and far from the boring life she grew up in. She wants to start life over after hope's peak not as Taeko Yasuhiro, but as Celestia Ludenberg.

Hifumi: Hifumi is a body-positive pop sensation who got his position because he submitted a recording of himself singing a song he wrote as a dare to a radio station, aftwards his career started after a kind agent saw the potential in the big boy. Enough for a career.

Touko: Toko I imagine is not very hard to put in the role of fanfic author, in this au she never goes full psycho because she was picked up by a gaggle of anime nerd women her first school so while she lives a shitty life in her parents place she has at least had people to hang out with and bond to. So instead of a psycho, she's just her unpleasant self + anime gatekeeping.

Yasuhiro: If you had a 33% chance guarantee of winning every bet you place at a casino you should always be gambling. Even if you're not that good and a huge moron, a 1 in 3 chance of winning every bet is crazy and that's what Yasuhiro managed to be born with, a 33% chance to win any bet or call he makes, making him stupid rich... or at least he should be, if he wasn't an idiot and manage to still rack a huge debt up.

Saku(ra): Sakura in this AU is known as "Saku" to most of the public, as the only successor to her family's business, in the stead of her father's teachings, she agreed to operate in public as a man in order to save her family's business from falling to malevolent forces in her distant family, who all but disallow the idea of a woman taking over the family business... the Ogami IT Consultancy firm...

Oh the muscles are normal, she's an Assembly programmer.

Chihiro: Essentially a Karate Kid story where all the bullying Chihiro suffered caused him to hit back at one point, causing him to bloody up a bully's face so bad he had to be suspended temporarily. In this suspension, Chihiro's father enrolled him into a dojo, and then shenanigans would ensue causing him to get sent to more and more prestigious institutes of martial learning until he would eventually beat the once-ultimate fighter and earn his title

As always change will surely come for these designs and have some design insights below. Thank you for peeping, the final piece with all of them should be in the next few weeks.

Junko - Junko's a moral committee member known for being really really weird and off-putting but stupidly effective. She crocks up silly plans to basically cause everyone around her to sweat and be terrified of her despite her not really doing anything wrong. Essentially she's a fucking psychopath still but her focus is more on constantly entertaining herself rather than just dipping into despair, and mass-social engineering is the most fun thing for her. The easiest way to access that sorta thing is become part of the school morals committee.

Kiyotaka - Kiyotaka's family ruination goes a little worse in this AU, as Kiyotaka's family's grief really gets to him, he reminesces over the perfect world he had in his life, and seeks to create a world without pain or poverty or hatred... through eliminating free will, and establishing permanent control through despair! Can't have corruption when nobody's motivated to do anything right?

Mukuro - The events of Mukuro and Junko's early years still occur in this timeline, and Mukuro is convinced to run away to Europe, for what particular reason matters little, and Mukuro gets found by a gang of bikers in eastern europe, the violent variety, one she climbs up in and becomes leader of in record pace. Also she's still weird about her sister, but in a less screwed up way, she's just really clingy and the way she and Junko become better friends again is when Junko messes with her so much Mukuro gets fed up with her and bad mouths her to oblivion, something Junko highly appreciates.

Mondo - I'm still cooking this one up, but essentially Daiya's death sparks a way, way bigger catalyst than Mondo could ever hope to believe and his gang are impressed and indebted into becoming a private paramilitary group used by one of the people they'd wronged in the past. But this ends up being something Mondo would prove to be way too good at, something that'd blow up stupendously in the face of the person that initially forced them into working for them.

Sparkling Justice - He has a gun, a revolver and shoots bad people, bc in danganronpa 1 Makoro uses guns and truth bullets, I thought it'd be neat to give that to our serial killer. Also I gave him an ahoge styled after Takumi Hajirahara because it's heavily implied he is sparkling justice, also gave him a bit of a simpler mask. Probably will tweak it more.

Disguised Mondo - Yeah thtere's not really any kind of rhyme or reason for this I just think it'd be really funny if "Taka" didn't even remotely look like Taka but for some inexplicable reason Mondo can just do a perfect Taka impression and everyone's like "yep works for me."

Another post! This time featuring what the antagonists for my AU might look like. While Akane and Nekomaru are locked in the rest is up to changes in the future. Kyoko and Celestia were put on a poll but the results I believe I didn't set up properly, so now I'm amending that somewhat. I drew both sets in these sketches, and when enough time has passed I'll set up another poll, properly this time on strawpoll.

As for some design explanations and lore you can check under the cut :)

Kyoko and Makoto I believe are pretty straightforward here, I gave Kyoko a neckerchief that goes pretty far down to give her that sort of upper class educated look, while Makoto I gave a smart little jacket. There's only so far you can go with the normal boy, but I also made his hair fluffier and nicer. His ahoge is there but it's normally combed back, and only springs to full life when he's in murder mode.

Kyoko joined her dad in leaving the tradition of detective work behind and entered the business world where she used her analytical mind to be the best damn stock investor in the world, while definitely something she excels at it's not something she finds particularly fulfilling.

Makoto is a wholesome, normal dude who loves writing books about wholesome stories with good endings, while his family was and still is normal, he was captured once by unscrupulous scientists wanting to explore Despair and its mysterious qualities. Makoto never gave in, but in his suffering developed an alter ego who was grimly invested in justice above all else.

Sparkling Justice is a night haunter, who exclusively goes around killing murderers and evildoers against Makoto's wishes. Choosing to right any injustice he sees in the world, allowing for happy endings for the victims, surely?

