Bold = Top Ten
Some notes: The Queen’s Gambit was really good and didn’t make it into the Top Ten only because it’s TV and I was being a “films only” purist (this month). It probably would have replaced La belle bête which really got in to the Top Ten because it was so weird/interesting and because Caroline Dhavernas. After Bildnis einer Trinkerin the other Ulrike Ottinger film I watched Madame X: An Absolute Ruler was a big disapointment, and the same goes for Everything Everywhere All at Once which I think I’d hyped up for myself because everyone else seemed to love it. Neither film was bad, and each had their moments, but both were overlong and really dragged for me.
