Spooky Au Brian thingamabob

Brain: we should probably pay attention, this is important

Brain: haha but what if-

Ideas/infodump I have about Spooky!Lads! Specifically about Brian and the mysterious company.

Brian has actually gotten into fights with the other lads before, since he keeps missing important things in their lives

The problem is, he’s not missing these things, he can’t remember them at all

The others kind of write it off as Brian being a smooth brain and just go on with their lives

Brian himself… well

He forgets the car crash he was in, even though he knows he was in one (he and Kevin are the car hating duo) but he just writes that off as trauma, or a side affect of the company deleting themselves from his memory. And honestly? Good riddance.

The lads actually figure out what’s going on before Brian does, when he realises he’s being hacked and panics, only to immediately after calm down and have no memory of doing so (like that one post said)

The problem is, they know somethings wrong now, but they don’t exactly know what. 

Trying to explain it to Brian is. Hard. Because he just, , , kind of refuses to see it? Maybe thinks they’re messing with him a bit?? He would remember freaking out at the bloody dinner table guys

The others hover for so long, Daithi even insisting on a quick maintenance check just to be sure, and nothing seems to be wrong

Doesn’t stop them though. Drives him up the goddamn wall because there is nothing wrong with him would you lot stop saying that-

The others, for their part, are worried as all shit, because they know somethings wrong, but they can’t seem to convince Brian and they don’t know what and there doesn’t actually to be anything wrong with him and he seems fine but are you sure???????

Kevin doesn’t set things on fire for a whole THREE DAYS

Brian is tipped off when he realises he can’t remember how he met Jack

It’s probably a few weeks later, when the constant fretting has died down a lot, and Daithi makes a joke to Jack like “when we met, we already accepted you were going to eat us, we were just trying to figure out whose fault it was” and Brian just. freezes

Scans his memories and banks and everything. Turns up blank

Why can’t he remember it hadn’t been that long ago what is going on is something wrong something must be wrong he can’t just forget something like that-

He goes through all his written notes, and finds things he does not recall, recent things, big things that he should remember but can’t

He keeps it from the others, partially because he’s terrified and partially because he doesn’t want to tell Jack he doesn’t remember how they met, afraid it’ll upset him

It does but not in the way he expects

The others probably get tipped off to the situation when he forgets something big; he sees Turg and wonders who destroyed him, or he forgets the name of the two lighters entirely. He reacts in shock to finding out Daithi has a field, or finding out Jack’s real name is Sean. Forgets that Dan is severely arachnophobia and he’s in charge of destroying any webs, that they gave Dan portraits of themselves.

Big things. Things that can’t be overlooked

Cue the most awkward intervention ever

And cue some very fucking feral creatures going after a mysterious company

And everytime Brian forgets or blanks on something, they just get angrier