I went hard with celes and hifumi a long time ago in previous designs, so here they are with similar designs as I gave them before. Hifumi wears a suit vest, and a button-up underneath while still keeping his bag... which may or may not be more than just a simple bag...

Celestia was born a normal kid and absolutely hated that life, so when a relative of hers from Europe visited she begged them and her family to go with them and she did. She grew up exploring Europe, and would propose money-making schemes to her family abroad and would eventually be able to fund the glamorous lifestyle she always thought she deserved.

Hifumi is just a writer-focused version of himself, though with a particular love for action-romance novels and fiction rather than strictly heart-melting novels like Touko. He's a sweet boy but very weird and horny for Celestia, so he's completely useless around her. He's basically a tool... just like...

ROBO-JUSTICE is a serial killer known for their modus operandi of targeting particularly attractive and very mean women with hammers or blunt force trauma. This alter was formed after one particularly awful night of bullying resulting in Hifumi getting thrown into an abandoned industrial park and nearly dying from exposure to wires and sharp metal. Despite this though, it is almost entirely subservient to Celestia whenever it surfaces from Hifumi's mind.

Akane and Nekomaru I've already drawn before, but I think it'd be nice to give some of the backstory I've planned for them.

Akane is a well-meaning, brash, and reckless person whose freakish natural strength pairs with a luck that does everything except help her directly. Random and unpredictable, Akane desperately tries everything she can to get into extremely unpredictable and dangerous situation for her luck to grace those around her with the best outcome from her misfortune, even if it means hurting a lot of people in the process.

Nekomaru was inspired by the nonstop hard work he saw the nurses had to do when they were treating his heart condition. So inspired that he made it his solemn vow to join them whatever it took, leading him to become the ultimate nurse. He would, however, be the first of his classmates to fall to the despair of the mastermind, as his well-meaning nature drew him into a trap he could not predict.

For Rantaro and Tenko I took inspiration from M. Bison(Dictator) and Criss Angel specifically. These are the most experimental designs I have as you can tell, but I plan on working on them a lot.

Tenko's story involves her becoming the head of her little "dojo" and straight up turning it into a cult, with her as the ultimate supreme leader and the greatest fighter in the world.

Rantaro started off doing magic for her sisters, and got so good at making them happy that one of them introduced his magic act to the world through sites like youtube, causing him to become a sensation drooled over by millions of girls around the world.

Ideating danganronpa protags for the AU, each of the mainline entries at least.

For a DR1 AU, Aoi takes center stage as the protagonist and Byakuya is her lovely support.

Aoi is your girl-next door, blessed with the lovely luck of a shoujo protagonist, and impossibly stubborn. So stubborn, that it may be her true talent, but is it enough to survive a killing game?

Byakuya is snooty and superior, as he always is, solving cases left and right with unrivaled precision and brilliance. He has the brains, the money, and the persevering self-delusion to make him the greatest detective of all time. But his stubbornness makes him nearly impossible to work with, one would need an equally stubborn partner for this asshole.

Ibuki, we all know about by now, she doesn't know her talent, but she is very very chipper. Unfortunately, chipperness doesn't translate to survival, and it is anyone's guess if her sanguine disposition will last her through a whole killing game.

GameMaster is her trusty partner. The ultimate gamer, and not much else... if you asked him at least. Let's just say, GameMaster may be far more than just an internet username.

Kokichi is a prodigy, and also an unbearable piece of shit who thinks better than his peers, because he likely has none if his talent is concerned. He never plays the same piece the same way twice, he's absolutely impossible to conduct, and every teacher he's ever had has found him impossible... but underneath all that, may be a good heart(?)

Himiko likes to roleplay as much as she likes to solve cases, in fact she's combined the two into one act, often narrating her detective adventures in a little notebook where she can pretend to be the hard-boiled detective in all the anime and old movies she watches.

All designs likely will change as I explore them more.

Danganronpa Demix's masterminds :)

Kiyotaka, ultimate Fashionista - Obsessed with order and control, Taka seeks to accomplish his dream of a world ruled by peace and order, using despair to render all other people pliable and too depressed and incapable to work, rebel, or even think of rebelling. This dream is his obsession, his masterpiece, and he will do nothing to stop it from becoming a reality. To help him every step of the way is his best friend and closest confidant Mondo who has ruled the Crazy Diamond gang ever since his brother's unforseen death, and had converted it into a true paramilitary group. Mondo was promised glory, wealth, and a world where brothers never kill their siblings ever again... and it is a lie he has fallen for, hook line and sinker ever since.

Ibuki, Ultimate Talent - Ibuki, born a normal, unremarkable girl always thought - knew deep in her heart that she was something more, destined for more, she was supposed to be like the ultimates she so idolized, she was just like them, she just knew it. There was some deep talent within her, itching to get released for the world to recognize... but it never manifested. Never naturally at least. When given an offer to realize her dream, she jumped into the pool with both feet.

As a result, she was reborn as something else - someone else completely. A being with no memory, no recollections, no friends, no thoughts, nothing but talent... and a distinct sense of satisfaction that has her grinning through everything...

And that's it for now. Ibuki and Taka are Danganronpa Demix's masterminds for the 1st and 2nd game. Though V3's masterminds are yet to be decided as I'm ping-ponging between mastermind Kiibo or Ryoma, not sure yet. But when I am, I'll draw them :)
